VN - Ren'Py - Hard To Find [Ep.2 v2.1] [Onyx]

I don't like the look of the MC and her personality, but the story looked interesting and something you don't often see in games like this, I also like the MC's friend who was a lot of the time at the beginning of the story and I was hoping for content with her. But the friend then disappears and the story about the porn industry and how girls get there and their work as porn actresses looks not realistic. The game has a lot of dialog and a lot of things are described in detail, the game takes place in the present day in a US setting, so you expect a realistic story. But this is exactly the opposite of reality, in the game in the porn industry work the kindest and most sympathetic people, the "crew" after filming have lunch, socialize with each other, and have romantic relationships, everyone is very friendly and helpful. This game romanticizes porn so much that it seems ridiculous. The game is very long, it's rare to see such a large amount of content from a release. It's impressive but it also gets boring after a while, you get tired of the game and there are few really interesting events. To summarize, this game is for those who like girls with chubby gnome bodies and fairy tales about the porn industry, for the work put into this game and the original story I can give 3/5, but it is a very unbelievable story about how porn is filmed.

Wish I could give this 4.5 stars, as its not perfect, but its pretty damn good, with some points that hopefully the dev can focus on and handle - love the MC, and the way she is portrayed - not your classic porn cliche, presented as a more "natural" body, and all the problems she may have had are clearly told, but she has a really infectious character and energy that gets you enjoying things, the premise is probably not that new, but the way its told is refreshing, sure, let's not delude ourselves, porn does have its dark and dingy parts for sure, but it's painted as a really interesting look into the life of a new pornstar and how she picks up so much confidence and love for herself, alongside the normal day to day, her meeting new people, talking to the crew and expanding this world, which is really nice, scenes are fairly erotic and enjoyable, so it helps as well combined with her enthusiasm (though I wouldn't mind seeing a little more lingerie or similar teasing action, I know it is porn, but not all of it is wham bam thank you ma'am!), we see her make new friends, build up new relationships, and it ends up being like this little slice of life, but with a female pornstar, which is oddly refreshing and interesting!

However, there is a small issue the dev definitely needs to resolve, and that is what the story is that is being told, and clearly conveying that to everyone, I would have expected more of a build up of her first scenes and character building, but there is a time skip and we continue from a perspective of someone who already has built that confidence and experience and is more so expanding her horizons after a few months - that is fine, but ultimately the dev needs to show what the story being told will be - will it be a retelling of her whole career á la slice of life, will there be some more mystery and changes? At the moment, it's great because its fresh and a nice intro and lead in to her confident character, but without a story being painted, it risks ending up being "the new female pornstar went to work, and talked to friends and it was great, but we tell you this 20 times over", even as a slice of life there should be a story being told and some variety, but as long as the dev avoids this, I think it can progress nicely - alongside this, the choices (or lack there in really, feels quite linear , and some choices feel like they are made for us, which has not been bad so far, but there is an element of letting the player feel a little involved in choosing her path as a game vs a purely kinetic novel which I feel would dampen the experience.

Overall, a pretty solid start, and definitely would recommend playing and enjoying, just hope the dev has considered the parts that might be a problem

This idea might have been done before, but I’ve not seen it, and I thought it was a pretty good premise. I liked both the idea of the game itself (young girl getting into the adult entertainment industry), and the idea for some of the scenes (casting couch, fucking a teacher and having someone walk in just after the cumshot, etc.) that plenty of people will likely recognise.

The story itself didn’t really work for me overall though, as I was expecting a game following Anna as she tries to break into the industry over a period of some time, but she was there and successful by the end of the first episode (of currently two). I’m not sure what direction the game will now take, although I’m sure there will be a plan for it.

The gameplay is almost exclusively linear, with very few choices. The early choices are a bit odd as well, as they basically give the option of continuing or giving up the idea of becoming a performer. Since that’s the aim of the game, the “give up” option is a game-over choice, with a quick scene showing three or ten years later, and I didn’t really see the point in this as it just seems like false agency given to the character. The other choices seen so far are mostly during sex scenes, so would generally have no impact outside of the scene itself.

The graphics are pretty good and I liked the look of the main girl. It’s refreshing to have a young (20 years) FMC with some proper curves and bush, rather than the usual slim, shaved models of most other games (and the curvier models reserved for the mature love interests only). There aren’t really any other girls to comment on at the moment, but there is a photoshoot with two other girls here and the talk of filming some girl/girl scenes to come. Ultimately though, I guess that’s not the focus of the game, so it's not to be looked at as a downside.

Looks like this one could be a really good game. Nice graphics but the story is sometimes a little bit unpolished.
Second thing that could be better: Sometimes its like a click-slideshow. Again nice graphic - but here no text at all.
Until yet its a 4/5 for me.

After playing the second Episode I've to decrease my rating to 3/5.
The story lost the red thread. Everything is a little bit untidy.
This game needs a little bit more love.

Still thinking that this game could be a real pearl.

Very interesting new game.
There's a lot more fun than the usual games that corrupt femaleMC.
Life is hard, don't need more twists and turns, just need some happiness. good.
The pictures is carefully rendered DAZ.
The female characters are also very beautiful. Many details are also realistically depicted.

Very good so far. A surprising amount of content for an initial release.
Love the appearance of the FeMc. Redhead, freckles, carpet matching the drapes, can't go wrong. She's also deliciously plump, a nice change from the regular bodies you usually see used for main or spotlight characters. Some people may complain but it makes sense story wise. FeMc was just drifting through life, slaving away at a 9-5(a nice touch with her mundane, daily actions, the only change being her clothing)and not putting any priority on her health or appearance. It's even stated that she stopped going to the gym and the dev seems to be setting up a potential fitness arc to get her back into shape(although I hope we have a choice on how fit she becomes).
REALLY love the appearance of FeMc's mom as well, a fine wine. There's a scene where Sienna is looking at a photograph of her past and reminiscing about her female co-stars. Along with the the FeMc asking Sienna to socialize with her mom, I can only hope there's a mature lesbian romance budding between the two.

No idea where this will go from here but I look forward to a potential 10-20 year time skip(I just want to see a mature FeMc with a similar appearance to her mom doing some raunchy scenes). She could also carry on Sienna's torch, owning her own company and helping other aimless young women.
Regardless, props to the dev. Solid start, best of luck.

Was expecting a cute Female Protagonist chubby girl turned pornstar and be done with it. But it's more than that; the whole experience is told in a realistic way and I wanted to keep going.
There is a lot of content for an early release too.

Wow...just wow, story is good, models are realistic, the overall feeling is very nice. I wonder if the maker do some darker stuff in the future because we all know porn business is not sunshine all day.

But please keep going, maybe a little mini game where you must do as your Producer says or something like that.
