RPGM - Harem in Another World [v0.831] [Jong Games]

Game has great art, nice H-scenarios and writing that is not that bad.
However, game shoots itself in the foot with your standard RPG Maker problems.

Most of your time is spent walking way too large maps that look like every RPGM game ever made. Even the fast travel room is large enough that it sometimes feels faster to just walk the distance instead of teleporting. Who thinks that these large maps are fun?

Nothingburger combat is another thing that eats away your time. Again, nothing in combat is tied to anything lewd.

Menus and the boring way the text is delivered is your typical RPGM crap.

Resource gathering is slow but not doing it keeps you from progressing with the girls. Exploration is not optional. It is not rewarding but not doing it is punishing.

Way you progress with the girls is just bad. Most of the time it is long span of nothing and then in quick session all of the content at once. Feels very unrewarding and inorganic way to progress with the girls.

Mini games in this sex game have nothing to do with sex or anything interesting. Instead you have to do boring jobs, timed mazes and terrible racing.

TLDR: You spent most of the time with poor RPG Maker game without a ounce of lewd stuff. So, art is doing heavy lifting here - without those this is 1 to 2 star game.

First things first the art is fantastic and has only been improving as time goes on. This game is a great use of the RPGM engine and, in my opinion, one of the best using the engine. Since this review is as of v0.83 (though, I have been playing since the beginning) I’m positive it will only continue to get better as the developer continues to flesh out the world and the scenes.

The combat is very simple which I personally enjoy, and even the boss fights are well designed as they are still simple, but the challenge increases compared to a regular enemy.

There is a great variety between the characters themselves in terms of both their personality and looks.

Looking forward to seeing this game until completion and for what the developer has in store afterwards.

A 3.5 if I'm honest but on the higher side. It is fun but there are too many inane side quests and not enough fun stuff with the girls.

I can understand not wanting it to be easy to get the girls but it is really tame so far for a game that's been in development for so long.

In good news, it is very very polished by most RPGM standards. No broken quests here. The scenes are cute. Each girl does have a personality.

Great art, good and funny writing. The combat and equipment system is minimal, and the h-scenes are spaced out fairly far apart. The walk through is needed pretty much the whole way through due to how vague the quests are.

Great game overall. Nice premise, amazing art and decent gameplay. The only drawback is the somewhat slow updates. That in turn means that you have to wait quite a while to actually get anywhere with the Waifus. The current version however already has one straight sex scene with most of the heroines. Honestly just give it a try and check it out for yourselves.

This is a good game that has a nice mix of humor, clichés, and genre-defying moments. I reccomend to anyone that is interested in, as the title says, forming a harem as well as light base/kingdom building components.

One of the better arts ive seen in h-games, good and funny writing, lacking in content volumes for a 0.8 version imo. Both story and amount of actual hentai is pretty low all things considered, although quality makes up for it in my eyes. If this game gets even a third as big as some large jrpg games, its a certified 10 out of 10

Astoundingly above average

Usually don't trust games that are rated under 4 stars but this one always caught my eye because of the art. After playing I can definitely say that this is one of the games of all time.

If you're looking for a more serious fantasy or isekai story, this won't be that, nor will it be really immersive as the world seems to be a mickey mouse clown world where things don't really make much sense past "it's funny" or "it's convenient". Also, for a game that does not take itself seriously, the random bits of more serious social commentary from racist religious propaganda and corrupt elites to "rich people bad" felt very jarring despite the fact that kinda based.

The game itself is a walking simulator through and through. The combat is a complete nothingburger, but atleast you can just get the gun once you unlock the castle and the memory crystal thing. I did not use the gun in my playthrough but honestly I do not think that my experience was any different or certainly any better for it.

A lot of the quests are just fetch quests where you need to go here and get this and then go back and its just a lot of empty time spent walking. This would be okay if the graphics of the world would not have been outdated before the year on the calendar started with the number 2.

The resources sprinkled throughout the land serve as incentives to go and explore the world but GODDAMN do i not care to comb the desert of the vanilla rpgm asset landscape for that last bit of iron I need to upgrade the master bedroom. Then the fact there aren't any levels, progression or loot you can find in the world to make your character stronger makes me just wish that you could teleport anywhere on the map since there is nothing to find by exploring the world.

Due to this I think that the game utterly fails as an rpg(m) game, but is just fine if you think about it as a sandbox visual novel game. Still, the art is up there, the writing is occasionally funny and pretty spot on, the kinks are right up my alley and the dev(s?) seem disciplined and committed to actually finishing this project and (at a glance) seem to actually care about their patreon.

In short, I've played heeps worse games rated higher so therefore 5/5 instead of 4/5 because I certainly think that the game is undeserving or the current average score. Am I stupid? Possibly, but I almost skipped this game because of the score and would rather have it sitting closer to the 4/5 mark to not have this happen with others.

THE ART THO? THE SCENARIOS?

I don't usually actually care about the quality of the MC, it doesn't necessarily make a game worse for me. This one is pretty alright.

The graphics are pretty great.

Criminally underrated, this game is so damn fun. The art is top tier, it's got great animations and well written scenes and it's not bogged down by the boring combat most rpgmaker games have. The dev clearly listens to feedback and a lot of things I see people complaining about, like no autosave have since been fixed. I want to see more of the goblin girl, see doesn't have many scenes yet but they are definitely the hottest so far.

TL/DR: Annoying wimpy pervert MC and his bevy of lady-classmates get ported to another world and do random chosen-one stuff b/c mcguffins. Its a mindless, tropey, harem game that thinks it is really funny- but usually is not. Art is somewhat redeeming, but this generic 13 y/o looking MC ruins that too. Auto-battle system is somewhat fun- but overly simple and requires no strategy at all so it gets repetitive. Sexual content was pretty lame- its a harem game that led with two scenes of the MC tricking his classmate into sexual situations, a rape scene, and some whorish shop keep... Scenes were single CG animations.

Isekai RPGM where you and your school pals are whisked away after a mysterious ritual and eventually they get naked and you do a little sex with them.

One major innovation is that combat exists but plays on auto. They could have innovated it further by having it not go to the combat screen at all and have it play out on the map screen, considering it's deterministic.

The art is very good looking, but it tends to be 15 minutes between each scene and they're all one animated CG each.

It is actually one of the more charming and unique games here, but there is also some severe issues. It's funny without being stupid and the interactions are actually really nice when they happen. So is the art but there's not a lot of it. The mechanics are refreshing too, combat being a HUGE plus with the way it is done here.

Unfortunately, it also suffers from typical RPGM issues, like maps that are empty and too large. You'll walk around a lot just for the sake of spending time. Also most quests are fetch--this or walk-there quests, which doesn't do the game any service. Over time, the endless walking and obscure quest log really get to you though, especially if you haven't played a while. You always have to meet someone somewhere and you have no idea where it is or how you get there. It's really killing this game for me.

But all in all, it's a good game bogged down by poor design choices. I am at the point where I'd rather get a gallery save in the end.

Its all to vanilla and boring, theres just nothing new or fun about it, i wouldent call it bad but its not above average either.
MC and hes class mates gets teleporten to anoter world and hes now trying to find the rest of he class.
For some weird and idiotic reason MC grows a horse dick from traveling to the new world? makes no sense and its just stupid.

My guess is that the young small tittet girl whos to blame for sending them to the new world is also the evil boss that are trying to stop them, i mean i hope its not since its would be to idiotic to make it so simple that you wouldent even be able to call it a plot or a supprise but expected which makes story even less fun when you can see it coming from miles away, but then again with quests like go save a cat or pick up shit it might just be that low level of a story but lets see once it gets to that point.

Once in the new world MC claims a castle as hes own? no clue how that works but he then putting in alot of money to clean it up and make it nice, it dosent really make much sense really since he could get kicked out at any point.

Quests are boring as well, go fetch this and that, go fish to make some money and fighting is not a main thing its something to avoid? thats what game tells ya.....and yes the fighting is awfull as well since there is nothing to do no turn-based combat you just sit there looking and waiting for fight to be done and every now and then click yes to use a HP potion, so again just another boring aspect to the game.

As for the graphics its pretty shitty in normal play as most games of this type, i dont mind that though aslong as there is some good stuff in lewd scenes but it also fails with that.

As for lewd stuff there arent really much yet and even though you fucked someone and took their viginity your still not allowed to do anything with them since it goes back to the normal way of first a BJ then moving on in steps depending on relationship points or something, which feels a bit idiotic when you already fucked them once.

No auto save either so when game crashed and you dont remember to save it just pissed you off as well and no scroll back either which can be annoying as well.

While the art is good the animated are short and boring, when MC fucks someone hes dick barely moves an inch so there really isent anything to see and might as well just be a normal picture instend.

Its the standard kind where you run around to do quests and wait for fights to be done, its just meh.

It´s actually good decent gameplay and story not just running around, great art.
Takes time between upload but doesn´t push it which is normal honestly it s a must if you like simple none fucked up games

I'm not a fan of RPGM games but this is a hidden gem! The story and dialogues and characters are great, the lewd scenes although few (as the game is still in early development) are marvelous, and the best of all: the combat is simplified, there's no tedious turn-based combat these type of games tend to have.

I read somewhere that the game is being developed since 2020, which explain some of the "old" memes. Yet I don't think those small references get in the way of the story, I myself just found two or three npcs saying dumb things like bruh or big chungus.

For those who for some reason struggle with the combat: you have a "cheat mode" in the ¿Recollection? room, that make you win every fight. And being an RPGM game you can also use some Save editor online to make your character richer or stronger.

Edit: I really don't get the hateful reviews btw, it's a cool short game, some people just want too much. Combat being simplified saves me the time of putting more thought than I should on a porn game, I rather not have to think or do every combat action or use both of my hands. If u ppl want cool turn-based combat go play Fallout 2, that shit is awesome.
I don't find the dialogues cringe nor things like that, at the contrary, having Sasha questioning the Main Character horniness and acting "normal" it's a breath of fresh air, I'm used to many trash games from this page that put their female characters as dumb whores.

My only complain in that regard is the lack of character "corruption" or "relationship", Kali instantly becomes your sex slave after you save her, Ruth let's you grope her boobs during the Boo-kkake quest and look her ass while training; Sasha keeps saying you are a perv and hating you for your actions yet she becomes an ahegao hoe every now and then, even letting you cum in her face & tits, etc. I think the MC should need to work a lot more on those relationships before they even *think* of showing him a pixel of their nipples.

Not saying the game should be slower or harder, rather that the dialogue/sex would benefit to have a different pace; or at least invent some mumbo-jumbo about the MC having mental powers that make the girls more disinhibited or "predisposed" to his advances (I think the Boo-kkake scene kinda pointed in that way but idk)

The game is fucking awful! This is the worst RPGM game of all time. How the fuck did they messed up the mediocre RPGM formula???

The game's RPGM combat system literally doesn't exist. It's a fucking autobattler with no controls, like WTF??? There's no turn based combat, so any enemy encounter is a fucking slideshow! Not to mention, the quest structure is fetch quest in the worst way possible. There's an entire quest where you have to literally fish into the deep waters just to get a fucking item. You have to literally interact on any surface / tile because the game sucks at highlighting interactive objects. So quests will takes several minutes. And they're not even fun quests at all.

The game looks like a typical RPGM game except emptier and more boring. The only saving grace are the art cutscenes, which looks gorgeous for being 2D. And the sex scenes are serviceable though the looping and animation speed is fucking slow.

The story is dogshit! It's a "self-aware porn Isekai" story but terrible. Like holy fuck! The dialogues are so FUCKING cringe! I've never seen a game that tries to sound like chronically online Gen Z. It's porn brain rot with no substance.

Overall, it's shit! 2/5 because of the cutscenes art.

The "Rome" - "Roma" exchange at the very beginning of the game is stupid and offensive, was looking forward to the art since all dialogues were all quite dumb and skippable but i'm not going to spend any more time this low-effort and low-quality game.
There's no story here: just cringe delivered via stereotypes, internet culture and memes.

The combat has virtually no purpose since there are no levels or stats to improve and it is just an auto-battle mechanic with no input so aside from the extremely limited pool of gear, there is nothing that goes into combat so it just feels like a waste of time
The bar mini-game was dull but would be tolerable if it gave more gold. The fishing mini-game was horrendous to control, at least on mobile, and getting to 1000 gold to get the better boat felt like pulling teeth
The scenes are pretty short for now so there is not a lot of tension or buildup to the otherwise nice erotic scenes

For things I'd like to see improved in future versions: if you want battling to stay as a gameplay, then it needs to give you xp to feel like you are still progressing in some way or gives more gold and there are significantly more equippable items available that do more than just give a flat stat boost to make the battles go a little faster. Mini games should give more gold so you don't have to spend as much time on them or they should be more entertaining as a gameplay mechanic. Even if it's playing blackjack at a gambling table or something I feel would be better than the current ones that have you click the screen mindlessly and intermittently. Hopefully this doesn't sound too harsh because I know the build is still early, just can see a lot of potential in this game and don't want it bogged down with clunky gameplay mechanics that bring down the fantastic art.

I quite liked this game. Great art, and decent story. Gameplay isn't bad; while combat is completely hands off, it has a few minigames to keep things interesting. Honestly, if combat isn't a focus, it kinda makes sense for it to be done as quickly as possible, so you can go back to enjoying the story and whatnot. I'm eager to see how the project progresses!
