Daz Has Daz gotten worse? Rendering issues

I updated to version 4.23 not that long ago, and I've been having all sorts of problems with Daz ever since.

For example saving a scene, big or small, would usually take less than a minute. Now it can take up to 30 minutes!

I used to be able to render scenes with 3 characters, fully dressed and in a well decorated apartment set without any issues. But with the 4.23 version, Daz just freezes/stops working if I try to render a scene like that.

I'm running the same hardware as I did with the old version.

Has Daz just gotten worse? Is anyone else having these issues?

Are you sure you are rendering with the same settings ?
Check that the Subdivision level is not changed.
Also check what drivers version you have, it could be a Iray issue. "too old or new drivers".

Updated the driver when I updated Daz. Although sometimes updating drivers messes things up even more for me.

SubD level is the same.

I am just taking a guess here. that could be it.
I seen people have issues with the latest drivers, you can try an rollback to a previous driver. ie the one you had before updating.

Yeah that's what I've done in the past.

I'd look at the drivers. The more recent Studio drivers have been giving me a ton of issues. Stuff like audio crackling when the system is under a heavy load, my second GPU not being read at all, my second monitor not working. I've been using the earliest driver that works with the Omni Hair shaders.

Also, double check your render settings. It's very possible CPU was turned back on with the update. It shouldn't, but has before. Make sure they're unchecked.

Umm, I had opposite experience.

I had 4.23.01 then I bought a second hand 3090,then start to lotso of renders. One of my character has skirt and needs constant simulation. When character alone (no sets notthing) simulating was run however with environment and second character it does not.

I think problem was Daz and I rollback to 4.22 simulation was same. Install old nvidia drivers and still got same issue.
But daz stuido itself got worst, too much hanging after pose apply and or scene load.

I'm middle of something and did want to disturb my production workflow. after completing this project I want to to test new 4.23. It was more responsive than actual one.

I think your problem was either your daz setup does not recognize the card and fall back to cpu or your rendering settings was reset to default.

I'm on 4.23 and it improved the scene loading speed by a lot, over 4.21 and earlier versions. Scenes that took 3-5 mins+ to load before now load in about a min, two at the most. Rendering seems to be about the same speed as before. It's reasonably stable and I don't see as much of the memory leakage as I did before, although it still happens.

I recently upgraded my NVIDIA drivers to 576.02 Studio and have noticed no problems so far. On the older version I was running, I started to occasionally get rendering hangups, but with the newer drivers, that's gone away. Still get 173 FPS in War Thunder as well :p

Unless something changes, I'll probably keep this config for now, until I finally pull the trigger on a 5000 series card and switch to Daz 2025.

I have it on my main system for Omnihair fuckery, but usually just stick with 4.21 for everything else. Sadly, it's still the most stable.

Weirdly, loading files from my NAS on 4.23 took about the same length as 4.21 (seven or so minutes). 4.24 only took two-ish minutes. I swear, Daz will never make any actual sense. :KEK:

Yesterday I move to 4.24 from 4.22 notmuch changed other than color sceme.

I suggest install bare tail log then analyze your loading times.
