I feel this game is somewhat overlooked - more people should be rating and reviewing it. This is a twine game with quite a lot of images - pretty decent art too. The character models are mainly hot and they accompany the text well. But at base it is a text based browser game.
I love the premise - rescued from evil medieval empire you are living in a free love pirate archipelago. Where to go from here? As a porn game this has a lot of sexual content, as it transpires that mostly what your character will do is have sex. A fair amount of this is bondage or D/s oriented, which is a positive for me. The quality of the prose is pretty decent throughout.
So far, so good. But what stops me giving this a higher rating is various areas where I feel like the foundations have not really been capitalised on. As I said, the central premise is cool and so is the worldbuilding, but then the game doesn't really have a compelling story at all. A first act in which you gain the trust of Haven factions and train up, drifting towards slut or seductress, before a second act in which you and your allies infiltrate the empire bring it down from within? That would be cool. Instead you just bumble around having sex, then pick a career ending basically. So not really narratively driven.
My second gripe is more more about personal taste. There is a lot of lesbian content (fine by me) but our heroine also has plenty of opportunities to sleep with men on the islands, so it's not a one gender setting. Yet there is only one named male character, versus dozens of women - I can see the appeal, but at some point it feels a bit like pandering to an audience who only want to see women, at the expense of worldbuilding.
Finally, very much a personal taste thing - the kink content is very light in tone. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's there at all, and the female chastity content is sorely lacking in other games. But it's mainly just being tied up and pleasured or used for pleasure, all very amiable. The tone of the writing even seems to consider spanking a bit harsh, and often shies away from it. Personally I like my BDSM a bit harder. But that's just me.
Anyway, some impressive initiative here, that perhaps doesn't fully live up to it's potential. Watching the developer's future work with interest.
