What a wonderful idea. I’ll include more files so the size is 5.1GB, which is
just over Mega and Pixeldrain’s free download limit.
Don’t worry, the size will be smaller in v0.3 since I will prune some unused assets! I know there are some duplicates I left in there, just in case shit hit the fan.
We won’t have to worry about size afterward, at least until I add massive amounts of animation and L2D. I hope our Patreon grows one day to that stage, since it would be a
very nice problem to have, LOL.
TBF, it’s also another reason why leaks are a bit unconvenient for me sometimes. These aren’t
really public releases; occasionally I’ll release things early for Patrons to experiment/act as guinea pigs. So there might be stuff like missing voice lines, a bit of glitches here and there, broken choices, etc.
Patrons are generally understanding (since they’re literally funding development). But sometimes you get a raging Joe with no attachment to the game absolutely rip everything apart because they’re judging it from the standard of completed, polished games sold in retail stores. (Which also tend to have a lot of Day 1 patches nowadays, go figure.)
I've seen strange reviews here slamming WIP games for "lack of content" when they’re only in v0.1 (and not even in beta). Some people are weirldly entitled, ahaha.
But yeah, thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep a lookout and downgrade lesser used assets/sound files if space becomes an issue in the future. I’m still laughing at the thought of increasing the file size just over free download limits. It’s such a deliciously scummy thing to do that I can definitely see some spiteful devs doing it ahaha.
