VN - Ren'Py - HeartSync [v1.0] [Feyster]

This game should be consider not as a game but as a tech demo, you can easily finish it in 5 minutes.

The premise of the game is nice (as long as you like traps) and even if the art is AI is not that bad, the character "rimuru" looks cute (I can't believe my little slime is this cute! yep its rimuru from the slime isekai anime).

The game does need to improve a lot in the technical perspective since atm you cant hide the text box and the pictures are all over the place (I mean literally they can appear under the text box, in the middle, in the sides, etc), I know this engine allows transparency of the text box in the menus but it doesn't have it active atm).

As I said the premise is not bad although it would be nicer to find in bed (without knowing) that that cute blue hair girl is actually a trap.

Hopefully this "game" turns into a real game and not just a couple of pictures that are more a power point slide type of thing.

Rating: 3 dead goblins out of 10 (I may review this game again in some months and see how much it has improved).

    1.)Open the game.
    2. Choose you don't like the first option, get sent back to main menu.
    4. Accept that there is no additional content besides 1 character and choose yes.
    5. Consume the less than 5 minutes of total content for that character.
(2 options with each option being literally under 2 min of content \~26 images.)
    6. The version in the title, description & genre tags in no indicate the current version.

Summary of my feelings that led to 1 star: For a 1.0 release, 5 minutes of gameplay is the definition of pre-pre-pre-pre alpha. Many would argue it doesn't even qualify as a "Demo".

    **My serious constructive criticism points:**

    1. Immediately revise the Game's version number `HeartSync [v1.0] [Feyster]` to accurately reflect the current state of the game vs "Planned content when finished" in some way, simply changing "1.0" to "V0.1" would be better.

    2. Don't have **the very first depiction of the game** The banner used for the game's post contradict its current state. If those characters will be included at some point, at least state that in some way. (many ways to achieve this either by changing the banner, adding some kind of indicator of what the banner indicates is NOT what is currently in the game etc)

    3. Don't have the very next thing "The Game's Description" 100% contradict the current state of the game. "Make your choices, explore unique personalities, and decide the fate of every relationship." Key words being "every relationship"

    4. The game's banner & description indicates multiple choices, but the very first choice in the game contradicting that statement is extremely off putting and leads to the experience between the 100% opposite of the expectations that were set. I genuinely hope that isn't the intent.

    5. Update the genre's tags list to represent the current state of the game vs the planned content.

Specifically, for me, all of the above combined together sets the wrong expectation as to what the game currently is: Not 1.0, + Inaccurate Description, + Genres that don't exist, + the very first choice "Should I send her a message? "No, not really my type.." which is such a horrible kick to the face after it boots you back to the main menu. If points 1-5 were addressed expectations would have let me focus on what is in the game versus what is not .

An edit I'd suggest to the in game depiction of unfinished content: Have the "not really my type" eventually redirect to the option of picking the other option i.e. something kin to "Are you sure they aren't really your type?" instead of booting to the main menu.

I usually take into considering the current version of games vs the final version but the misrepresentation of the what the game is which leads to a perfect example of horrendously setting the wrong expectation negated that for this review. If points 1-5 are addressed, I'll definitely update the review (as the premise for the game is personally appealing)
