    This is a high-quality classic visual novel from the master of the genre Sei Shojo. The plot as a whole is beautifully executed — it is a dynamic thriller with elements of mysticism. The story tells about student who accidentally receives a devilish pistol capable of turning its owner into an obsessive maniac. Despite the seemingly simple plot, the narrative is built very competently and fascinatingly.
    The drawing is also at a high level, especially considering that more than 27 years have passed since the game was released. Porn content, of course, is clearly not suitable for everyone. He is quite cruel, as in all the other novels from Sei Shojo (BDSM, rape, partly guru). Therefore, you need to keep this in mind. If you aren't intimidated by this, then you will get high-quality content, albeit with the features of the late 90s (a small number of CGS, but quite well drawn).
    The only caveat is that the minor characters aren't sufficiently revealed, although the potential for this is huge. However, for an erotic action story of this level, the current study is quite enough.
    Music is a separate compliment. Of course, it does not reach the level of super-hits like the soundtrack to the Black Bible, nevertheless, it was created at a high professional level.
    And a separate plus is that with a relatively short duration, there are as many as 19 endings. Yes, many of them are dead ends or quick completions, but even if you don't count them, the game still has a decent amount of plot variation due to the numerous choices the player makes as the game progresses.

    Well thought-out history and gameplay options related to it.

    + concrete dynamic story;
    + voice acting;
    + lots of choices that really have a significant impact on events. Although the MC has its own character, the player gets a lot of space to show off and the individual options differ very much;
    + nice visual line and narration related to individual scenes.

    - to learn the content of the game, you must complete at least some of the available endings. The story is short if we only play it once, recognizing our choices as unchanging. For some players, choosing options they don't want to choose to see most of the game's content can be annoying.

    The game does not give us too much time for any unnecessary reflection, boldly manages the story that has its purpose and actually we get carried away quite quickly.

    Rating: 4/5
    It's really a piece of a fun game with a slightly criminal atmosphere. Everything is in place here, be it in story, visual or even sound. Ultimately, something is wrong, maybe I would prefer if the options and endings were a little less but a bit longer? maybe ... anyway, I can't give maximum assessment because I miss something here. Don't get me wrong, this is a really well made game with huge content, but I'm just dissatisfied that the path I chose and I liked it ended too quickly leaving me a bit of a hunger, I wanted more and there wasn't more, it was just what they offered other events. This time my selfishness won and was not fed so he had to eat one star to feel better *shrugs his shoulders*

    This VN is insane (and insanely good). About an hour and a half in, I have completed 5 out of 19 endings so far, and each one is hugely different from the last. The artwork has that classic Sailor Moon vibe to it -- very clean and sexy. The plot seems to be able to go just about anywhere, with multiple sex scenes & twists along the way to keep it interesting. No major typos to speak of, and Heartwork does something that not many games get right (especially those that are translated) -- the dialogue and interactions during the sex scenes are actually well written. There is very little "oh ya u like that?! uahhhhahh~~!" and much more actual sexy writing and plot progression even during the fap moments.

    The flexibility of the plot is what really makes this VN stand out, though. There are many different decisions to be made, and all of them profoundly impact what happens next. Just to give you an idea: one ending involves you creating a mass orgy/murder scene in your school classroom, while another ending finds you going out in a blazing gun battle after cumming in a convenience store clerk's mouth, super gluing her lips shut and then watching her choke to death on her own vomit.

    Obviously this game isn't going for realism, and you shouldn't really think too much about what's happening in the plot otherwise you'll first go WTF and then start realizing how nonsensical everything is. However, if you're interested in what is essentially a horror/gore hentai fan's wet dream, this is worth a download. Just another example of a 90s gaming gem.

    Heartwork is a true masterpiece.
    We have to get back in the past, but this game was released in the late 90s. The CG are absolutely splendid for the time. And the topics are very well treated. This is one of the eroges that represents to me the golden age of eroges in Japan. At that time, the Japanese knew how to produce quality games and fantasies.
