Project Overview:
Working Title: Obelisk
Summary/Hook: Four friends survive a plane crash in a snowy, wooded wasteland after flying through a rip in time and space. With relentless attacks from savage natives and no hope of rescue, the unfortunate survivors must explore, adapt, and overcome the odds—or become PREY.
What I Need:
I’m seeking a C# programmer experienced in Unity 2D to help me bring this game to life. The game combines survival, crafting, and metroidvania elements in a 2D pixel-art style. I have a clear vision for the mechanics and structure, and I need someone who can work with my assets to make them function as intended.
This is a side project with limited funding, so I can't offer full-time pay. However, I’m committed to compensating you as I can, either by hitting small milestones or whenever funds allow. We can discuss the specifics of how this would work together.
Current Project Status:
I’m directing the project and have detailed the desired mechanics, layouts, and progression. I’m also handling music production and creating most of the visual assets from scratch, so I’m actively contributing on multiple fronts. I have a large library of things I've already worked on.
Your Role:
You'll be helping to implement core game mechanics and interactive elements, bringing my assets to life. There’s a solid concept list and a foundational pitch to give a clear direction, so you won’t be working in the dark!
Requirements:
Proficiency in C# and Unity 2D.
Ability to collaborate on gameplay mechanics, AI, and interaction systems.
Comfortable working with an indie budget—enthusiasm is a must!
Additional Info:
The map design is non-random, giving it a Metroidvania feel, with adaptive elements based on player actions. There will be defensive base-building mechanics, companion control, and survival challenges as players face off against hostile forces.
