I only use windows defender and it had not flagged anything after running an offline scan. Also, Haven't run in safemode yet or boot time scan. Finally, when that one time that the blank chrome window popped up, i think i saw something along the lines of "xiansearch". I didn't find anything onle regarding xiansearh or local_game54454874 though.
It's completely up to you but it's a good idea to run more than one security app, consider running malwarebytes or one like it along with your AV. Make sure that all security apps are always up to date, not just their definitions but the programs itself.
If you are worried you might be infected always disconnect from the internet right away, it's best to run a boot time scan and start windows in safemode. Boot time scan will scan all processes as they load up and safemode will start window theoretically with only the essentials running.
Run a full scan with both / all security apps (don't run them at the same time). Make sure you keep a recent restore point but remember sometimes a restore point will not be enough and you will have to do a format and reinstall. While most people are ok with a standard format the safest way (considered overkill) is to do a low level format or zero-filling. This essentially wipes all data.
I'll add a few links here but
please make sure to read up on the security app and make sure to
read up on AND double check all information I've shared here.
