Hi! I would like to hear your suggestions and tips when ranking a games and the Devs.

Here's an example of what I did:
^Poring
Attack it Devil Legion - Great artsyle, 2D, Pixel art, mid gameplay 4/5
notes*
Hentai Scenes are great but the gameplay is confusing, lack of explanation on what status effect do and skill description is vague (for me atleast)

it felt lacking or rather it doesn't help what make the games standout (I don't know how to word it)

Thx for your time!

When I rate a game I have a format.
1. I put the version of the game I reviewed right at the top of the rating.

2. Then I put a TLDR list in spoiler tag to summarize my rating.

3. Then I put an overview of the rating, I.E. the main content of the rating and contains just your basic review/rating of a game and mentions drawbacks.

Personally I write tend to my reviews like an essay.

I don't search to describe the game, or say what are its good or bad parts, because all this is so subjective; my taste isn't necessarily your taste, so my bad can perfectly be your good. Therefore, I present what I felt, trying to explain why I felt it. This way, readers can more easily define if the game can be interesting for them, or not.

Something that would looks like:

mandatory version reviewed
Version X.Y.Z

A short introduction presenting the game and giving the tone.
The game is about a guy that bitch around all the time but, strangely, seem liked by people he interact about. Slowly but surely he attract the attention of the most beautiful girls in the place, who all want him to teach them what real pleasure is.
While this premise looks really basic, except the fact that for once it's a grumpy MC in place of a loser one, don't get fooled by this simplicity, there's way more than this behind.

More or less long paragraphs focusing on one aspect, with at least one example from the game
The first surprise is MC reluctance. Where games based on such basic premise tend to present us a MC craving to finally loose his virginity, here the MC looks like he want to stay pure (he's too old to be virgin).
This is hinted right from the starts since the first scene is two friends of the MC trying to accompany them to a strip club, almost forcing them. It's especially the contrast between them, who looks like going there is the only way they have to see some girl flesh, and the MC who just want to go home and sit a beer in hand, that carry this feeling. But, while the friends will stay thirsty from starts to stop, at least so far, the MC will slowly evolve. But is it really an evolution...

It's here that the game stand out the most, because it's a corruption game where you're never sure who is corrupting who. As I said, the MC will evolve, opening more and more to sex and perversity, all this due to the girls surrounding him. But, are they really doing this willingly?
Take by example the first, partial, nudity scene. MC and Amy are training in a deserted gym, with Amy trying to flirt with him. She'll end showing him her bare boobs, but not to attract his attention. No, she'll do it out of challenge, in response to short dialog ending with MC saying that "there's near to 8 billions boobs on Earth, whatever yours looks like, they can't be this exceptional".

And it's here that you starts to wonder if MC apathy isn't just a play to force girls into corruptions. Wanting him to notice them, and seeing that he's surrounded by girls at least as beautiful as them, they slowly, but surely, escalate in they attempt to achieve this. And, god, it can escalate really high.
There's by example that time where MC and Sandy are in the sauna, but wearing a towel. Then, enter Gwen, that was clearly looking for him since he was supposed to go to see a movie with her. Instead of throwing a tantrum, starting a jealousy scene, she did the opposite, saying that she don't care to share. And to demonstrate her willingness, she go down on Sandy, preparing her for MC's dick.

Be noted that, when I say that MC is surrounded by beautiful girls, I mean it. The girls doesn't have top model bodies, but the CGs really focus on their best part, making them marvelous despite their possible flaw. You know, like that girl you cross in the street, wearing a jumper that hide her curves, but whose eyes are so marvelous that you'll dream about her for years.

Then, a small conclusion to summarize and explain the number of stars.
In the end, it's a game that don't stand out at first glance, but that hook you after five minutes, if not less, trying it. It's rare that I do this, but I found nothing bad to say about it, hence the five stars.

Note: it's obviously a pure imaginary game, and any resemblance with a well known modder is purely coincidental, I swear :giggle:

Always remember to start with the version number. Everyone kinda has their own format of reviewing.

Ideally if I care enough and have the time and memory accuracy is to:
Quick Summary of the game, a tldr version (a sentence or two).
For each tag the game has rank/rate a how well they did for that tag, followed by why, and my own experience/preference of that tag.
Do unlisted and unique things about the game rank/rating(s) like i did for the tags.
Summarize what works and what doesn't for me and the game in general.
Then Summarize the game as a whole and final thoughts and rank/ranting.

This is just one way to go about it but their are many other styles and ways to do it.
