Hello,

I recently upgraded from a Windows PC to an iMac and am trying to continue playing some of my games where I left off. In the past, when moving between Windows PCs, I was able to locate the game’s Save folder, copy my save files, and transfer them to the new computer after reinstalling the game. This process always worked smoothly.

Now that I'm using a Mac, things seem a bit different. I’ve installed the macOS versions of the same games, but I can’t find where the new save files are being stored on my iMac. The folder structure is completely different from Windows, and there doesn't seem to be a clearly labeled Save or Saved Games folder.

My main question is:
Is it possible to use my old Windows save files with the macOS version of the game? If so, what steps do I need to take to locate the correct folder on my Mac and make sure the save files are compatible?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated — especially if someone could walk me through the process or point me to a relevant guide or forum post. I’d also be happy to provide the names of the games in question if that helps.

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance!

from your post history i'm assuming you mean games created with renpy.
saves end up in:
Code:
Mac OS X:
~/Library/RenPy/game_directory
but i think it should also work to put them inside the app package at
Code:
Contents/Resources/autorun/game/saves
