VN Unity Help with game UI

I want to make a text / messaging based like game like Obey Me or Mystic Messanger. I have found the script on pixelcrusher for the template but there are problems and errors in it which I cant fix because I'm a total newbie in coding
Does anyone have any similar experience in making texting like visual novels? Where we can check the inbox, receive messages, reply to them by making a choice and etc? I hope anyone kind can help me with this
