I would make the reverse wish: many optional villians with different flavors of NTR, and you can select and mix who becomes the antagonist (kinda like in Scars of Summer) and just one FMC

Only that your wish isnt possible anymore, as there are already four definite female characters that have already been designed, have backgroud stories, character sprites and more.

The male characters on the other hand have none of this yet. There are no sprites for them yet, no background stories, etc.

So this wish at least has a somewhat realistic layer, even though you might have a different opinion.

Well we all know that you cant please everyone, thanks for the wise words, but dont worry N_Taii always considers and does what he is happy with in the end and wont change everything just because I write so in one sentence.

Still as a part of the community, I'd like to express what I'd like to see in the future, and thats only two male antagonists, especially because both HC1 and HC2 had a plethora of antagonists and it would make for a good change. If things stay absolutely the same in each game things get boring, so I like it if there are some basic changes from game to game, that make things a little less predictable, even though the style stays the same... and I dont mean just different characters and stories. Real variety comes with changes that happen on a more basic level, so thats why.

Also, feedback was mos of the times that people only liked one or two of the antagonists, so this might be one reason. Also less antagonists could mean a deeper character-bound story, a more detailed corruption process etc. More characters always take time from each other, and even though I find it important to have some different characters, I think there is a balance in a game that should be kept. Most games here on f95zone feature tons of characters to get everyone to play there games. This happens on the expense of good story and character development/depth. HC2 (look at the critcs way back) also had a big problem with its characters and was criticised a lot for it (women all reacting the same way to corruption, all are housewives, etc.). And I am a fan of deep stories, character development especially in connection with corruption stories. And its just a fact that you can bring more depth to each characters with the less characters you have. Thats why N_Taii moved from having 2 female main and 3 female side characters in HC2 to 2/2 in HC3. Still I feel thats not enough of a cut. But instead of kicking one more female character he could go from 4 antagonists to 3 for example. And then one of the antagnoist takes two of the female characters giving him a badass archenemy kind of vibe. So then it would only be 3 antagonists and 4 female characters next to the MC. I would like it even more with only 2 antagonists but maybe that could be a compromise...

I hear what you say, although the main reason for me having 1 antagonist for 1 female character was mainly to vary personalities and fetishes (Goras with the daddy fetish, the prof' with his pregnancy fetish, and BDSM for Belanor). Less antagonists would mean less variety in scenes and fetishes, and I prefer to have "a little bit for everyone", as I've had people telling me they preferred one side story or another. Besides, they writing gets more fun that way.

Another reason is that if everyone has their own pairing, the story gets less convoluted and its easier for me to develop without getting a headache. If one antagonist is involved in two side-stories, I have to make sure there is never any duplicate. Say antagonist A appears on Soldath for quest 1 of storyline 1, then I can never put any quest with him from storyline 2 on Soldath, because, depending on players' progression, then he might appear in two locations at once. When there's 1-2 quests, it's fine, but when I get to 10+ quests always having to keep in mind where the antagonist could be in both storyline 1 and storyline 2, and to make sure he's always in one place at once, it's a recipe for headache and bugfests. However, if I keep with the formula: 1 antagonist per woman (and per storyline), I always know exactly where they are, and it makes things a lot easier for me.
(Example: Solana and Merith were present in Thania's quest 2 on Wedath morning, when you need to talk to them with Alen in your party. As a result, I could never place any of Solana's storyline quest on Wedath morning, because if players had left off Thania's storyline exactly at quest 2, it would invariably mean Solana would be in two places at once. Same with Aywin briefly popping up in one of Neve's side-quest.)

As I said, I will be thinking about it more in-depth once HC2 is done, but having the same character appear in different storylines was a real nightmare to handle in HC2, especially towards the end with tons of quests and characters everywhere.

Definitely a good idea. I love pixel art because it's easier to add movement to the scenes and make them feel a lot more alive. Also, due to it being cheaper, you can add a lot more of it^^

And do you commission them in batches (i.e., "here's the pose, and I need a variant of it for Aywin, Thania, etc.) or just get a "basic" version that you modify yourself for each character that uses it?

It depends on the artist, obviously, but for example, the animations for HC2 came at around 20$ per animation. Those for HC3 will cost more because the models are more complex, although I'm not exactly sure how much.
I commission batches of several basic versions (missionary, cowgirl, doggy, etc...), and always request the heads to be completely bald and in the same position as a walking sprite sheet (facing front, left/right, or back). That way, I can copy paste the head onto the bald sprite and have an animation with different characters pretty easily. For all the additions (clothes, underwear, etc...) I mostly do them myself, but it takes time^^

Well, the reason it's going to be shorter is mostly because there's going to be one less female character in total. Also, the removal of mini-games should make development slightly faster as well.

That's possible, but in Henteria's NTR, the male is dominant and the female passive, at least at the beginning. Thus, it's mostly going to be the man who's going to determine the fetishes during sex scenes. I could go for one antagonist enacting different fantasies with different girls, but it would seem a bit less logical and realistic from a story POV that the antagonist would indulge into a certain fetish with one girl, but not the other.

If only the only issue was that it got confusing after a while, I could still somehow do it. But another problem, as I've stated above, is that using the same characters in different storylines becomes more and more limiting as time passes.
I've used the example of Solana being used in quest 2 of Thania's storyline on Wedath morning. Since there is always a possibilty that the player might have stopped at this quest and not do it any further, then Solana would permanently remain on the main map on Wedath morning until the quest is over. As a result, I was never able to add Solana during this timeframe in her own storyline or in a freeroam event, because that would create a duplicate with Thania's storyline. Thus, I had to give up on Wedath morning for most Solana related content, and always chose another timeframe.
Now imagine a character that appears in every single quest of two different storylines. I'd have to make sure they never take place on the same timeframe. Then, if you add possible freeroam events related to said storylines and both involving the same antagonist, that would be far too limiting. I'd be stuck with close to no available timeframes by the end of the game.
That's probably why I'm going to have to stick with the one antagonist- one protagonist formula. Simply because on an open map with several independent storylines, it really is the most viable option when considering both development and story.
I'm sorry about that, and thank you too. Thanks to suggestions given to me, it helps me better reflect on the game itself and what I could and couldn't do. : )

But I know that investments are especially heavy at the beginning of the game, so I hope to be able to replenish said savings in the months after release. We'll see.

Just asking, take your time - it's even better that you try to polish and add more content to the game. So I can safely wait.

As for the continuation theme, I hope it won't be so "generic" as my imagination tells me. Because from what I've read it would look like for example 3 "pairs" plus our hero? The game will be clearer, but on the other hand I'm afraid that it will be too predictable.

I generally love choices in games, it would be nice if there was something more besides those at the end. And all of them don't have to be elaborate, sometimes just superficial or situational. For example, our hero comes up with an idea to prevent the opponent during his "courtship" and manages to save the situation, or has to lead the exchange of ideas in a specific way, or agree to some additional humiliation, or fight a battle (not necessarily mechanically complex, but just tedious to make the player feel in the shoes of the hero) something like that, there are many options ;x

Yeah I understand that! I already have the references for my characters of all the next games, and I will need a lot of resources for every new game. For now I just hope for the project to keep growing and being able to provide more games and art for them.

My most favorite parts or turn-on moments are where Celia and Aywind get dressed sluttier as the corruption continuing. The bikini scene was really hot and sexy. If u can i want mr.devs to emphasizes more on sprite where female characters dress a naughty micro-bikini, or a thong underwear would make their butt pop out as, or maybe a tatoo to show their corruption,for example in kitchen sex with Aywind and Zeno, u could make her wear a naked apron which is super hot and really show her corruption for zeno. I hope u will make more scenes like this in next projects.

Hopefully after this you'll be scaling back to 3 endings for HC3. This development cycle for all these endings has been a slog. If you had a team helping with the workload I could see keeping 4 endings. But as it's just you doing the work, you should really go back to 3 planned endings as was originally intended for HC2.

has been one of my main wishes for a long time ^^ I proposed this to N_Taii on several different occasions. Lets see whether in HC 3 we get more of that. As far as I can tell, he said that he hired a new artist for sprite clothing only. So there is a realistic chance that we get more variations in the outfits and with that also a more visual focus on the change happening to the female MCs over the corruption progress. I would really love it.

Also as you mentioned I would love to see tattoos, body paintings and piercings and not only cloths to show the corruption progress. Just imagine the princess MC at the peak of her corruption attending a formal meeting and trying to hide her nipple piercings and "Daddy's cumwhore"-tattoo beneath her cloth. But shes wearing no bra and people get a glimpse of her hard nipples and everyone gets horny oggling the princess.... this paradox between the reality she wants to create and what is actually happening is one of the fine traits of a good NTR story
