I wouldn't ask for content in the west community. We don't know what's popular in Japan, and some of that content is banned here.
As for learning, there's no "universal" coding, it highly depends on the game engine you want to use. Each game engine uses a different programming language.

A lot of Japanese people use RPG Maker, I guess that would be the more "gamey" option.

Yo, Renpy was easy to learn for me with no programming knowledge. To my opinion Renpy is not limited to visual novels (thanks to 'screens'). As a gamer, I enjoy rpgm games too because of the premade fighting system but most of time they fall into the 'boy messenger or errand boy' system and become boring.
thanks for all the help. i learned so much about ren'py and im starting to write the story now. i made up everything on my mind and need to write it down on a pdf. so i assume everything gonna take like 3-4 or maybe more months cus im a newbie. thanks for all the comments.
