So i'm an engineering student that can do C/C++ programming, i can do some python/java/web dev, i'm just wondering is there any money in this adult game dev? Also maybe if someone can give me a bit of guidance or tips or anything that can be of help, thank you

I would say it's a pretty lucrative field. Theres a recruitment section in the forum where people look for collaborators. So it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want to make a game yourself there's a section with game dev tips and guides. I could find the links for you if you want something specific or you can look around yourself its really straightforward. Or if you wanna talk about porn and jerking off I'm down for that especially

If you want to create your own games, the main tip I can give you is that you shouldn't start working on this with the goal of making money right away, otherwise you'll end up frustrated and abandoning your project, as many do.

There are, indeed, creators who make a lot of money in this niche, but they are a minority who usually spent years building a fanbase and perhaps benefited from appealing to specific audiences.

Since you're a programmer who knows python, I would recommend initially focusing your efforts on learning . Then, depending on your available hardware and budget, consider learning how to use or even to create your assets. Many also use and , but this will limit your monetization options.

Depends, if you aim down the "I want to make a game" road, the path may be tough.

But if you go down the "I'm an experienced programmer who can help you with your project", there's probably instant money for you, but do be sure to get a contract with specific milestones and pay so you don't either not get paid or not paid quickly/sufficiently enough. You can also go for up front but that tends to be tougher.

You can also join another preexisting project as a programmer but you'll also have a ton of labor. Most people are "ideas guys", so if you have come from the industry you can consider them clueless stakeholders. Don't get involved with a project spinning its wheels for years, those are bound to disappoint and probably not pay what you are after.

Also if you are a professional programmer, there's probably nothing here anywhere in this industry, even AAA gaming, that would pay you what you are worth in the corporate/enterprise world. Don't go into it thinking you'll replace a lucrative professional career, I don't think it is likely to happen. Anything is possible though, but that day job should probably be kept!

Depends on a lot of factors, but first and foremost, all those languages that you mentioned dont really matter in porn game dev, especially when most of the games here are just made by game making tools, and now most stuff can be easily made by AI. Dont wanna piss on your parade, but that's an important thing to know.

The next most important factor is the story and graphics of the game, people will play a text only game if it's good like Lilith's Throne and people will play a game with amazing graphic's even if there is no story at all Being a DIK (just for graphics reference, story is decent), so you really need to know what you are doing, what your goal is.

Now about the money, most games dont make money at all, most who make money are by donations, so that too depends on your game being unique and well made. Most people make these games as a side project, a little by little on weekends, that's why they take years to develop, and you need money to sustain without this income. Then again, there are people who make cookie cutter games and make 100 bucks a month and that's enough passive income for some 3rd world countries.

So make up your mind, if you can do it, make a little demo, watch and learn from the feedback, and then decide what you wanna do.

You just can't make it too hot or you'll end up beating off half the time and you'll end up putting updates out every 15 months or something.
