^ "yes my lord"
that's the one I have not yet played, but look forward to. That developer
Doubles*Core is the newest on my list to look out for. They can write well, both comedy and lewd.
but occasionally it will dip to be lowest level. I am coming to believe raising and then undercutting expectations is a trademark of theirs? for anything, including quality, or where the story seems to be going.
Like, in
From Frontier for example you get a tentacle monster scene. So, yeah, we all know how that goes ... and just when you think this, it goes some most unexpected way
The late game increasingly had me expecting the worst, ever since
soso and not given a choice, all "yeah, let's push this >>
warning! Imminent DOOM!<< button ..."
and then ultimately the least expected character saves the day, in the most unforeseen way (by bringing up all the objections I had), and even more: I can not remember any game or story overall that dared to take this approach.
I hope their other games will also be as full of surprise, without it becoming an empty gimmick.
By the way, what can you tell me about Rance series? Specifically about Rance himself.
I have concerns about him, that he might be too disgusting as a main character, and I won't be able to enjoy the game because of it.
I had/ have the very same reservations.
But ever since I read that the (iiuc. female, btw.) writer for
Eiyuu Senki has written for Rance (don't know if for some titles or all of them) I switched from "will never want to play" to "I WILL someday play".
She really knows how to write funny, adorable, silly, cute, and even if given the chance based characters, situations and dialogues. ofc. depends on how much freedom she's given.
(not to say there weren't also cringe things/ situations/ "things")

sorry Arabi1, I can not think of a favourite of mine that is even close to "hidden"
