At least the dev said they were gonna include saves ( not sure if they did or not) But if they did it's better than most dev's that know their game is gonna break saves. But there is no pleasing people even if they take the extra effort for causing an inconvenience

But from your post I can tell you clearly not much of a fan of this game if that gets you to not care for this game. Especially with right click skip or tab skip it takes almost no time to catch back up not alot of choices for it to take a long time. But then you would miss any new content since there is no new chapter just added new scenes to old chapters.

Also thank you for the laugh I look for post like yours on update day to get a good laugh

i will ask nicely for god dammmn last time: why this last update for this game is not workin meanin game dont launch, don t open. and i already put that traceback, that happen when i launch the game and try it to open. is not my fault

It tells you the error...delete it and extract it to shorter path, like put in on your desktop and extract it then try to open it from there.

It loads just fine, the full version and the compressed version.

Now for the bad news: old saves won’t work.

I’m really sorry about this, I know it’s a huge pain. Unfortunately, it ended up being unavoidable. I’ll create a set of saves for anyone who doesn’t want to replay everything and make them available before v0.17 comes out.

The reason this was necessary is because, when I first started Hillside, I had no idea what I was doing. And the code definitely shows it. As the project has grown, those early mistakes, especially confusing variable names, have made things harder and increased the chances of bugs. So I’ve renamed variables, cleaned things up, and reorganized the code.

I had hoped I could do all this without breaking old saves, but because of how the code was originally structured, that wasn’t possible. To make everything more resilient going forward, I had to restructure it, which took more time than expected.

Since saves were going to break anyway, I decided to finally switch to the latest version of Ren’Py. I’d been avoiding this for a long time because the big update from Python 2 to Python 3 caused save issues back then, so I stuck with the older version. But now we're using the latest version.

Because of this extra work, I didn’t finish everything I wanted to. I planned to improve Lucy and Kaylah’s first sex scenes. The scripts are written, but the images aren’t finished yet, so the updated scenes will be included in v0.17. I also wanted to fix the achievements, but have not done so. I’ll tackle that as soon as I can.

I’ll post a more detailed changelog with the release on Sunday.

Next week, I’ll start work on v0.17 and get back to posting the usual patron rewards, including weekly progress reports and pinups. The next set of preview images will likely come the following week.

The archive, you know the zip/rar file that has the game, to your desktop, on your PC...delete what you extracted already then move/copy the rar/zip to your desktop, extract and start it.

Bruh, the dev hasn't even commented on F95 in over a week...

eh id disagree with you on this one since the dev been upfront about all of that for over a year. Only sometime in the last 4 or so months the dev realized saves would break and even told us that would happen. They said they would provide saves at some point unsure if that is gonna happen since SOL didn't see them. But I get your point if you don't follow the game that closely I do so I have a difference stance and opinion on it

There is not now nor has there ever been an incest patch for Hillside.

I don't know of any fanmade patch for this I still don't believe one ever existed I think you just want one to exist. If one does or did id probably not point you towards one as I don't believe it should exist for this story as it would change and ruin the entire premise of the game.

I’m on a laptop too, and the game works perfectly for me in both normal and compressed versions.

I just got the new update, extracted it, and played without any issues. The game started up just fine without any errors whatsoever. So, it’s clear that the issue lies on your end, whether you want to admit it or not. Being rude won’t solve your problem, so please try to be more civil.

I know it can be frustrating, but try to keep your cool, or it might make you seem like a jerk.

Try downloading it again, extracting it properly, and maybe check that the path to the game isn’t too long, as Windows 10 can struggle with folders that have excessively long names. And perhaps make sure your pc meets the requirements for the renpy 8.5 version

As for saves just ctrl through the game or right click on the skip button in quick menu to jump to next choice. It take like 10 minutes max to get where you need.
