Hmph, first I catch a virus that deletes all my appdatasaves and it takes over six months to get all my visual novels (over 150) somewhat up2date again.
Then it seems like a virus breaks out among the developers that's giving almost all the big and good visual novels a remake to make them even better. ^^
I hope it doesn't turn into an epidemic and I have to repeat everything again.
But thankfully, Hillside is one of those visual novels that's always worth replaying.
I'll play it again with Charlotte.
I wanted to wait until it's complete before tackling the other paths.
I also wanted Time to check out some other new visual novels.

wtf is wrong with devs? i lost my entire progress, save in this game and for what? and know same mod i used before on previous update for this game now is not working anymore at all... wtf all devs did now?

Yeah, they wanted to clean up the game (bugs, routes, etc) and redo some of images (make them better) and upgarde Ren'Py.

So that is what they've been doing this whole time, it wasn't a "full rework" like most, as you can see it is still essentially the same game.

The next update whenever that might happen will be a new chapter/episode.

This is what they posted about the save situation and the state of the game. I'm sure it's posted somwhere here already.

Now for the bad news: old saves won’t work.

I’m really sorry about this, I know it’s a huge pain. Unfortunately, it ended up being unavoidable. I’ll create a set of saves for anyone who doesn’t want to replay everything and make them available before v0.17 comes out.

The reason this was necessary is because, when I first started Hillside, I had no idea what I was doing. And the code definitely shows it. As the project has grown, those early mistakes, especially confusing variable names, have made things harder and increased the chances of bugs. So I’ve renamed variables, cleaned things up, and reorganized the code.

I had hoped I could do all this without breaking old saves, but because of how the code was originally structured, that wasn’t possible. To make everything more resilient going forward, I had to restructure it, which took more time than expected.

Since saves were going to break anyway, I decided to finally switch to the latest version of Ren’Py. I’d been avoiding this for a long time because the big update from Python 2 to Python 3 caused save issues back then, so I stuck with the older version. But now we're using the latest version.

Because of this extra work, I didn’t finish everything I wanted to. I planned to improve Lucy and Kaylah’s first sex scenes. The scripts are written, but the images aren’t finished yet, so the updated scenes will be included in v0.17. I also wanted to fix the achievements, but have not done so. I’ll tackle that as soon as I can.

I’ll post a more detailed changelog with the release on Sunday.

Next week, I’ll start work on v0.17 and get back to posting the usual patron rewards, including weekly progress reports and pinups. The next set of preview images will likely come the following week.

Not that I see, checked all the posts and didn't see any saves. Let's be honest most aren't actually "playing" it anyway.
