Unreal Engine - Home Together [v0.39.0] [Home Together Dev]

Going ahead and typing here while this finishes downloading. I am going into this knowing the game is just a tech demo/scene simulator/physics engine. Usually I would not use software like this, I really need a basic gameplay mechanic like Some Modeling Agency. However, I've heard the character customizer is quite nice... So, here's the deal: If I can create a character that is what I like to see in an H game, and if there are some wankable poses/scenes with good controls and such, I will give the game a 4 star review. If not, I will give it a 1 star review. Those are my terms, and my download just finished, so let's see how it goes...

Welp, a bargain was made. Yeah, a few bugs... Yeah, resource hungry... I was skeptical about the character creator because every char I've seen has had life-sized proportions. I like unreal proportions when enjoying unreal women, and this title does not disappoint. So, yeah. If you know what you're getting, it delivers. It's not great, by any means. No replayability imo. But, worth a wank, again - if you know what you're signing up for.

An unreal engine game that's very well optimised along with those graphics is already a good sign. The ingame animator? is easy to grasp as well, like it's just moving limbs, given that it can be improved further, such as pausing and resuming animations, adding different emotions to different keyframes etc. but overall a chefs kiss game

This game has a huge amount of potential. While not really a game but more of a simulator, I would say it still has really solid foundation to be something great. However I would argue that the game needs more updates and fixes regarding performance and less about content.
For example some base facial expressions are straight up from a nightmare. The options for creation are very good but I wouldn't say no to more. I believe the main issue has to do with performance and consistency between character creator and actual gameplay. Hope this one doesn't get abandoned but lives up to its potential.

All the male characters are ugly as hell, but since I prefer futa x female, it's okay.

The game has good physics and graphics, and is relatively well-optimized.

As a scene viewer, there's not much to explore beyond the cutscenes, and they're good. However, I didn't feel like replaying it, maybe when it's complete.

Trying to make a character in this game is like trying to solve a rubex cube while color blind. Once you load into the world, it's wildly different from how it was previewed in the character creation.

My review of game version 0.36.1:
I can say for sure this is not a game, but a pure scene simulator—something like Honey Select. There’s a very limited amount of clothing, facial animations during scenes can be creepy, and there are bugs. A particularly strange issue occurs when the girl's face gets cut off at certain angles during the act.
Visually, the game isn’t particularly beautiful—aside from the main screen design and character customization. This simulator feels more like a foundation for future games that might actually have a storyline, rather than just a collection of scenes with minimal clothing variety. I give it one star because there’s basically no gameplay, and the entire experience becomes boring after 5–10 minutes.

Game version: 0.34

This game is a fuck simulator. Simply as that, so do not expect it to be much more. There is no story (rather short stories/ scenarios to choose from, aside from free roam), there is no progression.

You can choose many different types of women, edit them to your liking or even create your very own slut. The amount of options and presets is enormous.
For my part, I am very happy with the presets.

The core mechanic of this game- the physics- are top-of-the-class. Fluid af, stable and there is already some variety of different positions (not THAT much, but enough). You can move the camera either from a fixed or free perspective, but here comes the bad part:
The camera doesn't work very well yet. The fixed points of the camera will, for some reason, often BLURR everything and therefore make it hard to focus.
I guess this is some kind of bug and will be fixed at some point.. it HAS to.

The content is already very good, with more scenarios, locations and women to be added with each update.

It's good for what it tries to be. Just don't expect too much. It is simply a game where you create a character and then try out different sex scenes. No story other gameplay, keep that in mind and you won't be dissapointed

The game is a demo of the UE5 engine that I still don't understand why it is used because it looks terrible
The game is a simulation where you can wander around the house and have sex with the character and that is basically it may be enjoyable for a few moments but I got bored very quickly because there is not much interaction with the girl it's come fuck her anywhere without a point right it's porn and pornographic games don't need too much depth such as LOST LIVE which has no plot or knowledge of who you are and what you are doing with the girl but you can imagine the story even if it doesn't exist and here you can't because you are a holographic character without a mirror because it could only add to the feeling and imagination

Graphics - 6/10
- Even I'm surprised that I gave a 6/10 to graphics when this is made with UE5 ( 5.2 )

Characters - 10/10
- What I like about this is the ability to make your character, I even saw Brittney from House Party made by someone

Performance - 1/10
- I know it, you know it, we all know it. UE5 is SHIT when it's about performance, if games such as Stalker 2 made by GSC they weren't able to have make their game optimized, you think a game made by some unknown fucker would be good? Fuck no

Bugs - You need more fingers to count them.

Overall -7/10 ( Just because you can make your own character and that there are a ton of s.positions . If it wasn't for these two, it would've been a 4/10 )


Do better, and never use UE again.
UE5 IS NOT for games.

The game has very nice and neat main menu, first impression, presentation, interface and so on in small but very important details. But the VR mode is actually just as experimental as it is said by developers! I'd say even more - it's unplayable! Due to performance issues and obvious unfinished work in general.

Have tested it for around an hour or two.

Initially it reminded me of Honey-Select 2 with better graphics but fewer options.
The physics here are slightly better, the animations a bit smoother and there is not so much clipping.

But it shares the problems with lighting, what is really annoying:
sometimes body/hair/clothes seems to be self-illuminated, sometimes they are much darker/brighter than in the creator, sometimes they have strange reflections - everything depending on the position on the map.
The unmodified teeth of my model, for example, are white in the creator and turn to black (!) when i enter the h-scene...
Additionaly it's badly optimized and laggy.

The graphic-quality of the animations is good, but you can only speed up/down the movements, it lacks in variation.
And specially the facial expressions are non-existent or creepy in most cases.
The (missing) eye-movement and the looking-point is also a bit strange.

It has an interesting "bounce-mode" in h-scenes which pushes the penis forward when you press space - thats kind of a good idea.
You can grab the breasts with the mouse what is also a nice feature.
But overall the controls are awkward and you get no feeling out of it.

And what is most important: there is nothing more than those half-baked animations.
Since it's already 2 years in developement i don't think you should expect much more to come.

So, this "3D sex simulator" comes with good graphics, but without any gameplay or amusement.
The bugs and the unfinished and unpolished UI and controls are killing every vibe.

In other words: it's a tech-demo that pretends to be a game.
Skip it.

A weird but interesting idea, but poor in execution.

I can't see how this would ever not be boring. Obviously theres little interaction, just sex simulation and that means ever little flaw in that simulation is amplified. The graphics in game are much worse than the menu.

Also the camera is weirdly high like the player is 7ft tall

What do we have a year and a half later? Hmm... LITERALLY NOTHING

A few improvements here and there, a few sex positions..

Some will say, but there is a possibility to create mods, you can do anything! NO, if you try to create something, you'll realize it doesn't work well.

Maybe they added some plot to the GAME after a year and a half? NO. It's still just as technical demo version.

Customization? Very limited, you either create almost identical models or create ugly ones.

The only good thing of this game is the graphics, which really look good, BUT you need a really good computer, as the game lacks optimization.

But it begs the question, why would you want a game that you don't play but watch? Better watch porn.

UPD.
Another year - still NOTHING.

Good visuals, good character creation and good animations. For now that's the only thing that the game has for itself. It definitely has lots of potential and I'm definitely curious to see what the dev can pull off out of this game. But for now there's really nothing going for it. I really wanna see this game take that next big step, maybe some dating sim elements but it definitely needs more gameplay elements to make me want to play more than 30 minutes.

Highly customizable. Basically a make your waifu and go to town game for now. The game use a very clever QR code like system to determine all the parameters of all the characters and positions so what you'd be downloading are essentially just some png files. Players are posting all kinds of content in discord everyday, it's great.
The devs promised there'll be a story down the line. Really intrigued to see what this will eventually turn into.

Edit: 8 months later... The version number advance 0.01 per month, which is completely insane, at this rate we're gonna get the full 1.0 version after 6 and a half years jfc. They'll be getting roughly a million dollar in funds to develop this game in that time frame.
It's fucking insane things are moving this slow and the haven't dish out any meaningful content yet. It's all unreal engine tweaks and some voiced lines here and there. Do they really need hundreds of thousands of dollar to do that?

This is not a game, and I doubt it ever will be. The character customisation is extremely limited and there is no meaningful interaction whatsoever. As a tech demo it's not even remarkable; the performance is horrendous. It's currently a 3D animation viewer with a very small number of disconnected animations. I truly do not understand how people can enjoy this type of thing. Just go watch a porn video if you don't want interactivity!

- Some of my suggestions may be difficult to implement. I am not a game developer and do not know how challenging it is to implement changes.
- I may have duplicate suggestions as I did not read previous reviews.

1. Gameplay & UI - 2/5

The lobby is the standout aspect.

1.1. UI - 3/5

The aesthetic is beautiful, but it needs improvement.

1.1.a. Pros

- The main menu/lobby is very polished and visually appealing.
- The in-game menu is also acceptable.

1.1.b. Cons

- The in-game menu is not as visually appealing as the lobby.
- During sex, there is a lack of descriptive icons, and all insertions are represented by a flower.
- There is a lack of sidebar menu button description labels during sex.
- There is a lack of hover detail: hovering over buttons displays nothing or the button's instance name.
- The posture selection menu is buggy: it initially displays all postures, but then all but the first one disappear. They gradually re-appear as you use other sex spots. A better approach would be to display everything all the time or only relevant things, not to mix them.
- The "E - Interact" floaty button functionality can be extended, such as light on/off, doors, etc.
- There is a lack of a smooth transition when starting or changing actions during sex.
- Menus may need a translucent, black background to make the buttons more visible.

1.2. Gameplay - 1/5

1.2.a. Pros

- The sex animation is good (except for the insertion part).

1.2.b. Cons

- There is no story background or brief.
- There is limited interaction: you can only interact with the girl, and there is nothing else to do other than sex.
- The number of postures is limited.
- The limited actions are further limited by the existence of "sex spots," which makes actions a hard-coded looping sequence of animations.
- There is no smooth transition between actions (actions stopped, participants teleported).
- The up-and-down motion when moving can cause motion sickness. The movement period is short, and the amplitude is small make it so abrupt.
- The girl AI is bad: she starts moving away even if you are far away from her.
- Overworld movement is too rigid.
- Clothes feel like plastic.
- The clothes control is too simple: it's either on or off, which doesn't look good. A third "half-open" state would be appreciated.
- It would be preferable to have a separate area for each room to reduce the number of useless things that need to be loaded into memory.
- There are performance issues: occasional camera stutter with RTX-3050, 16GB LPDDR5, Ryzen 5 6600HS. So either HW detection is wrong, or optimization is wrong.

2. Customization - 4/5

The game is highly customizable, although the cycle-style menu for clothing customization may not be the best idea.

2.1. Pros

- The game is highly customizable, with every aspect imaginable being customizable and a lot of sliders available. (*MVP)
- The character card is a great feature.
- There are a lot of pre-configured character cards to play with.

2.2. Cons (minor)

- There is extensive detailed customization, but basic customization options are lacking, which makes it easy for new players to mess up.
- The names in the "Genitals" section can be confusing. You have to adjust every slider a bit to see its effect, but it may still be difficult to understand what each slider does. These code names also make it hard to mix and match values.
- Using cycle-style widgets for style customization is not a good idea due to the large number of options. Submenus with thumbnails would be more user-friendly. (this one's taking the point away)
- There is no manual value input, so sliders are the only option. It's difficult to set a value precisely and quickly.
- Card sharing is a subreddit.
- Male customization is lacking.

3. Graphics - 3/5

At a glance, the models look good, and the characters are beautiful. The house is also very detailed.

However, the facial expressions of the characters are a bit scary and too intense. This is especially noticeable when the camera suddenly zooms in on their faces when pushed against a wall. Even the included cards have this issue.

During sex, the characters hardly express anything, and the mouth motions do not sync with speech. While perfect lip sync is not necessary, at least having the mouth open and close at the right time would be an improvement. The cum animation is also a bit weird and cum model looks like spider webs. The "Cum on face" animation is especially creepy, with a big, thick, white stripe of something stuck right in the middle of their face.

4. Replayability - 2/5

Creating a character can be a pain for a regular player, and although there are enough pre-configured cards, players may eventually get bored due to the lack of gameplay, interaction or story.

I hope that the game can create a community like Koikatsu or Honey Select, with modders willing to expand the game's functionality and card creators creating beautiful cards, distributing them either free or paid.

5. Conclusion - 11/20 (2.75/5, rounded to 3)

This is still a new game, and many improvements are needed. I am looking forward to seeing how things worked out.

6. Should You Play It?

If you want to view high-quality sex animations, get your hands dirty with the character creator, or experiment with the experimental pose maker, then go ahead and try it out. Consider supporting their Patreon if possible.

If you are looking for a more polished experience or a story, it might be best to wait. However, from what I have seen so far, it may be worth the wait.
