RPGM - House Chores [Beta v0.20.1] [Siren's Domain]

A pretty disappointing new game from an otherwise pretty good developer. Compared to town of passion and zombie's retreat, the writting is very poor. I mean, don't get me wrong the other two games aren't exactly literary masterpieces, but at least the games had a sense of flow to it. Characters would go from one stage of their relationship to the other, step by step, usually with an event inbetween each step.

In here, there's no such thing. Son becomes horny for mom for the first time after looking at her ass, because aparently he never realized her legs were attached to her body before, and mother just decided he's earned a handjob for the incredible perception it takes to realize that yes, indeed, her legs are atached to her body. And then we get introduced to the rest of the family, which are probably just as horny. Sister isn't really relevant yet but the first conversation aunt are already telling enough to pin her as the classic cliche of the horny aunt that works as a plot device to develop mom/son relationship.

It would always be cliched, of course, it's a game about the young guy trying to get it in with all his family members, we've seen it a thousand times before. But it didn't have to suck, especially not with good art, and especialy not from a distinguished dev

Good Points
+ Art style looks kind of good...
+ We have animations for sex scenes.

Bad Points
- Plot and story are pretty empty, unoriginal, and basic. I mean we don't have any plot or story at all...
- Classic RPGM bullshit problems we all know... Annoying HUD, only 20+ save files while Renpy games now have 999+ pages, not files! Unstable, not working text hide feature which is mostly just skipping text until there is no text... No gallery despite having a very low amount of save files...
- Like nearly all RPGM games this one also lacks images. For example, the scene says: ''Touch her ass.'' or ''slap her ass'' and you click the option but you see no picture of you touching that ass or slapping... And even in scenes, we have a picture for those types of things we mostly have only one picture and tons of text... Complete disappointment...
- For seeing scenes with girls/women you need to grind...
- We have animations for sex scenes but I'm not gonna say they are good points because of a couple of reasons... First of all, we have two animation styles. The first style is for dream and long-distance ones, they are not good and they do look kind of funny. The second style is for main scenes and they are average at most, but we only have fake speed options (3-5fps low speed, 5-10fps medium speed, 10-20 fps normal speed, and 20-30fps fast speed) and only one animation/position/angle for that sex scene, which makes sex scene boring... And lastly, DEV acts like the same animations with different clothes or different places (like the laundry room, living room, etc) is new content... You just watching the same animation in a different place and with different clothes over and over again as ''new content'' and that's jut nonsense AF. Sex scenes need more angles/positions and different animations for different scenes for sure!
- This game is in development for more than 3 years and... I have seen far longer demo adult games... It's just totally unacceptable with this level of content with 3 years of development and heck without grind game is even shorter!

For The End
Right now this is just a waste of time. Nothing more or nothing less. DEV can fix bad points and make this game great but I guess that's not going to happen considering this game is already 3 years old with no content and with old bad points exist for years... What can I say? Big waste of great potential...

Something about the art is special and draws me back to replay some scenes . The story isn't Kafkaesque but does it has be ? i enjoy the simple concepts and close environment. I hope the developer keeps up the quality this high and this early stage leaves alot of play room to evolve the game.

Standard VN gameplay, nothing remarkable.
Hella buggy too.

But what bothers me the most is the fact that this already have more than one year since the first release, and still got barely 20 minutes of content.
I wouldn't call this a "low priority project" in the moment that this project (I refuse to call it a game) got it's own patreon page, and with already 900 bucks/month.
This is pure patreon-milking given form. Just shameful.

At least the art is nice. Both ToP and ZR are pretty good games but the art style on them just doesn't gets me. I guess that this will be my first chance of truly enjoying a Siren's game.
I mean, in some years. When the content will sum up half an hour, by the actual rhythm.

0.4 edit: another 2 months for another micro update. Not checking it out again til the Completed tag pops out.

House Chores 0.3.1 Review:

So far so good. Right now this game is ver short, i'm talking about less then 30 minutes of gameplay here, so it's like more a proof of concept to see if the devs can get money on patreon to complete the game. It's just still really early to make a in deep review about this game, so instead i will just list some general stuff this game contains.

-Art is really good, it's certainly done by someone who knows what they're doing, professional and competent on it's purpose. Without a doubt the best thing this game has to offer in its current state.

-Still talking about art but now going to the topic of hentai stuff, all scenes are animated or at least have 2 or 3 frames to simulate some kind of animation (it's just one minor scene, all others are way better animated), huge plus for that.

-Now talking about story, right now it's rushed and straight to the main point with is incest, if you have read manga hentais that have 30 pages or less in total you khow what i mean with that. This can be seem as either a good or bad thing, it depends if you're looking for a game with smut over sex. I dunno if the devs are planning go in this way or maybe add more story focus stuff (they probably will since there is almost no content here).

-Although the RPG maker is not the best engine for making a visual novel, the developers certainly are doing a great job here. So I can say that for now you can completely ignore the initial reviews that complain about the use of a bad engine for the game, they were possibly talking about when the game was still being made in Visual Novel Maker.

My final thoughts about this project: It's really component so far, maybe after a few years (Like 2 to 5 years) when a hopeful final release is made i will be back here to make a more in deep review about it. I recommend you to check it out if you never played it before, and if you have some money to spare, consider helping them on patreon, they have other game projects as well.

The art and the story as of now (0.3.1) is decent, If siren focuses on it in full, we got a real contender here. He should put all his attention on this. After finishing the Town Of Passion of course.

i kinda like the faster escalation of the game its like a breath of fresh air when compared to most games here and the art is really pretty, cant wait till further updates ill be watching closely

Review for v0.2.9.1

Very simple point-click game, but that doesn't make it bad by any means..
Plot/story is very simple as well, just a boy doing chores during summer and trying to get some sexy stuff, which is fine
Visually, it's a very good game.. I like the art style, female characters are pretty hot, and animations are nice... I don't like that MC looks too young tho but whatever

The only downside so far is that this game has very very little content so far.. Handjob is as far as you can go so far.. And only one character to interact.. Hoping for fast updates

House Chores 0.2.9.1 review

Greetings
I'll try to be brief and concise

General points:
-The game style is a Point & Click VN, which I think is a right point that works very well on this kind of proposals, making a simpler but better game instead of the RPG system used on previous works.
-Art style is great and attractive. (In addition, the animations seems to be pretty good). This artist (Sassquatch) was a great choice for this one.
-The plot is still quite simple, a guy on summer holidays doing naughty stuff around the house. It's works considering the enviroment, but it could be better. They are probably developing this one yet(I hope).
-Character desings fits very well on this one, and I love them, especially Emily, I'm hoping to see more about her soon in the future.
-The code seems to be very clean, since I did not find any bug yet.

Conclusion

The proposal is simple and solid. The game is still on its begins, and lack a lot to see a bit more integrated result or complete. As I said before, the story is one of the weakest points, since it needs more development. The combination of each element on this game, keeps you intrigued to see what will happen on next updates. Also, the work is a very clean and professional asset, since they are dedicating high quality resources.

I really enjoy the art style of this game. It's just the right amount in between cartoony and realistic. Props to Sassquatch . Siren is experienced at creating rpg style games so it will be interesting to see how a VN turns out. So far there is not too much content but the scenes in the game right now show promise.

This developer keeps offering us a lot of fun with his games.
I am suspicious about making this comment because I prefer games with 2D art and I always try to support these works.
Despite the mishaps of the first release. Siren's found his way back to his safe haven: RPGM platform.
Many may not like RPGM, but when a developer knows what he does, no matter what platform, the game is good.
I particularly like RPGM, it gives me a feeling of nostalgia for old games.
After the artists of Town of Passion and Scarlet Ann in Zombie´s Retreat, now we have Sassquatch bringing us fine art in this new game. I just cross my fingers so that Sassquatch can keep working until the end and if possible maybe in future works, for real, his art is top notch.

Good start for the game and art is well made so far and I am looking forward for the next update and completion of the game and even if it is short I think it will be a good time killer at the very least .

[Review for v0.2]
Well, first of all, this is a very early version, almos like a demo or a presentation of what will come in a future. Don't expect much material in this early phase.
Why I give 5 stars? Well, right now the cuality of the content is excellent, both art and gameplay.
Art is really smooth, very high detailed and kind of realistic.
Gameplay is hard to rate since there's not much but all is intuitive, basically is a point and click, and it seems it will display some decisions in the furure to choose.

I can not (And I won't) rate story-telling since there's not enough to do it, but (my personal opinion) coming from Sirens it will be envolving and smooth, like the other games developed from him.

CONCLUSION: It is a 15 minute gameplay which displays great art, easygoing gameplay and shows what is going to be in the future, so play it and judge yourself.

Played the demo which reminded me of the dat ass gamer mom short comic meme. really promising and polished art as always. looking forward to future updates. honestly even though the dev said it will be a really short game I want it to be expanded

The art is great and the animations are pretty cool, despite the fact that I only remember one xD

I don't like games in rpgmaker, I prefer renpy, although I guess they couldn't put those animations in that engine, I would have preferred animations with images but in renpy.

The story is a regular one, a boy who lives at home with his mother and sister.

Bugged can't end the beta 0.2 so my mt Rationg at the moment is 1 star because i can't even test the game.
Hope for a fix soon, i trie to start again the story but nothing happens.
Waiting for a new version.

V0.01 Review
This is good, Its short given its new but does pack more content than one would expect, which showcase what you'll be given in the coming future, the art was great, and the short animation was equally as good, there's not much to say about the writing itself other than its what you've seen a thousand times except the pacing is extremely fast.

Not much to say about the engine other than I kept closing it on accident because escape closes the game, and in general feels clunkier to navigate the menu/save/etc..

If it wasn't for the art I'd probably be giving this a 2 star, if not a 1.

The art is nice but the engine used is aweful, I don't know why devs are switching to it, esc closes the game? no volume controls? just aweful.

Wasn't a fan of the story either, kinda felt like a bad version of summertime saga.

The story can be better, it deserves 3 stars, but...

But the art is really good and this game has potential with more milfs(i looove Mom), content(not is necesary a big and dramatic history, make it slow to unlock scenes, a little)

I really hope more content, nice game. I repeat, this game can be better, I trust that.
