VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Housekeeper [v0.4] [Derrek]

This game is great.
It may seem ridiculous at first but the story and the characters grow on you quickly. The dev's sense of humour is great, the TV show had me laughing more than once.
You can tell that the dev didn't start his game as the best writer in the business but he is getting better and he is working hard on his stuff.
The renders are great and, the girls are hot and are not your usual stock character.
I want to see more. Keep up the good work.

If the game tones down the maid fetish a bit, for instance removing half of the mentions of the word "maid" it will gain some quality.

We know, she is a maid and she has to do maid stuf.
Yeah, you dont want her to sleep in the same bed as you, but the first choice you get as a player is perving on her or not. Why sleeping with a beauty when you can watch her while she is changing clothes? Thats what every moddle age men want!
The important decision is made by the script and the pointless decisions that probably dont make sense with the plot decision, those are for the player.

This seems to be one of those "male domination" games that in reality is douchebag asshole MC with plot armor.

This game is about a maid, and for the first 10 minutes the word is constantly repeated and is like the dev wants you to read the word and masturbate to it.

Look at the sinopsis:
"How will it turn at the end?" I mean the MC is an asshole, how can it end if the script has already decided his personality. I would persnally recommend rewriting the beggining and giving the player the option to chose and plan the routes accordingly.

Deciding to peep or not was what i was doing when i was 10 visitin my older cousins.

TL;DR = This game has really weird sense of humour. Its mostly parody of typical adult video games tropes. If you can laugh at that then you will love it. But if you wont find it funny then it will be bad.

Story: 4/5
+ Story is a serious rollercoaster. Main character used to be some sort of abusive AAA asshole who lived his youth by fucking, abusing and humiliating females and turning them into sluts... But then he meets this hot female spy/assassin/hacker and everything changes. Now he turned into some secret vigilante who goes after corrupt politicians. YAY.
Story gets more iteresting when his possible daughter this random female teen starts living with him and works as his maid.
+ Basically whole plot is making fun of tropes in adult video game industry.
+ This game is full of ridiculous situations. You will either laugh or completely hate it.

Art: 5/5
+ Girls are hot.
+ Developer has done pretty good job with renders. Sometimes he captures scenes from artistic angles and it gives the scenes nice dynamics.
- Game is still early development. There isnt much sexual content.

Gameplay: 3/5
+ English is decent.
+ Game is typical VN with choices.
- Choices dont have any meaningful impact at this point. Just some flavour text and and different renders. Lets hope it will improve in future.

+ This game is pretty entertaining. If you want some laugh then go for it.

I have had this one on my list for a while now and finally had a chance to experience v3 this week.

As a story first-person, I very much like where Derrek is (maybe?) headed. I enjoy the fact he is teasing out pieces of the story and gradually bringing in all the characters and plot lines. I specifically enjoyed the "game show" - I know others have commented differently - but I enjoyed how it lampooned AVN tropes and was a nice break during the story. I'm hopeful we'll continue to see the characters' backgrounds and relationships flushed out with continued depth. There seems to be a lot there (between Foxy and MC for example) and I hope Derrek will really give us a solid story as things continue.

Derrek, a non-native English speaker, has mentioned on a shared Discord that he is working to improve the English prose with the next version and I think that will really help continue to polish the whole presentation.

Visually - for Derrek's first AVN - the renders (models, environments, and lighting) are very good when compared to many other creators' first works. One thing I really enjoyed is that Derrek is already using camera angles and lighting to add variety to the story. Too often 1st-time creators have the camera locked at the same level and angle and it is nice to see Derrek hasn't fallen into that trap. Additionally, all the LI models are very unique and don't immediately remind you of other LIs from other AVNs.

Based on where chapter 3 ended I'm very excited to see what happens next with the MC and all the new ladies of Housekeeper.

Giving this 5/5 in the context of comparing to 1st works of other creators.

After update three, I have to give this an excellent ranking, which is five stars. There's mystery, intrigue, and a strong understanding of dominance and submission. The girls are all beautiful. The tv show isn't to my taste, but I don't really object to it. If this develops for a year, it could become a premier game with lots of fans. It has big potential.

Edit: After playing update four, I see the weird humor in the tv show. It's good to begin with the tv show because it clearly tells the new player that this is a game about humiliation and dominance, aimed at those who have play acted dom and sub roles in real life or those who have experienced the eroticism of power exchange. This is not a game for those who "act nice" with the goal of fornicating with someone. For example, the MC doesn't let a new guest who happens to be a girl sleep on his bed while he sleeps on the couch -- because he doesn't aim at fornicating with her by pretending to be a gentleman.

One to avoid.

Visually nice, story is tried and tested but it's impossible to get around the fact that the Main character is a total dick.

So, you've seen it before, young girl, Nancy, moving to the city to stay before college. No where to stay, oh no! What will she do. But wait, the girls parents know a guy (the MC) she can stay with him. Job done.

Except........ it kinda falls apart at that bit. Nancy rocks up and is very thankful for being allowed to stay mentions getting a job to pay her way. All perfectly reasonable and commendable but the MC ain't having that. He basically tells her he doesn't need the money so she will be a maid for him instead. Now.... apparently at no point was this mentioned to Nancy so what the hell? But it's the interactions after it which are comical.

The conversation goes like

Nancy: But I thought I'd just work somewhere else and pay you
MC: Nope, if you don't like it fuck off
Nancy: My parents never mentioned anynthing about this
MC: I'm tired of listening to these complaints. Either live here and be a maid or fuck off and stop wasting my time
Nancy: I can't, I don't have enough money for the return trip

So not only is she forced to be a housekeeper..... but she's also a slave in the matter. Real great storytelling there.

Also "I'm tired of listening to these complaints" lol. She's said like 3 sentences to you, all of which are quite justified given her choices are "be something she doesn't want to be, or live on the street".

At first, I was put off by the MC, because he was a horrible person. I was about to quit, btut his abuses seemed to get a little better, and a story began to develop. If you are into domination and humiliation of women, this game may be for you, but it's not exactly my thing. Renders are ok, english is fine, story is good enough so far. Not sure if I'll keep playing it in the future though.

TL,DR; I read every word of the dialogue and I still don't understand what is going on in this game.

Plot Summary:
MC is somehow a former dominant abuser of many young women, just like his father did, and he then stumbled into a relationship with a spy/assassin/super-hacker.

Then a girl arrives at his doorstep, and in less than 60 seconds he convinces her to become a live-in maid.

Meanwhile there is some bizarre TV show where a country girl is sexually abused and humiliated for a chance to be impregnated by a billionaire.

And some side chick working in a day spa who is conveniently a nympho and hot for MC. (Guess the dev needed to add at least one sex scene per release and this character filled that gap)

Basically a bad anime plot on psychedelic drugs.

Renders:
Pretty good, but not outstanding visual quality. Mostly good use of the assets, angles and lighting.

Writing:
Very few typos but clearly translated from Russian - the sentence structure and humour just don't work in English.

Rating:
3 stars. The best I can say is "not terrible".

Very interesting premise, the TV show allows for the interdiction of fetish based material quickly without to MC being evolved directly (refreshing), not distracting from the over plot with "Foxy" or any of the other story lines.
I've defiantly put this one on my active watch list, looking forward to the next update.

Not sure what I was expecting here, but this game is pretty good. The way the story is written, and the dialogue is kinda on the crapish side, but not in a bad way, It could do with some touch-ups, and proper grammar but the story itself, and the characters are pretty awesome.

I read in another review how they perceived the main character as a douchebag. I'll admit I'm not seeing this here, he's kind of a jerk, but the truth is we know very little about him, and why he acts the way he acts. The MC's dialogue doesn't seem to compare to other games where the Protagonist is a dumb, moronic, jackass. Here he seems to have a plan, and had a harem at one point, but decided to throw it away for reasons unknown yet. He'll likely build a new one, with lots of loyal women (probably sluts, definitely sluts)!

I'm looking forward to uncovering the MC's Secrets in future updates, and the story that will unfold around him!

As of version 0.1, I have to say that I'm kind of intrigued by its weird humorous tone. Not sure if I'm into it or not, but one thing's certain: it's refreshing. Besides, renders are good.

So, why only give it a 3 out of 5 stars?
The MC is a huge douche and we can't play him otherwise. Also, corruption should be about... yeah, slowly corrupting. But after fifteen minutes into the game, we have already seen here naked twice. Without her consent, indeed, but still. It kinda ruins the escalation for me.
Especially when those scenes with here does not seem super necessary to me, since in the mean time we still bang that spa girl and watch that blonde on TV getting into weird stuff.

So. In summary, what about the promise of a story about corruption of maid girl with many hilarious moments?
Well, weird humor, check. ✓
But corruption, afraid not. ✗

The render are good well made, the personage are good too (i already seen the blond one, but it's a secondary personnage) BUT omg this story, please rewrite the start, the side domination ok, but please after at lease one or two choice

I think that pretty much sums it up.

The character of Nancy (the maid) looks really cute! The MC looks good too and so do the other female characters so far. The renders (your house and the outside world) are nothing special but definitely better than average.

But MY GOD what an awful story! Yes, I know it's a porn game, but that doesn't mean it also needs the script from a cheap porn movie. Do yourself a favor and set the language to Russian so you can just enjoy the visuals.

Also, I'm still waiting for the 'many hilarious moments'. Or was that supposed to be the weird TV show with the girl from 'Cunt Town' and the monkey behind the drums? Must've been so funny I lost my sense of humor I guess...
