How do I correctly post a game after someone else had done it?

Someone unaffiliated with my project had posted my game, and it was the prototype version, not the one I want to distribute. I have the official downloads and links at my itch page, where everything is viewable. I want to create a forum where everything is discussed to me personally, not see the community through a third-party source. How am I able to get the full thread to my game?

Open a ticket about it, top of the page under the site logo.

I'm not grumpy, I'm just coded that way.

Since this is ambiguous (people can perfectly discus with you personally here, even if you don't own the game thread), I feel the need to remind you that owning the thread just give you the right to own the thread, and absolutely nothing more.
You can do some (relatively) minor editing of its opening post, but have no control over the presented version or the provided links. You also aren't allowed to delete the links, the content of its opening post, or the thread itself. Of course, you can do all this, but it will not take long for the staff to restore everything into its previous state, and remove you the ownership of the thread.

I think he meant more along the lines of being notified when someone likes/posts on said game thread. Makes life a lot easier than checking the thread ever so often for new posts or watching the thread.

From reading their post what I see is that someone posted their game here and they want to be the one that controls that thread and edit the OP they way that they want to with links and stuff from their itchio. To do that they need to open a general support ticket select ownership change and post the link to the thread that they wish to have ownership over. They also need to open a ticket in the general support and select developer badge and show that they are the game DEV so that they can be given the DEV badge.

He panicked a bit and didn't know where and what to post, his primary concern was with the first impression his game got due to an internal prototype finding its way here.

Exactly. I understand the nature of the site now, it was all just a huge weird road. Plus, I didn't have three posts and couldn't have my messages be read, so there's another factor.
