How do I disable an item for collision after I have used it to create collisions?

Use case: I am going to grab a soft body part and squeeze it. I will indent the target by creating a geometric primitive that will have collision with it and then be hidden.


Now if a second figure is grabbing me I move their hand in and viola magic, BUT that's only because they're not colliding with the hidden primitive, if I move figure 1's hand into the spot it'll continue calculating collisions with the primitive against the hand now. If I remove the primitive the deformed target area instantly resets.

Solution?


edit: I've been looking at dformer and it's likely what I just need to use instead.
