How do I filter by tag (or search query) and THEN sort by something other than creation date (replies, views, etc)?

I've attempted to modify the "o" and "p" variables in the browser bar, but that doesn't seem to work even manually. And the "filters" tab that is normally there when not browsing by tag/search query mysteriously disappears when searching by tag or search query.

Can anybody help me with this? I'd love to be able to just type in/filter with a tag, then see the most downloaded or replied to threads with the given tag.
