This is a question i want to ask for anybody that work on adult content, writter, dev or artist.

I'm a 2d artist and i often find myself aroused by the subject of my drawing, my story or the reference i work with and struggle to be productive because of this.

Does that happen to you ?

If yes, how do you deal with it ?

Yes, it's similar to when an intruder alarm went off in my house and I ran down the stairs. The alarm paused and then went off in my ear and I somersaulted off the stairs. Landed on my ass. Pretty cool, I would give myself a 4/10 for the performance and effort.

An alarm = boner. Action = whacking it = running down the stairs. The boner is stopping you from working and if you whack it then you basically somersault off a staircase. Can't work with a stiffy, so I just go and hydrate myself.

You'll get used to it.

I don't think jacking off is the answer - it never is. Just work. That's how I've done it. First scenes what I've done were slow because of this but it gets easier. You just need to work more. You will learn how to handle on your own.

I rarely get aroused when working on the figures because i have seen them without hair and it just.. Weird. Also the texture shaded one is weird for me.

Honestly it depends. When writing code - hell no. Unless it's an especially pretty or elegant solution to something. Then... uh... no comment.

When writing, it depends. I think you do want a minimum level of arousal when you're writing something that's supposed to be arousing; If you're not having that reaction, same as with art, what you're writing may not be all that arousing for anyone else. Sometimes just putting up with that for a bit can be good (both for your work and because being a bit aroused for a while can be more fun later). Write a steamier scene while you're warming up. If it gets a bit too much, try and pivot to a less arousing piece - write notes for how the story is going to progress further, or just write a non-erotic bit. If you're so pent up that you can't focus on anything, I find a quick relaxation break does help. That said, I am a weirdo - since that time that I actually went insane, I don't usually get that wave of tiredness after orgasm and can go back to low-grade horny after like a minute, so it's maybe a more realistic option for me than others.

The way I see it, if I'm working on a scene and I'm not turned on by it then I'm doing it wrong...

Sometimes I worked 10-12 hours staight with a permanent boner. Being horny helps me pose and put the cameras the way I feel more aroused to. My players usually tell me my scenes are written and shoot very hot, so I guess that's because these players and I coincide on how a very horny scene is xD. Beyond graphics, Often that means go quick to write some dialogue here and there. "Horny dialogue" written while coding is not up to pair.

For experience, if I'm not blind horny while making a sex scene, the results is a quite bland. Maybe I'm not cold enough to be a good nsfw dev.

The key is just withhold the temptation, the reward. Even if in the end the reward is just getting the scene finished because your tired and go to sleep. And If I cannot withhold the temptation well, it depends.
Sometimes a release don't help go away the arousal, that comes back quickly, so I can continue with the scene the same.
Sometimes if I feel "relieved", maybe that means that I'll continue with the scene other day. There is lots of non sexual scenes to work with too XD. Those are bad to make with a boner, you end adding lots of extra sex scenes beyond the script xD

Just keep working. Personally, I think that boner is the confirmation that you're doing a good job, and even if you can't "enjoy" your own game, it lets you know that someone else will.

But if you didn't jerk off for a week and you get aroused while watching bricks, then that's another case.

It's usually a sign that I'm going the right direction, so I'm quite happy about it. Also, "not doing anything about it" is usually the best course of action, since it puts me into the right mood of what I'm actually doing. Which is making smut.
