How do you guys make your logos for games?

I like browsing through adult games, the ones made with Illusion assets (HS/HS2, Koikatsu/EmotionCreators, AI Shojo, PlayHome) are especially my favorite. However, most of them have trashy logos that probably were made in 2 minutes in MS Paint, or commissioned by professional logo makers. No fun. I do make my own logos and such, because it's pretty fun.

But, how do you make them?

I use an app on my Android phone called IbisPaint X (mostly since I'm pretty terrible at drawing on a computer), but I'm wondering how you people create your logos. Canva? uhhh... Maybe Windows 10's built in Paint 3D? Clip Studio Paint? Paint Tool SAI? GIMP? Whatever you use and however you make it. :|

I use Photoshop for everything and not just for making a logo.

If someone is just ripping art from other games, I wouldn't expect their own art to be very good, or for them to know much about art creation. The logo was probably the one thing they couldn't rip.

That's a literal oxymoron. If you're paying someone to make you a logo (not cheap at all for professional work. $100+ for a very inexperienced designer, $1000+ for average experience with anything semi-complicated.). At either price point you aren't getting trash. Do they look too professional for an adult game? Maybe. But trashy? No. I'd almost guarantee most of the banners here are made by the devs themselves. Even with Daz/Renpy, you've gotta be competent in Photoshop or GIMP. If you're competent in either, you'll be able to make a decent logo. There's a reason they're using HS/KK graphics in what you're referring to. Most aren't designers or artists.

Professional logos almost always start in Adobe Illustrator (Or Affinity, if you're broke/too afraid to pirate.) are almost exclusively done within it. Then you bring it into Photoshop (or Affinity, again.) and color match it to the theme of the game/UI. That said, Illustrator is for professional use. You don't need it. Photoshop, as mentioned, should be the workhorse for most devs. Postwork, logos, promotional materials, imagebuttons, etc.

OH. That makes sense. I just thought that most logos I saw were pretty boring - but when you think of most KK/HS or even DAZ creators can't even draw, I'm still trying to learn how to draw so then Illusion doesn't have to sue me if I make commercialized merchandise with ANY of their products (but that's not the point)

I think I worded it wrongly. I didn't mean to say that those professional logos were trashy (of course not! They would've had to have a lot of experience to make really great logos like that), I was referring the the logos that look like only 2% of effort were gone into the logo making, it doesn't look appealing, it just looks like regular text. So that's why I was asking, how do you make your logos? (that aren't some colored text plastered onto thumbnails) My fault.

A logo costs like $40 on Etsy...
I'd suggest you use gimp if you don't own at least Adobe PS (pirating is always an option)
You can totally make a good logo using free assets you can find online and alter, if you can draw its even easier.
As for "trashy" logos some other devs use...i personally don't think people are willing to invest time into a logo for a porn game...
They just need something to do the job.
