How hard is it really to make a 3DCG game?

Introduction: I have a lot of ideas in my head, including story, characters, and even dialogue. However, I lack the tools to create the game. I don't know how to use Blender to make 3D models, and I don't know how to use any game engine other than drag-and-drop ones (which make crappy games). I'd like to learn, but I feel like I don't have the time.

With the invention of AI, our lives have become easier. AI can create entire lines of code and entire websites, just like Gemini, ChatGPT, and the rest. I'm not talking about images or renders. Creating NSFW images with AI is like creating music with AI. It requires the developer's artistic touch. However, writing entire lines of code with AI would, in my opinion, free up the developer's focus on many other things, like quality and animations, which make the game truly beautiful and stand out from the crowd.

So, with that being said, is there a way to combine
Ren'Py with AI?
  • In my opinion, this should be the workflow: Ren'Py (the main engine) + Daz3D (for the models) + AI Code for the main flow (plot, menus, settings) + hand-made dialogues (AI can't).

I'm saying all this because I have some great ideas in my head and I'd like to create my own game. If you want, I can share them with you.

Cold, hard truth time. If you don't want to learn something as basic as Renpy (literally the easiest game engine used for adult games) then... maybe you aren't cut out for it? This stuff takes a ton of time and effort, and it starts with learning the engine you're using. AI coding is at the top of the "bad uses for AI" list.

first you say you dont have time then you list daz... which will be more time consuming than the code. if you dont have time, you wont get anywhere making a 3dcg game, ai code or not.

Yeah, there should be a thread on this site about people submitting ideas and game-makers turn them into a game if they like the idea.

You can post it, but usually don't get your hope up that a dev who know what he does (and pull through it) will take up your idea for free and make the game you want to have.
Either pay them or make it yourself - or post it here your grand idea and wait till our sun cease to be.

For example, I uploaded text to one of the neural networks and asked them to convert it to Ren'Py format.
It converted my story, so I simply copied and pasted it into the game.
I also asked how to make a timer, for example, so it would work a certain way. I did the same.
I don't remember the name of the neural network. But these text-based neural networks are pretty good at creating code when requested. However, you still need to know Ren'Py, as they don't always produce very accurate results, and you need to adjust them to your needs.
As for the visual part, for example, the scene in Honey Select 2 produces pretty good results if you know how to adjust the lighting in the scene and position the characters. And it's not as demanding as Daz. If you try, you can get quite beautiful images.
If you're confident using neural networks, you can try using them there too. But it's a matter of personal skill.

RenPy is pretty simple. It comes with everything ready so you can make VN. You just prepare images and write dialogues. I would recommend to put you main idea aside. Try some very short story first, where you will learn basics and get feeling what's easy and what's time consuming.

i think you care too much about the coding, coding is not that hard if you have the basic. or just copy .
art is always harder for game making. even if you use daz , you still have to learn the basic, like pose, light, image edit and so on.

A baby could code for Ren'py. If you cant' learn how to do the most basic branching paths and track variables no slop can help you. Daz is a little more difficult, it would take maybe a six year old to learn how to make basic renders. That is to say Daz is easy mode for making art. It's better to learn skills for yourself than offset the cognitive load to someone else's computer that can suddenly force you to pay more money to use it, and I can guarantee that will be happening with all slop systems fairly soon.

In future, please do not quote me if you're just going to be mean to someone. I want no parts of it.
