VN - Ren'Py - How I Became a Hero [S2 Ch.11] [Naughty tales studios]

I played through Ch. 8 of this isekai in a couple of evenings.

The MC travels back and forth between the modern world and your standard boiler-plate magical fantasy setting, complete with elves (straight, gay & Africanized), dwarves, giants, orcs, goblins and a couple types of animal-hybrids (cat girls!).

It is common to see AVNs written at a young-adult level. This work is unusual in that it feels more like something intended for children. I would estimate the reading level at around ages 9-12. While some authors can write juveniles that are equally enjoyable by adults, I don’t think this qualifies: I found myself taken out of the story by numerous little plot holes that might have gone unnoticed by a child.

This is not for people who dislike kinetic novels: there are only a handful of choices on offer, mostly aimed at allowing the player to avoid some fetish content.

I am not certain who to recommend this to. Semi-literate adults who just want to see some sexy elves? Parents who want to introduce a precocious pre-teen to the world of kinky sex without letting them get it straight from PornHub?

Overall the game looks good, has some sexy scenes, and is quite palatable if one is sufficiently lubricated when they play it.

Must recommended. Seeing MC's face one would say it's a weak ass MC but as of ch8 the MC may look weak but he is written very good and of course not the strongest but the story isn't finished so!
Renders and animations are osm with variety of girls to choose from and the writing is so good that you will feel connected to the story and not just with the MC but with other characters too.

Why?

Well, a lot of naked women are running around, but my wiener never seems to locate a vagina. I think my ugly sister touched my wiener once. Then I got sent to a fantasy world where one of the main LIs is an elven version of my ugly sister. There is a cute town slut that jacks me off once or twice, but as of Chapter 5, I haven't stuck it to one vagina. So, I guess I am in this novel for the novel rather than the lewd. I'll just go read Dune or some shit if that is what is happening.

Since the time it was released, the dev put very little sexual content. For the first few chapters, its like the dev forgot entirely that he was making a sex game.
However, the story is nice and the dev has a very good taste with curvy models. I loved them. The problem is he introduced many delicious characters then left them without any sexual interaction. So, if you are easily bored and looking for a quick hook up, this game is not for you.

Truly a masterpiece. Brilliant story, lots of amazing characters, nice models/renders, very good sex scenes. I loved every second of this game and I think it has great potential as well. One of the greatest games on this site.

Absolutely wild that we have to wait until Chapter 4 before making a decision. Halfway through Chapter 1 I started auto-skipping just to see when we'd be presented with any choices to make - what's the point?

Decent animations and good story. We rarely get any isekai style games, but it's refreshing to see one after a long time . The animated sex scenes could be better as it feels like the same scenes are being reused. Overall engaging story and play-worthy

My god it's actually good.

I don't mean to sound like that's such a surprising thing, but I'll admint going into it my expectations were low but really, it's nice. It's like a cinnamon bum type of game.

Well, I say game.... it's not a game. It's very much a VN, there's little to no choices here but that doesn't detract from the story. It's actually pretty engaging.

So the idea is you're a random dude just living your best life, and you're blind. That's... pretty unique, I don't recall many games where you're impaired in such a manner. Your best mate gets an amulet, gives it to you and you end up in Narnia.

I think the only issue I really have right now is the intro is overly complicated. There's a lot of time spent in the "real" world before you get sucked into Phandalin and I'm really left wondering why. Even on the OP, the list of women shown includes some who you see for maybe a scene. Now I assume you go back eventually but really given the majority of the game is set in Hyrule it feels weird. But as a set up it makes sense but given the MC gets his sight back it's an odd point. Would the game have been worse if the MC could see before being transported?

The game itself is good in all aspects. As I mentioned it's very happy happy, there's little going on in terms of angst or drama. Big Saviour MC complex going on and that's fine. It can be boring but really the supporting cast are all interesting and the dev should be applauded for taking the time to make it interesting. It does fall into that pitfall of having random sex scenes that may not be required. I get the need to keep the player interested but the story's kinda interesting on its own accord.

A surprise hit I'd say, and definitely worth your time.

Fact: bears eat beets. Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica. While some may find this debatable, what isn't debatable is the fact: How I Became a Hero is a porn game created by Naughty tales studios. And here another fact:

A porn game has no business being this good. Evey LI is either incredibly sexy or incredibly cute and in a few cases, both. Most importantly though, the LIs are so damn lovable in their own ways. Honestly, this doesn't apply to only the girls either, even the male-friend characters are awesome. NTS better have Rasu drowning in pussy by the end of this because that boy is a real one! Heck, even the MC is a lovable little bastard that you can't help but root for. Dev knocked it out of the park with these characters, so well done.


Oh but wait, there's more; if you click the download button in the next 10 mins, I'll also throw in the fact that the plot SLAPS! As soon as you are thrown into this new world, you feel something isn't quite right but that feeling never takes center stage. The plot is happening in the background, and certain characters have varying degrees of awareness to this. The best part is that you aren't dicked around by characters going, "oh, you are not yet ready to know the whole truth because it puts your life in danger..somehow that has nothing to do with shitty writing."

Being really tired of all the harem games here, I almost passed on this. It's awfully close to the standard formula in many ways.

Thankfully I didn't, since this game has charm where others don't. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty vanilla harem story. It's tame in all things. There's no tension, there's no surprise. At all.

But it still succeeds due to some empathic writing, a decent protagonist and interesting love interests.

So, this one's decent. Go try it.

There's one thing that really bothers me though: The art of the cow girl is... stupid. Anatomically, the dev should probably look up the biological function of breasts. Having breasts as well as these... udders is just weird.

This is a brilliant little fantasy tale. English isn't always on point but the story and graphics are good, it's a nice change. Loving the dwarf and his mother, hoping something will happen there too. Well, all the characters have potential. It's different to all the other games available and now I can't wait for the next episode. Keep it up Dev!!!

This games plot starts off with a blind MC (college boy again), what was kinda unique and very refreshing.
Also the incest implications raised my expectations. But it all fell of the cliff quickly as soon as the portal into a fantasy universe opened and put the MC in a somewhat funny surrounding of a 10 year old, acommondated with a writing of a 10 year old ...
It is cute! And if cute is your kink, here ya go.
There is actually no descriptive writing for the well-displayed lewd scenes. So better watch a porn to feel excited.

Yet another game where you play as a young hairless beta male that's whisked away to another world of fantasy. Look, nothing here is very good. The writing is awkward and you can tell that the writer is not a native English speaker, the girls are nothing special and very bland and mediocre and there are no real choices to be had here. The only thing that could be considered refreshing, interesting, or new is that at first you play as a blind person, but he regains his vision as soon as you disappear into this fantasy land so that uniqueness is completely erased. Overall, this is just a bland and mediocre fantasy game with another hairless beta MC that's still in school.

I really love how he manages to connect the story well with the MC and despite all the problems he has to go through, he manages to find a place where he belongs.
Plus the animations look very good.

This story has some fun worldbuilding, and the plot gains points for not being too predictable or jamming an H-scene into every interaction MC has with a woman. It feels like the dev has put considerable though into the story and that's been reflected in the released content to date.

Characters get two thumbs up. There's some cartoonishly proportioned characters, which aren't my style, but there's also a few who are realistically proportioned. Erdie is one of the better-done examples of a plus-sized woman on here, for those who are into that. I appreciate devs who take the time to render plus sized characters in a way that's realistic.

Fetishes are fun, I'm not a huge lactation fan but the cow/human worked for me. Some good urination content if that's your thing, hoping for more in the future.

There's some clunky non-native English, but it seems like it ironed itself out after the first few chapters.

Excited for future releases of this one to see where the plot goes!

Dev, keep up the great work and I would highly recommend this game for really anyone. I've been playing AVN's for only about a year and a half now but I've blown through so many this year alone, being able to work from home, and I have to say this is easily in my top 3.

For starters i just wanna say i don't overrate stuff so i hope my review will be helpfull.

I follow quite often this website and the first time i try this one (as i'm surprised to see this one so good). The models quite diverse made me try it btw and the theme sounded good.

Story: Medfan quite standard and suddently a lot of surprises. Just the start, the premise is different. I won't oversale the product that's quite good but not great. The whole tone of the dialogues is appreciated . Btw this title made me think a lot of sorcerer and that's good story wise.

Characters: All a little too slutty sometimes worst than that. But very diverse even if the graphical engine is outdated, the overall quality is good at good enough.

Sounds: There is and that's already 1 star ^^ I hope, dream about dev learning that music is a must have in those titles. Good OST not great.

Sex: There's a lot for everyone. Quite too fast for my taste (i'm of those corruption guy ^^ ) but good shit. Some characters are gorgeous.


Overall: 4/5 because.... this is a pure VN, no choice... no game At least once i got feverish because i thought the author was changing the style of this game when asked some serious question but then overall you just read the game and that's all. If VN is good for you then may be add a 5th star, may be!!!

Overall: 4/5 - I never even knew of this game before a couple days ago, but after playing Ch6, I'm impressed and will follow it through future updates.

Story: 4/5 - The story is intriguing and entertaining. I can't deny it's good. There are some plot holes, though. The story talks about "worlds" as if the people are aware of other worlds, but it's not explained at all. I wouldn't call the story great, but it's an adult game and it kept my attention, and that's saying something.

Writing: 3.5/5 - The English is better than average, but not great. There are a lot of awkward translations and a few that are really poor.

Renders: 3.5/5 - The renders are really good, but some of the early content with the blind MC was pretty bad. Any player that's been around blind people a lot know that the canes blind people use don't look like that and blind people don't study like that (I am such a player).

Animations: 4/5 - The animations are decent. Not perfect and not frequent enough, but _way_ better than average.

Content: 4/5 - Both the quantity and quality of lewd content are about right. Definitely better than average, but not outstanding.

Gameplay: 4.5/5 - The gameplay seems to center around choices that allow the player to choose which characters the MC should interact with in future lewd content. I consider that nearly ideal for an adult game. Strangely, the game really looks like it was designed to be a sandbox, but that idea was later dropped. I'm not really sure what to think about it.

Bugs: 5/5 - I didn't encounter any bugs.

Great game so far!

The story is really good, the characters a good, and it's quite hot too. I hope to see more in future updates.

Especially that squirt and pee content, I hope it will be expanded.
