How much visual stimulus do you need?

As the title says, how much visual aid do you need to enjoy an adult game? How much of a role does it play in your enjoyment of a game?

For me personally, I have played a variety of games across a variety of engines with many approaches to graphics. I like to read so I'm willing to play a text-only game when I can find one with decent writing. But, I find that my favorite games are those that have quality 2D art with still CGs. I find 3D renders a little uncanny so I tend to avoid them entirely.

Well yes, but actually no. Yes, I'd rather not play a game with crappy visuals. No, I am totally fine playing games with no art at all. These are two different questions: can visuals be detrimental to a game, and are visuals necessary for you to enjoy a game. It's kinda funny that you and I have basically the same preferrences (i.e. regarding Daz uncanniness.)

I need at least a nude character sprite.
I prefer being able to customize a character rather than have more sex scenes.
Something like Portals of Phereon is perfectly fine. Of course if you have the proper gameplay to go with it.
What I like even less than text-only is pixel art animations, it does nothing for me at all.

More is better, certainly. While I have read erotic lit for a long time and still do, one of the reasons I've transitioned more to games is that I'm a very visual person, and would rather have the images on the screen along with the text. And as the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, so honestly the better images and animations that you have, the less wordy the text needs to be.

That doesn't mean that I can only play games with the highest resolution, most realistic graphics, though. I'm very happy to play a well made game that features Honey Select or Kosaku (sp) graphics. Typically what I like and what works for me are still images as you're moving the character around, talking to people, going from place to place, and then animated sex scenes. A game can still be made that has no animation but is still great, but its harder to do and takes a dev who's really good at it.

Should be enough to keep my attention going, but not too less as I can't imagine every little thing being written there. Depends on my mood for that day
