hey im new to art world , i wanted a make a renpy game . im using daz for characters but i dont know how to make architecture like house and office along with its interior and exterior ? there dosent seem to be any simple way in daz except buying multiple assests and combining them which can be really costly in my case because of my requirements.

so i did some research and realized blender is the best solution but before i start heading deep into learning that software , is it worth it ? is there any other better alternative? does all successful developers create their interior and exterior in blender?

From my research so far have concluded that i need to create a room in blender and import it to daz then add characters in the room and render it to make a scene .Correct?

Please point me in right direction. Thank You :)

Most people don't make the interiors and exteriors themselves, but use the assets from the DAZ store. They often start out with pirated versions from the Asset release section on this very website. Thats why a lot of games interior and exterior look the same, as the amount of options is very low.

If you are interested in making 3D models yourself, interiors is a good starting point as moddeling a chair for example is much easier than something organic like a person. You could besides that look for free models on sites like or .

Furthermore you could look into 3D pirated sites like . They got complete interior and exterior scenes and Kitbash packages (files with a collection so youc an make your own scene). It requires you to buy a subscription for a month on one of the storage sites, but for 15 bucks you can download as much as you want.

If you want to make porn game then no it's not worth it, if you want to learn how to do 3d modeling then yes it is. None of us make anything in blender or any other software (well someone might but generally no). I used 3ds max before I had even heard of daz, but don't bother making anything in it for daz (a couple of little things I have), even when you know what you are doing it still takes time, when you are rending all day you don't get that time.

Also don't forget that its not only about the modelling but also about the materials. It requires lots of experience to know how to setup materials so that they work out with the scene. (going to render the final result in DAZ will not make it easier...)

Learning all of that just for some VN isn't worth it, and would take months/years

okay so do you suggest using daz store only?
Actually story of my game is set in future and there are not many daz resources in store for that i think, Even if there were , it would add up to a lot of money if im buying so many of them, now i dont want to be little bitch here . i understand you must invest something to make something but im making this game mainly as a hobby , i like to write and i want to give my story a front with sex added in it lol.

Anyways so you suggest that i should drop the idea of blender and try buying everything from store or use free resources available on internet?

I get what you are saying , i was actually learning blender for 2 weeks now, made a decenet looking interior but when i import it to daz, everything fell apart. Materials , shapes , lighting , it all had to be done again :/
but i really like how real blender art looks like so im trying to find ways to make the transfer more efficient. Anyways have you tried blender before? If yes then were you able to bring the scene from blender to daz as it is with all the lightings and materials? if yes please reply , i have a lot of questions lol

Don't completely drop the idea of blender if it interests you, just don't get caught up on the idea of making all your own assets with it. There are places on the internet including here that you can "borrow" assets from, or so I'm told.

I made this pipe in 3ds max as I could not find one anywhere else, so blender could come in handy, but keep in mind I have over 5000 images in my game, this pipe is in 4 or 5 of them.

Its not posible to completely import a whole scene with lightning and materials from Blender to DAZ, because both programs use a different render engine with a different material set-up. I think there are some addons that make it easier, but its still an hassle to convert blender to DAZ. (or vica versa for that sake). You most likely need to reapply all your textures in DAZ again. If you used PBR textures those cannot be imported at all, as DAZ doesnt use the same node set-up as blender does.

Depending on what you want to do with the scene, you might need to export each object seperatly as well, as you cannot export a whole scene as seperate objects into DAZ. If you for example want your objects in your scene to be movable at all, you would need to import each object you want to make movable seperatly.

As far as i know lightning cannot be exported and imported between different programs at all, because each program uses a different lightning variables (like strenght, size, etc.). But it shouldnt take that long to remake your lightning set-up in DAZ.

I honestly would just look at what you wanna make, and what DAZ has to offer. The strenght of DAZ is its library and if the library doesn't offer what you want there isnt much reason to stick with DAZ (in my opinion). While blender has a much larger learning curve, it gives you much more freedom what assets you can use, and what you can do with your project.

You could maybe look into exporting DAZ to blender and see if thats easier. If you already made a whole interior scene in Blender it might be easier to import the DAZ characters into blender then importing the whole scene into DAZ.

yeah but importing daz characters in blender loses its quality and i think daz create more beautiful renders, for the lighting part i agree but textures sometimes stays , sometimes i ahve to reapply, i dont know why thats happening, im learning more abiut blender to fix that for now.

for now my plan is to create interior as different objects in blender then import them all in daz and rearrange to create a room . i know i might regret this after a whole week of hardwork but i think its worth a shot . Thankyou for your response though :)

Blender and daz normally use different render engines. Iray is vastly superior >for people< to blenders Cycles. They use different texture systems.

You SHOULD learn blender or rhino or whatever 3d modelling software. You dont have to become a guru. (blender isnt one of the easiest to learn but it's free and it's professional quality software). Simple retextures in daz will be easy. A lot of pointing and clicking. A looot of work on a complex scene though. For you to make your OWN architexture/furnitue and send them to daz? Hell yes. You can do the basic textures there, import to daz then do any funky high q uality texturing in daz. For basic things blender is incredibly easy once you get used to its bizarre fucked up interface. And blender is good enough at the high end to compete with ANY software out there now imho.
