VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - How We Met [Ch.16] [Madbone]

Graphics of this game is OK but the story is overall not really good. Too much stuff around and than from nothing some lewg scene. Some scenes were nice so it get the game additional star, otherwise it would be poor.

The game is good but had the potential to be very good!
Also, it's just wayyyyy far from reality!
Seems like the dev put a lot of effort into different branches of the game which could have been a different game altogether, I personally liked the normal route! But there as well it felt like Karley can't decide if she is a slut or a saint, she behaves abruptly in different situations.
Sometimes she's ok giving other guys blowjobs and if someone touches her she gets mad. Also, it's too much focused upon blowjobs rather than full-on sex, overall an enjoyable game but very far from reality which I agree should not be expected from a game, but at least some reality should be there.

I wanted to give the developer kudos for a couple of things he avoids that are the downfall of many female protagonist games.

Here she chooses her sexual partners, even when she's harassed she can avoid sex, and when she wants it, she just wants it - no rapey compulsive stuff.

There isn't some arbitrary metric that needs to build before you can unlock certain paths. Like in real life, you just choose, allowing you to customize the story to your preference, and dealing with the consequences.

This reminds me of the difference between a tawdry romance novel or a rom com and a porno. The story isn't stellar, basically not literature but interesting enough to want to see what trouble the protagonist can get up to next. As opposed to a porno which is just strung together sex scenes.

I agree with another reviewer about wanting a 3.5, but I'm going with good in comparison to what we usually get for these types of VNs.

Which is not to say there isn't room for improvement. The graphics are just a little underwhelming in most cases. The models are almost parodies and the genital sizing is way over the top - unnecessarily. The dialog does not come off as a translation, but it might be. It could definitely use with a polish pass on both the dialog and the narrative. Overall the writing feels a little rushed - not in as unfinished but poorly paced.

When I set the volume levels at the beginning of a game, it is not an invitation for the dev to repeatedly crank the volume to MAX HEARING DAMAGE because we're now in a club scene. There is no character development, story jumps abruptly from MC to somebody else and back, then suddenly there's a bloody murder (gangster wants macguffin trope) and several instant game-over paths. Then MAX VOLUME again, so I quit and deleted, you should avoid this lazy garbage.

The story is.. what to say bizarre. The graphics is ok at best. But it is good fap material. I say he can make it better and has potential. We can not say how things will go and can't properly rate it after 15 episodes.

Review of CH 14

First, i have to say that it is the first time i play the game. Review ended being so long but It would be worth it if it can help dev or other players.

Plot:

When I read the description, I thought it was a corruption game but… it advances too fast.

In the beginning, we have a girl that is a virgin and totally not interested in sex (even porn freaks her out), but suddenly she sees his friend´s dick and wants to eat strangers cum and blow other guys. How can we begin imagining her like a straitlaced woman when she went to high school and suddenly turns into a cum bucket so fast??
Definitely, it is because the developer wants to give sex scenes instead of making a slow-burn story, but if that´s the case then I miss some things like developing optional fetishes and a lot of sex scenes to play, combining characters and situations.




I think the futuristic thing is a bit shocking but can be actually interesting if it gives us the capacity to heavily change the story (maybe because of the remnant memories we can avoid dying or unlock more decisions.)



Renders and animations:

Render quality is good and there are good animations too (a lot of vn doesn´t have or are bugged when played).
I really liked the blood effect but really missed it on defloration scenes. (I can´t remember a VN here with that effect actually implemented.)


Characters:

There are a good amount of characters. I think all of them are original I mean not recycling from other popular games and having some even in the backgrounds is really immersive, since it´s not popular dev and they are not cheap, I see an effort on it.

I would like to have something more unique in each character. Sometimes seems so dispensable It´s like we are rushing through the story and most characters are just passing by and suddenly disappear as if never existed.

Gameplay:

I don´t like that seems like apart from 5 or 6 times, the rest of the choices we make are useless.
I wish we could have more important choices like adding fetishes, it´s easy and doesn´t change the story or at least some bad ones when changing too much the main plot and result in bad consequences. At the end of the game, we are told that we are just living on other people´s memories but we can change how some parts of the story develop

Conclusion:

I think the dev should get a Discord and try to make some polls to fix some parts of the game. If he wants to follow his already story it´s ok but needs to make some changes. He can add some dialogue lines for character thoughts to help players see what´s the reason some events like the ones I mentioned before taking place. I think the dev should focus more on the future since that will allow fooling more with the stories posting for example special scenes like being more aware that this is not reality MC will be able to do crazy things.
And even tho maybe it´s too late for the first story, make progression (at least in the future) slower (there are other ways to add sex scenes than just involving MC directly).
I think game has potential but some of the errors made are dragging the game down despite adding future events.

I had to think twice before i could bring myself to play this VN after reading the discussion. So after 13 chapters so far i give it 4 stars

-) The model is great, love all the girls model in this VN. Especially Paula, Dustin's mom in NanoV path

-) The animation is great, it's smooth and i love it.

The story tho, it's a mess. Jumping around like rabbit, the dialogue and the event seems rushed.

Do i recommend anyone to play this game ? sure, go ahead but the experience you will get, it's not the best but not that bad either.

**MORE WORTH A PLAY THEN MOST TYPICAL FEMALE MC GAMES**

For starters I want to make it clear that I have lower expectations in what I expect when I download most female MC games in general. All of which and outside a few extremely rare and already wildly known exceptions (that I'm guessing most checking in to this game have already found/played) typically are going to be weighed down with at least 1 and more often all 3 of the following flaws:

- Annoying game engine
- Lots of engrish
- Complete and utter overkill of the lusting after the stereotyped BBC
- Complete and utter overkill inclusion of the men's inter dialog thoughts sounding like it's coming out of the mind of a 12 year old virgin

This game has none of that. So right off the bat my own enjoyment potential is coming out ahead. Secondly, I'm not playing one of these expecting some amazing level in writing. Especially in a game i'm going to purposely pick every choice that leads to my female MC being as slutty and screwed in as many different scenarios as possible.

So with all that said, this is why I'm giving it 4 stars:

- Ren'Py engine

- Stimulating enough Female MC with no overy gross side characters

- Better then average writing for this type of game that isn't leaning heavy on the cringe in it's sexy time build ups

- Solid amount of content in the game that already includes vagina sex if you pick the right choice in the one not obvious choice that ends up mattering (chapter 4 - "Stay or " I have to think about it". Choose the latter)

- A fair share of hot corruption scenes with good level animations

- No grind at all

Basically if you like the kink, but hate the RPGM engine and/or the too heavy handiness of the flaws I mentioned earlier, this more then most female MC games I've found is worth the download look one night for that sit down spank aimed at those just looking to adequately scratch that limited options itch and while coming in not expecting a masterpiece.

Well, it's a porn game. It's not a story game with the occasional fuck.

I don't like this game myself. The story is chaotic, jumping about and not making sense in general. It becomes bearable after you meet Dustin, but when he takes over your sex lessons, I just stopped caring and skipped through the rest of the game.

Some of the textures in the game are also pretty bad. Either they're scaled far too large and visibly blurry or the models were not UV unwrapped there's very clear stretching on the thinner faces.

Also, all the dicks are way too large and they just don't look right in general.

I don't care for this game, myself. Some of y'all might like it.

It's a pity that one can not give a game 3.5/5 or 7/10 as this is what I feel this game deserves.

It's not a bad game. The story is all over the place, but in a good way. There is two completely different stories hiden in the game. Both intriguein in their own way. The male protagenist is a bit on the boring side for me, but all the other characters are intersting.

I just can not get myself to give this game a 4 as I feel that is deserved for very good games with a couple of flaws.

This game is above average and, and enjoyable for me, but not a top game.
