Hydrus
a file manager

The hydrus client is an application written for Anon and other internet-fluent media nerds who have large image/swf/webm collections.
It browses with tags instead of folders, a little like a booru on your desktop.
Advanced users can share tags and files anonymously through custom servers that any user may run.
Privacy is the first concern and the program is content neutral though scew towards Imageboards/Boorus/2D/Porn/Meme's cause of its already supported parsers.

Import your local files or download from a wide selection of sites (tags included).
Tag your files, tag them with as many tags you want, make them easy to find again.
Form your collection/library and keep the best of the best.

Hydrus has a great many features to help the power user with their image/clip collection.
Real Duplicate files will not happen (matching hashes).
Find dupes (different hashes) with ease on images.
You could download an entire booru with Hydrus if you want too (like Gelbooru, Danbooru, Sankaku, Rule34 or whatever)

HyDev pushes out update every

HyDev is also available at other places noted in the contacts page in the docs.
The Dev visists the Hydrus Discord twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday. (Normally late CET)

If you have any questions about Hydrus or just want to share your opinion on it then please do it here or on Discord.
Will try to keep up with this thread if it sees activity!

I want to autotag using R34 sites thousands of pictures, is this possible? Is there a simple guide that any shrimp can comprehend?

The built in download system pulls tags from most booru style sites or any other site it has parsers for, users can make their own parsers easily aswell!
R34 is obviously among them and by default it should download tags on its own by the gallery download tab or url download tab.
Please note that the tags needs to be on the site for them to be pulled, there is no AI or anything to auto-tag it seamlessly. There is also the Public Tag Repo which contains most tags for most files on the common imageboards.

This is VERY impressive. Not even just the application itself, but the docs surrounding it. Also, very thankful for the explanatory tooltips. Finally, I won't need to rely on some messy file system organization, this is a life saver. It's gotta have like most/all of the features from 3 or so of the programs I already used or wanted to use not just for file storage all in one place being able to work seamlessly together

Hii!
I recently started using Hydrus and I have one (or a few) questions. If you could answer, of course.
Is it possible to import or download tags to Hydrus? I mean adding new tags to Hydrus.

Hey there! Didn't see this message! Not sure if you joined the discord to ask about Hydrus, im much more active there.

As for tags, yes. Hydrus can scrape all boorus and image boards pretty much and you can make parsers for most other sites aslong as it doesn't have js to trigger any loading or data points. Downloading files within Hydrus will by default grab the tags i believe in the downloaded tags tag repo.
As for importing, Hydrus does support sidecar files which would be something like cutecatpic.jpg.txt for example. This text file would have a newline per tag entry in this case.
Also the importer can use regex to parse the filename, folder names and paths on import locally.

You can also import and export tag mappings from one client to enough which is just the tag info with a hash mapping.
Finally, there is the PTR (The Public Tag Repo) which most of the heavy users got that contains tags for all the files we all have... which is for 129 million files with 32 million different tags for a total of 2.289 mill mappings.
But the PTR is not for everyone as it requires a bit of storage and an SSD.

If you have any further questions, the docs are pretty well filled out and the Discord is always active 24/7 pretty much.
