I like being both valiant knight in shining armor and the evil, even cruel tyrant in games - do you have conflicting stuff you enjoy?

Its interesting how i both enjoy games where you help people who go through dark times and games where you are the one who enslaves and dominates and rapes people and makes their lives miserable. Former i like in general, i believe latter is almost entirely just fetish that i don't think i would even enjoy in real life roleplay. In most video games centered around story i just get heart broken if i do something evil. In Mass Effect 2 when Tali cries, i just have to hug and comfort her. Yet, i am pretty sure in porn game i would do exact opposite, brutally dominate and humiliate her.

I am just wondering how many others feel the same, do you also have stuff you enjoy that conflicts like this? No need to be as extreme, just something interesting. We all have our kinks that sometimes vary hugely from what we enjoy in real life. I would guess especially sexual fetishes especially are often something that really conflicts with your real life desires and personality.

I enjoy playing as both evil & good guy in both adult and regular games.

In games such as skyrim or fallout, I tend to play as the good guy, simply due to the fact that I tend to slaughter every living thing in sight when I am being the bad guy, so I end up with town, upon town of corpses, which makes it harder to trade and stuff.

In adult games I usually do a playthrough of each if I like the game (and the game has both good & bad routes ofc), but I tend to favor the bad guy role more, because it a far cry from my regular, polite self.

I don't mind mixing it up, but I do have my limits on types of content... Playing the hero, anti-hero, and/or villain can be fun, regardless of game and market... But as I said, there are limits on the types and themes, of content, I'm willing to put up with... If the content starts becoming too dark, too evil, and/or too violent, then I usually end up quitting at that point... I have my moral compass regardless if it's fiction or not...

I prefer characters in the grey area. Comical villains and knight-in-the-shining-armor don't interest me. This is why I love old Bioware games up to DA:O.

Pure good/evil characters = childish fantasy.

It's not a conflict, it's a natural process. Games are an excuse to give in our impulses. You said it yourself, you would (probably) even enjoy it in real life ; but like your natural self is still the one of a good guy, only in role play.
In the game, you don't need this role play condition. You can enslave them against their will, it doesn't matter, it's just a game, it's not real. You can let your dark side speak out itself, while still staying the same. Contrarily to the belief proclaimed by stupid short minded bigots, video games don't make violent, they make more peaceful. Simply because we can express our deviance inside them, instead of doing it in real life when they become too much for us to handle.

And to come back to your initial saying, we are more or less the same face to this dichotomy. Raw sex, or sex for sex, is something appealing. But it's also something that most of us don't do in real life, at least with the ones we love, because it's reducing them to a simple object of pleasure, and it's hard to deal with this ; "for the following hour, I'll use you as a cum bucket, but trust me, I value you way more than this and I really love you for who you are, not just as object of sexual release"...
Then come the "role play" condition you put yourself come from this. You are ready to live it in real life, but obviously not with someone who don't agree to this, because you aren't a bastard. So, you want to be sure that your partner will know that it's the reflect of a sexual desire, not the reflect of what you feel for her/him.

On a side note, that's also why there cuddling session in the end of many BDSM sessions (but rarely in games). It help the transition between the "sexual object" (to summarize) and the human being. It's not necessarily needed by everyone, but without it too many people will just mentally broke, ending believing that what's real is what happen during the said sessions, and not what happen outside of them.

I can fap to rapey hentai, more specifically monster stuff, but in the real world I find rape to be the most abhorrent act of violence that can be committed, what a strange thing we humans are.

I enjoy evil MC male dom stuff and NTR. I like thicc women and loli petite stuff. I like hentai, western porn, and JAVs. I guess I just like porn in general lol. Just no fem dom stuff and trap, futa, furry. Oh and no sappy romance.

While I usually prefer playing the hero in regular games, I tend to favor evil protagonists in porn games, as some fetishes better fit evil characters. These evil characters reflect nothing I'd ever do in real life though. I can be rather romantic in real life and enjoy romances in regular games, while I don't care much about romance in porn games.

I think the main benefit of games is seeing what could be. Exploring paths you wouldn't normally take. I will generally play a game that has evil/good paths in the way I see fit. If someone is a dickhead, fuck em. Often I will try both ways of doing things just to see what the other side is like. There was a slave game recently (I don't remember the name) but basically the game was based on treating her nice. If you treated her poorly, she just died, game over. I was disappointed that you couldn't explore being bad fully. So I like it when both paths are interesting and fully fleshed out. In a porn game, it can be difficult if acting one way gets you sexy content and acting the other way doesn't. I think if you know the end goal of the game is bobs and vagene, both paths should lead to the same thing in different ways. If I know one path has less content, I'm not really incentivized to see what it's like.

Yes, very much so. I enjoy projects like Incubus City, where you can go from seducing a woman to just outright raping the shit out of some women in some playthroughs. But I also enjoy other projects where you build up a relationship or be a characters errand boy in exchange for pussy.

I think the only setting that will insta-turn me off is NTR with ugly bastard. or if for whatever reason you're playing as the ugly bastard. I don't need the dude to be Adonis, but when they go out of their way to make him a rapey gross individual then I'm just done.

When it comes to adult games i am completely different to anything else. It's just part of the fantasy for me. I find that if i'm playing an adult game that i enjoy for more then the lusty aspects that i have to have two save files, one for fun times and one for a real play through.

I like that warm feeling of romance and also that twisting pleasure from NTR not at the same time though. I really enjoy genuine romantic moments (being with Kara in College life, Melody from well...Melody, Luna from De Luca Family and others) with the feeling that the partner will always be MC's, but I also enjoy NTR (probably not the same degree as the aforementioned). Of course I would prefer the games that offer genuine romance route that you build up from the nothing to soulmates, to not have NTR. I enjoy both genres but not present at the same game.....well most of the time. I prefer NTR in games like Wife's a Star or My Girlfriend's Amnesia or games built especially with NTR in mind.

First:
Good to see i am not the only one.

Second:
Outside of porn games you really cant play evil in games.
A idiot mass murderers people isnt evil(face it we mass murder in video games as good or bad guys)
It is just dumb.
Lets face it there isnt a game out there where you can be truly evil and do stuff like kidnapping people and selling them, selling drugs, launder money, scam people, etc.
Evil in most video games is being a random murderer rather then a selected(game aproved) murderer.

That said i play most of my charater's as manipulative guy.
I will do and say what i must to get the outcome i want.
I do not wish harm on anyone but will inflict horrible pain and suffering to get them to do what i want.

For example: In dialog i never give my opinion unless asked for and even then i try to sound none offensive.
Mostly because i am more interested in there point of view(makes it easier to control them) and i dont want them to have any idea on how to manipulate me.
I also dont let my enemies live(too dangerous) but i will allow for second chance's provided there real and not just trying to avoid me putting a 9mm in there head.

I pretty much have a very clear goal orinated mind.
I want results and focus on getting them.
Your life rather i safe it or take it is just a stepping stone.

Know this is an old thread but oh well...

I like being the hero just as much as I like being the villian. If a game has multiple paths, I'll usually play both. I'm strange on one thing though.. as a male protagonist, I like games where you can steal wives, girlfriends etc...but I do not like when the significant other cheats.... As a female protagonist, I like games where you can cheat on your dude as much as you want without him finding out. I'm not so much into the wifeswap/sharing content though. It's just better for me when the husband or boyfriend doesn't know.
In real life, I can't stand any of the above things except for trying to be the hero. I live my real life as pious and as good as I possibly can. Helping everyone possible, never lying, cheating or stealing etc. But in games, I'll lie...steal your wife and then nut on your pillowcase.
