One VN I have fond memories of playing in the past was Katawa Shoujo

You essentially play as an MC suffering from a heart condition that goes to a school specifically designed for those suffering from some kind of physical/mental disabilities. He comes to love his time at the school and has many wholesome moments with the girls that go to the school. Some people tend to think of the game as an excuse to get horny/sex it up with disabled girls, which is disgusting and completely idiotic to think of in that respect. The game is a lot more wholesome than just the "sex part" which is completely secondary to the actual plot/game itself
