I also don't quite use... skewering as in my head that sounds somewhat violent, but I do get what it means. I've had incidents... awful incidents with games that had darker content than I thought, so I prefer... nicer ways to describe it and not trigger the flashbacks...

Honestly wouldn't worry about any of these things, especially the selling part. Just try to learn the ropes without putting yourself in some position where you may need to compete with devs with years and more of experience and have captured an audience.

Take your idea and run with it and see where it may lead. If its cool enough people
would pay for it, go for it then when the time is right.

That and the multigenerational incest part may make the selling part a bit of a challenge anyway, if the project's still about that...

Keep in mind this is strictly theoretical, I have no experience making AVNs or programming really. This is just how I've broken it down in my head. Wanted to give a disclaimer in case i'm completely wrong.

Having some trouble with linux I think... The mods and Translations don't work on linux for some reason, I boot up KK or HS2 and it's basically vanilla. I thought it might be a Mono issue but when I investigated it had Mono. It's as far as I can tell something to do with BepInEx. I want to get it working properly so I can move on to learning some of the other aspects. Definitely smacking my head on the desk I expected to get technical issues learning but I forgot Linux is sometimes a multiplier of frustration.
