I want to see what everyone thinks about the possibility that in the future, all game production will be done by AI.

I'm thinking, if all game production is done by AI, those jobs will disappear, and I'm curious about what specific jobs will be created.

Its prcatically impossible for AI to create adult game completely by itself.
We all have mutually exclusive fetishes like NTR vs Harem, anal vs pregnancy, bit tits vs small ones etc.
So AI will need human input to make something appealing for one particular group of players.
Describing everything you want in a game is almost as programming or writing a book, its a job for human.

Well, if all game production is done by AI, modder will become a full time job, in order to make the games be less shit than the worst game actually available.

The more I think about it, the more it's obvious that nowadays AI aren't more Intelligent that they were in the past. They just moved from "here's what my decision tree is telling me" to "let me summarize what the majority seem to think".
It's not intelligence, it's cramming pushed to the extreme.

AI is just a tool.

It still needs to be directed by people. Even in the future, in scifi like Star Trek, people have to direct the holodeck. The holodeck programs are seen to be modified by people all the time, like we modify ChatGPT prompts. Everyone forgets that AI doesn't just "make stuff" - it always needs prompting and directing by a person.

So, let's take a hypothetical future version of AI that COULD make a full game, by itself, based off of prompting. You'd still need to direct it:
"Make me an erotic game, with these tags, and this art style, with this many dateable characters, and avoid these tags, and make it this setting, and make the dateable characters like this, etc."
And then you'd still want to go back in and modify it - "Make this girl curvier, like 'this much', and make that character less bitchy, and modify the storyline in this way, etc."

At the end of the day, if you released something GOOD to a wider audience, it would still be massively directed by a person, with a vision, who would have at least as much influence as a co-author or co-creator in the work.

What I see as a far future possibility (next 20-30, maybe 50 years), is generative media being a thing were any person can get a highly personalized piece of media generated for them on the fly by an AI. So shallow experiences, the type we'd define currently as "popcorn flicks" or "boredom busters", would pretty much go away, replaced by these generative pieces of media to satisfy quick urges for dopamine release.

But we'll still have handcrafted media (obviously with AI used as a tool) that is good or great, and that makes us want to share or recommend it to other people.

Something that struck me that I saw in a discussion of AI is this:
Landscape painters and portrait painters were devastated and upset by the invention of the camera. To them, it was the death of "art". You can read contemporary letters on the subject - they eerily echo the same discussions digital artists are having about AI image generation.

And here's the thing, it WAS the death of their art. Not totally, people still paint landscapes and portraits, but it devastated a whole industry and made it very difficult to make a living doing those things anymore.

BUT - big BUT - the invention of the camera led to OTHER forms of art. New forms of art. Films and video games EXIST because of the invention of the camera.

I think AI will lead to new forms of art we haven't even thought of or envisioned, once a generation of new creatives grows up in a world where they have known nothing but AI.

Is AI a wildfire burning down the art forest? Yes. But it's going to make the soil richer, and new flowers are going to bloom in the aftermath.

I for one hope to live long enough for unmoderated AI to be able to just produce me a short video on my fetish.

If I waste too much time on porn it's not the wanking - that just takes a few minutes - it's the hours of hunting around trying to find the odd clip here and there. I'd LOVE to be able to create a handful of prompts and get the thing to randomize things up a bit but produce the kind of movie I want, in full gory detail.

We're already there in terms of text, with one famous writing AI (having said that I just cancelled my sub, as they seem to be pushing image generation more and the text isn't quite there yet. Say about 80%).

Image generation is, to me, only about 10% there. The exact same prompt gives different results and you can't just edit the result, it throws up a whole new image. It feels like it COULD really move forward fast, but until you can just tell the AI the edits you want to an image, and then use that image as a base for other stuff, then it's still crap.

I can see them all coming together though. Use chat to create the script, then create some images, then tell it to create a video based on the images and following the script. Right now though it's all a clunky mess, with multiple different services spewed across github and the like.

I just can't see it ever happening in my lifetime unless AI can match or surpass human creativity which means it's actually capable of thinking and mixing things together to create something entirely new. The AI we have now relies on human input and a lot of the input people give AI is quite frankly lazy resulting in a bunch of rubbish being posted online.

Even if AI is capable of creating games of great quality I can't see people ever wanting to not make games. Game devs can be extremely passionate and some things need a human touch to get something just right.

In fairness, the majority of literature, games and movies are not very creative, and follow the same basic tropes and genres.

The Hero's Journey and a handful of other such scripts, about 7 in total, make up 99% of all movies. Throw in some teal and orange lighting and the women not liking the guy at first and you've covered 99.9% of movies.

Of all mediums games tend to be the most out there and creative, but even they have settled into some fixed grooves and genres, so AI could easily match most.

My fav kinks on command with total privacy and zero censorship while run on my own PC is my dream. My 2nd dream is that AI can be the interface to the things that computers can do.

Don't ask me to go on github and fondle various formats of python in a library or whatever, just give me an interface where I can talk to my PC.

"Chatty, recreate Halo but with hot women in skimpy outfits. Give most of them swords and knives rather than guns, concentrate on the animations of them stabbing and cutting, make that extra-realistic. Make each level a bit bigger, with more vehicles. Go!"

I'd pay serious coin for that kind of power, and without the copyright and censorship stuff we're not that far away, not really.

Here is a hentai text adventure that was made by an AI text bot.

So I asked an AI text bot that I made on Yodayo to give me a scenario and the first message for a hentai text adventure.
