Hi,

I have been a member of this community for quite some time and apparently yesterday I received a warning out of the blue in regards to one of my reviews I made for a game months ago.

I looked into the game and it turned out that the developer voiced their concern about a decrease in subscription towards their content and some can argue that my review was aimed towards one of the main criticisms in that game.

My review was deemed inappropriate advertisement or spam and I feel that there is a lot of wiggle room in the decision one way or the other. I read numerous review with the same-ish length that are still up, but putting a more favourable rating on the product and that have not been touched. All the while my review was reported and warranted the warning.

How can I repeal this decision? The only person I am in contact with is potentially the person that gave me the warning.

Thanks in Advance,
HG

You could always try to DM an admin directly. Assuming you aren't just trying to waste their time they should be able to tell you what you can do or if you can do anything. At the very least they should be able to tell you who to contact for more info. Include as much factual info as you can like, date of review, which game, your concerns, etc.

I don't know what the review was, but try not to talk about other games/works in your reviews. Direct comparisons would't be very welcome and can be easily considered advertisement or fanboy/hater nonsense. Try to keep it general.

You're here for 8 years and don't know how to do this?

Yet, if you want to have it public, then go on, but give us time to bring popcorn first.

2. Do not mention games from other developers in your review, this is to prevent cross promotion.

Impossible to tell without you actually posting your review in full, but it seems likely yours was indeed in violation of the rules. Is it possible that the reporting person was extremely biased and reported every negative review he plausibly could, while ignoring positive reviews that also violated rules? Absolutely. Doesn't mean yours didn't violate the rule.

Thank you very much! That is exactly what I was looking for.

I have never really used anything hidden in the sidecars, so this is new for me.

It's not about using hidden features, it's about reading the rules of the place you use since 8 years...

You know, to avoid things like, by example, getting a warning. Because for it to get a warning, it goes further than just a small infraction to the rules.
Everyday there's thousands messages and many reviews that are deleted without this leading to a warning. It's the difference between, "you goes a bit too far, we delete your post", and, "what the fucking fuck? We delete your post and you better don't do this again".
