Wow thank you very much for the response. Just for clarification. Losing to one boss switches me into the resistance/drifter route? and Thank you for letting me know if I do continue on the knight route that I didn't know I was going into it'll happen eventually.

That I do not remember. I think you needed two...or three...losses, before...chapter 3...or something. I have not played the game for months so you would be much better off if you use the Official Guide link in OP instead, especially for finer details like that. As weird as that may sound, I have never played the game via anything other than the Knight route (which IIRC is not even a True End).

TL;DR dunno. Me dum-dum. Use flowchart.

I can't find El Dorado for the chapter 4 resistance route.

If u are stuck in chapter 4, go to the bar, then to the only door u can enter, then talk to Zara (right to the event guys on the screen shot)

Nothing in my posts suggests you need to do anything with the second file, because that is what you need to do with it - nothing. It is already extracted.

1. "Download both files"
2. "Extract only the first file"
3. "Play"

And for some reason you refuse to go to step 3 after completing step 2, instead coming up with extra steps of your own. That is why I said you were overthinking - you are literally DONE, you can already play the game.

I tried to extract part 1 but it still couldn't be read because the archive was corrupted

Aaakpyap The procedure never changed:

1. download both parts
2. put them into the same folder
3. make sure their names are identical (check last page for a case where this one went wrong)
4. extract part 1
5. play

were you able to download the game? Cuz I have a download link where you can download it, it has both part 1 and part 2 combined and is of 4-5gb if I remember, plus if yours keep showing VL Gothic error, then go to fonts folder inside the game folder and right click the VL Gothic regular and install it then try. If it shows error, I can give you the direct download link

Yeah, try renaming them just in case. Regardless of whether they are "Ideo.7z.001 & Ideo.7z.002" or "Iloverandomfilenamesoneverything.7z.001 & Iloverandomfilenamesoneverything.7z.002" - as long as the filenames for both files are identical.

If you still get an error - problem lies somewhere else, no idea without at least a screenshot.

You need to download each part from the same Site , Like Mega both parts need to be Mega , For GoFile each one needs to be from GoFile

zomb0i Nothing. As long as you have both parts in the same folder, when you extract Part 1 the unpacker automatically fetches Part 2 and unpacks it as well.

You can look up "multi-volume archives" if you are curious what they are, but for the average Joe the process is simple: put all parts in the same folder, extract Part 1, done. What that "average Joe" tends to F up is they download first part, and try to unpack it while downloading the other parts - that, of course, fails because the unpacker checks for all the other parts, cannot find them, and stops. MVAs are not meant to be unpacked individually.

Actually, in this case the links are interchangeable: for example, you can download part 1 from GoFile and part 2 from PixelDrain, and the game will unpack just fine. The oopsie you ran into, by the way - and even though I am 99.9% sure, this is still just an assumption - was that you probably downloaded Part 2, and later downloaded Part 2 again to the same folder, Windows went "oh, there is a file by that name already" and automatically renamed the new one by adding "(1)" at the end - so you ended up with "7z.001" and "7z(1).002", which meant that the filenames were no longer identical.
