I checked Inusuku's recent update about his next game, Monochrome Encore. People might want to replay Monochrome Fantasy while waiting for it to release, or even check on the previous game he did (Monochrome Fantasy) in the years to come. In order to my links to be accessible for those who might need it in the future, I think that I must open a new thread, for all of it to be accessed and archived properly. It will also give me space to show exactly what I did recolor and and let people vent on AI there too (I do not care about them).

I am also heavily reworking the backgrounds of the game, and if I want everything to fit seamlessly, I have to modify a lot of your work to reflect those changes during hscenes (when the background appears on the left and on the right of the picture). If I release my files in a new thread, can I include all of those files in my download? It would be easier for people to download, but would basically be reuploading cropped parts of your work in my folders. So I have to ask what do you think. Some examples in the attached files!

These are some very drastic changes of artstyle directions. If people want this then go all for it, but i prefer the simpler yet charming artwork that it currently has.

What you are doing is beyond the scope of just coloring the Inusukus vision of the game. Especially those backgrounds feel quite off and dont feel "right" thematically.

They may look more detailed but more detail does not automatically mean that it is better. The simple but cute style is what i liked in the game and i also really like how Daseson is adding color and shading without changing the "feeling" of original game art.

tl;dr Since this clearly seems to split the opinions its better to split thread into its own thing too. So make your own thread and ask someone to include the mod in main thread for the game.

In my previous downloads, I shared some B&W backgrounds that I did for myself, that were a bit crappy in quality, but worked. However, for now, it seems far better to generate colored images and then edit them to B&W to avoid wavy lines, distortions and irregular textures, when I'm using AI. I am going for a Ghibli/M. Shinkai feel with it, so yeah, it's very far from linework and Inusuku's B&W Manga inspiration. That's why we mod!

But I still need Daseson's authorization before I can or cannot reupload part of her files with mine. While waiting for her answer, here is a teaser! I finished another Yui DLC scene in around 8 hours of work. I'm glad this and the backgrounds are finished on my side, with the DLC out on Steam. I will be able to playtest a bit.

I might redo all of the restaurant scenes for the occasion, they are the last big recolors that I feel are currently missing.

Hello,

You don't need my authorization since we are doing the same thing by taking Inusuku's work and modifying it without his authorization.

So there would be no point in telling you not to do what I do, so go ahead, whether I agree or not is irrelevant.

Again I must admit that it looks much better than the images I had prepared for the next update.

Great job!!

Hello,

I see that the image that tells you what is needed is from the base game:

1734746198163.png

So possibly you not unzipped Picture.wolf with wolf extract.

Remember that all .wolf files that contain images must be decompressed with wolf extract, and if you have the dlc you must also decompress DLC_data.

Hi, yes on mine they're listed as WOLF files, should they be winrar or win7 instead?

Oh the FFFOX MOD must be updated to work well in the Kagura version since as I read Blue mentioned that Kagura changed some file names.

So we have to wait for Blue to update the mod with the solution. If you see that any color image is wrong, let me know and I will try to fix it.

OMG I'm so sorry, I didn't check if Kagura updated the files! to be honest to mod the game was hard before but now I can do it without the video, but since I had that problem with the pictures, I just followed the guide again! and Will do!

The original dev wrote all of his comments in JP as well, so most all of it will be in JP. If you're using a version like my mod, I've translated some parts as references for myself, but still mainly JP. If you run it through Translator++ and limit the translation to just the 'comments', you can get a quick and dirty google translation of all the comment lines to help a bit when using the WolfRPG Editor.
Hey again! I'm finally starting to figure a little bit about translating and working with the Japanese coding and I think the modified files are good to go, but I don't understand how to re-pack them back into .wolf files to be used by the game. Would you or anyone mind explaining what you all do to accomplish this or what people normally do to get the modded files to work?

I would be so grateful if you could help me with this, it's so close to being a reality~

You don't need to repack them to get them to work, simply leave the folders in the data folder and make sure the matching '.wolf' files are not in the data folder. I repack a couple of mine simply to make installing the mod easier. If you want to repack any of the folders, go into the editor, click on 'File' in the top left, then click on 'Create Game Data' in the drop-down menu. I believe the very newest edition I found on the forums had issues creating game data, so I use a slightly older version, Ver 3.166, to create game data.

This is amazing, it works, thank you so much!

Is there still a download available for v3.166 somewhere?

Do you have plans to colorize the Steam version of game‘DLC? I've always been looking forward to your work.
Hello,

The mod is compatible with the Steam version, but it must be installed with a few additional steps. In the main thread I put a link that will take you to some videos, where I show you how to install the mod on Steam.

do you have any idea of why when i extract the hscene.wolf with the wolfdec the folder only appears for a second before disappearing on its own?
Mmm, it's never happened to me so I wouldn't know how to help you.
