Imouto Paradise 2 lost most of the irreverence presented in the prequel, and managed to become better for it. The most noticeable difference is comedy, watering down doesn't even begin to cover it. It went from "frenzied sophomoric", to a lighter, quirk/trope based. Can't say it's better, it's a more balanced experience. Next on the list, is focus on family scenes/dynamics and sweetness. Nothing outstanding by itself, but in the prequel calling them family was a stretch. Finally, there's the H-scenes, and if memory serves Imouto Paradise 2 dropped a few tags (not so) discreetly, without too much issue.
Overall, you wouldn't come here because "Imoutos", you'd pick this up for the 18+, incest tag in name only working for you, and customary Rom-Com being enough.
Positive:
- H-Scenes - Lots of them, some animations, they are well distributed, harem is available, art style holds (not a fan of character design though). They also have themes, in a manner of speaking, like (mild) Fem-Dom, or teaching the Loli. Main reason to give this a go.
- Setting and its potential - The "blue girl route" was ok, and they managed to do something with all the kicking and aggression. What's impressive about it (given expectations) is getting family stability, and sibling relationship (couple) into the picture, from an old tsundere banality. This could go somewhere, if that was the intent.
- Swap to order - A positive after comparisons to the first. Some creativity/freedom was lost, but the experience became polished. Exemplifying: The protagonist is still silly, but not maniacal in his quest for the little sisters. Chaos is great for a time, and yet people favor order after everything is said and done.
Negative:
- Lacking in a number of aspects, except adult content - It's a lighthearted read, but you can find much better comedy/SoL. It's an organized read, but you can find much better in terms of story in the same type of content; It's an incest romance VN, but you can find much better within the same tag, and that's not counting any forbidden/immoral material.
Score: 6/10. I'd suggest picking your favorite Imouto (maybe 2), read her route, check Harem, and call it a day. If you have the patience to check everything, great, for me it was a dull experience after the second heroine. The real question is: Should you be getting this if you already played the first one? I'd say yes, if like me, this happened a long time ago. As far as sequels go, this one does enough to improve things, and deserves a better score. Recommended.
