Incest patches that don't make sense

Look, I get it, some people have a fetish, but creating a patch to fulfil that patch on a game never designed for incest or on a game where the story is set up in a specific way, the patch can seriously mess up the narrative. It's annoying. An example I just found is the incest patch for the game Reunion. The narrative? MC goes back to his home town to get revenge on his step mother for ruining his life and causing his mother's death. The incest patch: MC goes home to get revenge on his mother for ruining his life and causing his step-mother's death? What? Was there a time machine involved?

Sure, that lineup could happen depending on how the story is set up, but in Reunion the mother has been dead since the MC was a child...and THEN the step-mother came into the picture. The incest patch makes ZERO sense and only exists to ruin the narrative to fulfil a certain fetish. And yeah, the easy solution is just don't install the patch. And I definitely uninstalled it, but I still have to question, who has a fetish so severe that they're willing to just screw up a story to achieve it?

Secondary question: To devs, have incest patches ever been made for your games that made you say...wtf?

Happens all the time. I've read at least dozens of comments from Devs about their dislike for an Incest Patch, because it contradicts or hurt the story they want to tell.

But ultimatly you have no control about it, when people want their kink, they patch it. They don't care for the story.

At least i can choose to NOT use such patches if the story doesn't fit.

Indeed it is as you say, incest patches made for a game that isn't compatible with incest to begin with, only serve to mess things up.
That's why i never bother with them.
But lots of coomers here probably don't even care about the story in the first place, they're just there to to coom after all, so this is not an issue for them.

The more pressing issue when it comes to incest patches are games that were meant to be incest, but the dev went through hoops to make it landlady, but the incest patch is a simple word replacement which can never capture the true vibes of incest unless the dev wrote the base script with incest in mind.

I can't even begin to list all the incest games that have shitty implementation of incest, because it's almost all of them.

That said, I'm also seeing a lot of games where the player gets to fill in the LI relation to the character themselves as a way to side step the system. This particular method may be my least favorite because it means the dev will have to jump through hoops using vague language for the rest of the story to avoid tripping anything up.

Exactly. User input is in effect the same as word replace. It's not possible to write a sentence that makes sense in both incest and non incest versions unless you are vague and general. That kills the incest vibes in most cases, and also leads to retarded dialogues.
