There are several things that are confusing and unexplained… (sudden changes in appearances, characters, double-clicks that don’t make sense to unlock scenes, parts of the storyline that are unclear in terms of relationships, etc.). So there’s definitely room for improvement in the narrative, and if you want to avoid constantly clicking on hints, well… it’s quite tedious. What I liked the least is that a single choice could make you miss an entire story branch, with no way to go back… the train scene, for example. This leads to another problem that bothered me: after a while, you’re so afraid of missing a scene that you feel forced to make choices that are cruel or manipulative just to secure a scene… especially since, a route later, the roles between the characters reverse. You click without really knowing what the consequences will be.
On the other hand, it’s the kind of sandbox I love. It’s well done (well, except for the part where hours are desperately missing in the late game). But the navigation, the many locations, and the fact that multiple things happen at the same time is very well done—you really feel free to do them in any order. It’s a shame because it’s very well made, with good gameplay, but our actions don’t mean much… many areas are unclear in their intentions.
I really enjoyed the seduction aspect, progressing slowly with “certain” girls, the main ones, and that it’s not immediate or crude sex after three dialogues. The gradual development of sexual relationships is genuinely satisfying, exactly what I expect in every game. You can always find two or three girls if there’s an urgent need, but if you follow the story, at least it’s believable. The cast is very good; the girls are almost all beautiful (a shame about the trans aspect…), and there are many of them, so there’s real diversity and real fulfillment of needs.
There’s a lot of quality in this game. There are truly great and well-thought-out things—the shots are good, the scenes are too—but there are three or four points that get lost because of certain developer choices, which, well, take away stars. If I had known it fully, I would probably have given it 5 stars, but there’s also the 2018 feel, and the game is not finished…
