Hello, witches and wizards! ✨
The second decade of September is coming to an end, and work on Innocent Witches is in full swing.
Over the past ten days, we’ve made progress not only on version 0.12B but also on preparations for the next story update, 0.13A, as well as the upcoming New Year/Christmas seasonal event.
Let’s take a look together at what has already been done and what is ahead of us.
As always, we’ll start with an art preview (available in the next post).
This artwork showcases an updated collectible polaroid photo — one of the enhanced versions of an image you may recognize, and which will be one of the multiple polaroid photos available in 0.12B for you to collect. Here we see a witch on a broom with a rather unusual saddle. At first glance, it seems to have been created purely to provide the rider with pleasure… but in the end, it turned out that this design also helps her stay securely in the saddle. >

Judging by her expression, the witch is clearly happy with both features.
Now on to the main news!
At the moment we continue to implement the planned events for 0.12B, while polishing and expanding the art to add more variety and interactivity. Currently, two out of six main events are in varying stages of readiness, with the remaining ones being worked on as well. The second half of the texts for 0.12B, which were recently translated, are now undergoing editing and proofreading.
At the same time, the writing team and some of the artists are working on the script and art for 0.13A. Our goal is to prepare the scenario and content for the next major release in advance, while content for the closest upcoming update is being inserted.
This week, the script for the New Year/Christmas release — which will be launched between versions 0.12B and 0.13A — has been completed. Tasks for the artists are now being drafted, and the texts are being translated.
Live2D animations for one of the six events have also been completed, with some of them already inserted into the game. Adjustments have been made to ensure smoother transitions between different stages of the scenes. This is especially important for Live2D, where seamless switching between animations makes the scenes feel alive and natural.
In addition, we’ve added a static version of a new main menu background featuring the charming Susan Bones of Hufflepuff. This version will be available in the next public release, while the extended version will appear in the release for Sailors and above. The extended version will include extra customization options, similar to those available for the backgrounds with Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger. Live2D animations for this background likely won’t make it into 0.12B, but they will definitely be added in the following release.
Finally, we fixed several annoying bugs reported by players:
1. Fixed an issue when visiting the entrance gates in Chapter 1, Act 2 during the search for a cocktail mixing catalogue.
2. Fixed a bug when exiting the corridors in Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of Act 2.
3. The game no longer crashes when interacting with the owl’s letter in Act 2 of the old storyline.
All of these fixes are already included in the latest build, available on our website and other official platforms. The version number hasn’t changed, so if you already have the latest version installed, your saves will still work correctly with this updated build.
Our plans for the next ten days are to continue inserting and polishing content for 0.12B, as well as to work on the script for 0.13A. In parallel, the art team will begin working on assets for the New Year/Christmas event, while the texts will be translated and passed on for editing and proofreading.
That’s all for today, friends! We deeply appreciate that you continue to stay with us and support the development by donating and leaving your feedback. Thank you so much!
We’ll meet again very soon in the next news update. Until then, take care of yourselves and don’t forget to enjoy life!
Peace to everyone ✌
Yours,
Sad Crabs. ✨
And now, it’s time for a poll!
When planning new updates, we always discuss how to add more interactivity to the story and interactions with characters. This helps to make the game process more diverse and engaging. One of the ways we do this is through mini-games. There are countless varieties of them, and it’s not always easy to find the ones that fit a particular event while keeping everything balanced and fun.
So, what types of mini-games do you enjoy the most? Of course, we can’t list every single type, but we’ve gathered the ones most relevant to games like Innocent Witches. Please vote and share your opinion in the comments!
1. Spot the differences between two images/objects
2. Memory games (like Sonya’s memory game)
3. Rhythm games
4. Clickers
5. Puzzles (like the statue in Act 1)
6. Match-3
7. Jigsaw puzzles
8. Fifteen puzzle (Hermione’s mini-game)
9. Quizzes (timed multiple-choice answers)
10. Shell game (thimblerig)
11. Gambling/card games (poker, roulette, etc.)
12. Other (I’ll suggest in the comments)
