2. I have indeed played Syahata's Bad Day. Excellent game, definitely looking forward to the dev's next game.

Just a few notes regarding the scenes, Lewdness triggers different scenes in combat, low lewdness (< 3) will trigger forced scenes, while high lewdness (>= 3) is going to trigger consent scenes.

There is also a peephole behind Rumia's shop, take a look into it.

Parasite Worms and Mosquito only trigger on sleep.

Not sure if I'm missing something.. but the jellyfish are extremely hard to kill even with dragon sword, steel shield and armor.. is it supposed to be that hard?

It can be the case that the Jellyfish might require some power balancing, but as far as I remember, them and the Slugs were the toughest of the normal enemies. However I intended that the with full gear the fight would be way more doable, so it might be the case that the power spike is a bit higher for them than it should.

Ah, thanks. Admittedly it feels like the list is lacking/mainly American games, but that might just be because of your dislike of Japan's censorship. Personally I can deal with it.

I dont have anything against Japanese games. I fact some of my favorite games are Japanese (ambrosia, magical girl celesphonia). I dont know what's written in that law but if it would be possible, I'd create a game normally and then apply a censorship filter afterwards. Then the game is shipped censored but any none Japanese can buy / get a patch to remove the filter.

But some people don't bother with genitals and just apply pink blocks from the beginning to save some effort.
Its like if Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa but added a tape strap onto her mouth.

True that. Since ULMF I learned, that some censorship is removable and F95 teached me, there are always guys with a patch for almost everything. Basically it depends on where the censore is placed. If it's an overlay, you might be able to remove it. If it's in the picture itself, not so much. Nonetheless, it's bothers me more if the game is in japanese, but even then you could figure it out somehow.

DLSite requires games to be censored at the asset level now and they will check for it. Night of Revenge was delayed because the dev was censoring the game via a filter and DLSite rejected it, so they had to bake the censor in.

Did figured it out yet, but probably when her shop is closed. Try every day exept both opening days.
Also, slugs are (finally) coming in the next update.

I would love to add French translations, but I would have to find someone available for performing them. As an alternative I can use DeepL or an AI to translate the texts myself and add a French version, however I wouldn't be able to validate the syntax nor the correctness of the resulting translations .

I believe it is a similar phenomenon to legalizing weed, as in, when weed is legalized for domestic consumption, weed related crimes, deaths and health problems decrease, because it opens the doors for related business, people and institutions to enter the scene without fear of legal repercussions, and reduces the "underground effect" (as in, being done in secret, behind closed doors, with no lawful protection, etc) that is produced by engaging in stigmatized (and in this case illegal) activities. (a bit of a stretch in the analogy I know )

So it is more the other way around as I understand from what I've read and seen about Japan, and the censorship fosters a more deviant underground scene, possibly alongside some other difficult cultural conditions. For example, as I understood, the tentacles idea came precisely to circumvent the fact that penises had to be censored. Since tentacles were not penises, they didn't have to censor them.

Check the peephole at night after Rumia closes for the day .

The slugs I mentioned are from the original game, that is from where I was drawing the comparison from . They will be added to the remake on the next version as well.

Hey im playing the android ver. and the saves wont work, no matter how many times i save it puts me right back at day 0. Also everytime i enter a h scene it crashes after the first part of the scene.

The save file problem could be related to permissions on Android, however I'm not sure of this, I cannot seem to reproduce it in my device . I'll read some documentation and look around to see if I can identify a potential problem here, but usually Android's filesystem is not as simple or permissive as a computer's...

I started experiencing it on 0.80 but i think its because i made 3 save files, so maybe it got confused or caused some errors because i uninstalled and reinstalled (0.80) and the save problems stopped. The crashes started on 0.81.

I've noticed some other reports of crashes on Android since version 0.81. Could you tell me when do you experience them? Only during battles or also on exploration?

As a side note, I've played around with the engine's image import features and discovered lossy texture compression, which seems to work well enough with the JPEG scene images. Given this accidental find fueled by someone asking if I couldn't optimize the image size, the next version will reduce in size from 1.3 Gbs to around 325 Mbs (near 4 times as small) with very little quality loss on my tests.

As a direct consequence, this also makes the game load 4 times as fast on startup, which is a fun bonus that some people asked about. Purely an accidental improvement but very welcomed .

Having said this, there is some minimal quality loss on the images, but I find it barely noticeable, so on the next version I'll release the images compressed and we'll see if the impact is as minor as I perceive it .

Indeed the original game only has vaginal content. There is a slight hint of anal play in the Mosquito egg laying scene and breast sucking in the Sucking Leech temptation scene, however as far as I've checked and remember, those are the only times that alternative content exist in the original.

I believe the answer to your question is in the changelog of version 0.81 , but in case you missed the discussions a few pages back and the update log on the Itch page, it boils down to changing the engine's compression method for the images.

In summary, the game has about 1 Gb of JPEG images currently just for the scenes and those were being included in the game with lossless compression, resulting in an increment in size when the game was built. So the images compressed in lossless format plus the engine and the remaining audio and image resources used in the game weighted around 1.3 Gbs.

By changing the compression on those images to lossy, at 90% quality, the image footprint reduced to around 100 Mbs, 10 times as less, which resulted in a big reduction in the size of the game. The cost of this reduction is that supposedly, the images lost 10% quality, albeit a relative number, if you compare the scenes in version 0.80 with 0.81, you can see a slight difference.

I figured the difference was too small, or barely noticeable to be a problem, since the reduction in size was astonishing.
