VN - Ren'Py - Intertwined [v0.13.1] [Nyx]

To make a long story short a good game with well written story and decent renders. So after the shortest way of evaluating this game let's take a closer look


I'd like to start talking about the story first since I think it's the best side in this game, which is weird considering this is an adult game where how it looks generally matters more than what it actually tells. Still the story itself isn't the most original story it's a teenage drama but the narrative is the aspect that levitates the story. Characters are also not just bumheads with dicks (not including Zach lol) or fuckdolls without souls, every individual have their own struggles and traumas which are mostly told or at least teased like Erynn's situation. We don't know what exactly she's going through but we've seen that something is off
I really loved that narrative has that big flashback sequincelife with Andres right before reunion with your mom, it wasn't really necessary but it is a good addition and it changes the rhythm in a good way. Not something new yet again but works just fine. But there are a lot of other flashbacks which keep the narrative quite active and dynamic.
Also the decisions matter. I mean, not really surprising but just wanted to mention it's just fine.


Renders are not the sharpest, cleanest ones but they're quite good. Character designs do vary which is great so you're not stuck with same girls with different names. Animations are decent but improving. The thing is that some relationships do take their time to progress so sad to not see some of the characters in action but instead of unpleasant rushing in the story i'd still preder eagerly waiting for the upcoming updates just as I am doing right now.

I'd probably give it a 4.5 but since there is no such option I say it's a good 4 out of 5

Wow, wow, wow. I came into this game with high expectations and they were still easily exceeded. Honestly this is one of the very best games I've had the pleasure of playing.

For starters the writing is excellent, you start to care for the characters very quickly and choosing a favorite is next to impossible. There's funny moments and more serious ones too, all are handled very well.

The renders and character designs are excellent whereas the animations aren't but they're OK. It's a minor issue when the game excels in every other area.

What also surprised me was how much content the game has, it's only around nine months since the first release and it already has more than most games. When you consider the quality of the content too that's seriously impressive, the dev deserves massive praise.

Honestly this game is awesome and the creator deserves massive success. I eagerly anticipate the future updates.

Very great storytelling and renders! Will be following this one with every update. Very interested in how several storylines will unfold with several characters. RARE when I am not tempted to skip a ton of dialogue constantly. Not sure if it's the interesting characters or if it is the lack of bs dialogue but became very invested.

A phenomenal game thus far, both in graphics and storyline. Just discovered it a few days ago, and I'm almost caught up to the current point, and have already been feeling pangs of disappointment over knowing I'm going to have to wait for future updates. But I can't praise it enough for both it's quality of sotrytelling and quantity of content. An absolute 5-star must play....I'm even thinking that it might just be taking the top spot on my list.....Well done

For myself, the best game I have played.

I like the fact that it is story based and has nothing to do with Incest or a harem.
The story itself is very well written, the characters and the dialogues feel very natural.
and the drama adds even more believability.

Purely going by the story, this is easily in the top 10 games on the site. The characters are believable and interesting if the situations and coincidences are bit over-the-top. It does feel like a lot of the female interest is unearned, but hey, it's the genre.

The art is also fantastic. The girls are gorgeous and the renders are great.

I don't care for the point system though. All it does is force people to use walkthroughs and mods. It's just an annoyance. Better to remove all choices which don't branch and probably to pare those down a bit too as it's a lot more convoluted than it needs to be. It is manageable with a walkthrough or mod though and I've certainly seen far worse.

What an amazing story with everything it needs to put a spell over me! There's a bearable protagonist for a change, character development and some branching, too. I was just catching up on the last episode (v0.6a) and again, it felt so real that I simply forgot about playing a porn game.

Review after v0.6a

I admit that when i started this game i was expecting another typical "guy turns 18 and suddenly all women want to fuck him" kinda deal and... turns out i was right. It's exactly like that! But at the same time, it's also a lot better than what i expected.

pros
- The girls and women are stunningly beautiful
- The writing is excellent
- The storyline, although generic at times, keeps you entertained and wanting to know more
- A lot of content! I can't believe how much it is for just a 0.6 version.
- There's no grind or unnecessary chores to advance a storyline
- It has many choices that actually make a difference depending on what you choose

So, after all that someone would ask "why the 4 stars then?"
This is why...

cons
- You're playing as the guy and that means you're not supposed to know what the girls are thinking. Here though, the dev thought it was a good idea to insert their pov's as well, which is a huge turn-off. It's different to have a scene with just the girls where they can talk about MC or whatever, but when you have a scene with MC and a girl and you show us what MC is thinking and what the girl is thinking, it takes all the mystery and fun away. Not that it would make a big difference since all the girls are thinking so far is "omg, he's so cute, i really like him, etc".
- The transition between scenes sometimes feels rushed, like it's missing an in-between scene. e.g. it's morning and MC agrees on a date at night and next render is him at the door ready for his date...
- Zach is conventionally attractive, yet not a single girl is into him and they all want MC. That's a bit unrealistic. They must add a girl that wants Zach or at least finds him worth a fuck.
- Also, there're not enough Zach/MC scenes. They're supposed to be buddies, but they had like 4 scenes so far. All MC does all day revolves around girls.
- No music. I don't really mind that much but when you mention that MC plays guitar, it's a bit ironic to not have any sound
- Because of all the girls, you need walkthrough if you want to know every outcome
- MC was best friends with Erynn since kids but somehow he had no idea who Alexis was? She was his first kiss if i'm not mistaken.
- The other guys are either bullies or molesters
- - Lastly, unnecessary upcoming incest. I have a feeling that my previous comment is just a helping step for the son to comfort him mother and inevitably develop a more intimate relationship, but i hope i'm wrong. This game has already lots of girls and milfs, it doesn't need incest! MC doesn't have to also want to fuck his mother just because other games include that. Please dev, no incest!

Overall, this game is more a 3.5 than 4.5, that's why the 4 stars. It's a mess, but I really enjoy it, despite the many flaws i personally see and i honestly recommend it for anyone to download and play it. You won't regret it.

p.s. i keep playing all routes and discover new things, so i will edit my review frequently after updates or if i forgot to mention something.

There are many interesting characters in this game. I really do want to see more of them in the next chapters. And please add milf & mom routes, please? They are really hotter than the other girls combine lol

How many gut punches can I take in a game? I don't know but I am pretty sure I will know the number by the conclusion of this game.

For gut punches to hit home as well as hard characters have to feel real and this game does that.

When I wrote Eleanor I only focused on making the main character feel real so the skill needed to make the other characters feel real and not simply blow up dolls is impressive.

I look forward to hating the author for making my shriveled up heart feel thing many more times before this rollercoaster is concluded

Amazing game , Hope it gets updated a lot. And not like forgot about. Really enjoying it, Fantastic story , And characters, keep up the excellent work. Just hope to see it keep getting updated, needs a lot more recognition

I don't review games often but when I do it's because the game is truly excellent. A lot of the best games share a lot of the same qualities, like having actual characters with emotions, good renders/art and proper English. Surprisingly it's hard to find games in the adult genre that can accomplish these things but Intertwined is one of them. This is one of the best examples of an adult visual novel that exists on this site, definitely play it if you're undecided.

Very good writing with cute, compelling and interesting characters, no fantasy elements, super powers, a human story that anyone can buy in.

It gets messy(aka Intertwined) if you try to "juggle" all the girls, but still believable and most important fun and interesting, characters have understandable motivations and good internal consistency no matter what you choose.
The "butterfly logic" is very solid so far (5.5).
Plus the women look hot.

Everyone should give Intertwined a shot.

One of the best ones out there. Actually trying this one without using a walkthrough because i don't want to spoil anything ahead of the story. I actually want to feel the shock or if there is even going to be a shock. Love the interactions between the MC and all the supporting characters (yes including his guy friends). The story has a mixture of teasing, mystery, and branching off. Multiple paths to chose from. I'm only half way through the game and I'm still trying to figure out what is up with Alexis (Lexi). At first she was really hot, now i don't know what she is hiding and it's driving me crazy. i Loved the story line of when he talks about his past with his stepsisters. I know i am just rambling on, but to sum things up .....story is awesome, characters are unique in their own way, sex scenes are animated and sexy. Can't wait for this story to continue.

Well with every new game that lights up the site... it's getting really hard to review it...the bar is getting higher and higher (especially story wise).

Intertwined has really nice balance between story, reality, teasing and sexual experiences .....

The part I really love about the game is that.... the story is deep, yet somehow very light and easy on the mind.
Usually I wait a couple patches before I jump into a game again.... because ever couple of months, you have to go deeper again into the story and maybe replay some parts of the game to remember everything that happened...if you really care about the game and the story.
With Intertwined I personally remember the story and the details very well and can jump right in without hassle.

Overall the game is a new gem in the pool of adult games with great stories....

I'm really looking forward to new versions and how the story unfolds also I think adding some optional femdom content in the newer versions wouldn't hurt anyone as it can be skipped by those who don't like it.

Really enjoying the story so far, I especially appreciate that the characters are well thought out and have actual personalities. Spicy scenes are varied and flow well with the plot. Am definitely looking forward to the next installment!

I finally tried this and I'm anxiously waiting for the next update. I like the character building and the fact that choices do matter. That is something I personally like to look for. I like a decent story, and honestly, this is better than decent, in my humble opinion. Again, I do prefer story driven games with good character building. Honestly, the only negative (and it's not a negative in my book) are the few grammar errors, and I do mean few. Just looks like typos here and there, and that happens to the best of us.
