Imagine those super fancy restaurants where the food is like $3000 and i'ts only a bite, that is how i could describe this game, absolute kino graphics, but way too little, very good game, very short and poorly balanced, if you dare to farm for 15 minutes the game is impossible to lose anymore, and WAY TO MUCH GRIND, do yourself a favor and play it with cheat engine at x5 speed

Iris Chronicle is somewhat of a legendary game in a sense. A remake coming 12 years after the original. And personally I think despite it's shortcomings, the sheer amount of polish, effort, and love put into this title, it deserves a high rating.

First off the story is solid. I didn't complete all the endings because I couldn't be assed to grind anymore hours, but I've seen enough. The characters are pretty forgettable aside from Dahlia and Iris. There are some interesting turns, but for what it is, a porn game, it's good enough to keep you entertained while you strangle your goblin.

The HCG's are what you're here for and man oh man that is 100% where the polish went into this game. Obviously they reused many of the assets from the last game, but they are all still all good. There are a ton of different fetishes to find here, especially if you like interspecies sex, and a ton of them are about as filthy and degenerate as they can get. Vore, expansion/inflation, lactation, anal, tentacle, and more. The best part as that each girl has a different pose for the same enemy, which is great because if you would rather a close up behind shot of one girl getting fucked in the ass or a front shot with her face in frame, you have somewhat of a choice.

However there are a lot of aspects of the game that leave a ton to be desired. I'll list them in no particular order:

- First off, game over Ero scenes should be downright illegal in the Hentai game scene at this point. I ended up just using cheat engine to enjoy the scenes, because without it you are constantly having to manage health to view any of the battle fucking.

- There is really not enough scenes with human characters. I mean seriously becoming such a slut I feel we should have been able to have both the feMC's doing a lot more, especially in town. The first scene in the game made me think we might have some hot forced dirty talk scenes in the game, but it's really the only time it happens

- There really, really... REALLY should have been pregnancy in this game I feel. I get that adds more to development, but so many of the scenes are bugs, slugs, or monsters trying to breed the MC's and we already have womb expansion and pussy cleaning mechanics. Why have these things shooting "White liquid" into their holes without an outcome. It would have added so much more to see them shooting slugs out their ass, or birthing spider clutches. Jumble Strikers (RJ294780) did this very well, and I would love to see it implemented in this game

- As said by others, the mid section of the game is a slog, and I'm glad I had the game at 5x speed to make it through.

- I really wish we had more clothing options, even just in changing accessories. But I understand that would be a nightmare with the real 2D work they had to do with the clothing options already available

And lastly I would love if I could have a conversation with Japanese developers about a little thing called Ludonarrative dissonance. For those who don't know, Ludonarrative dissonance is when the gameplay of a game does not match up with the story, creating a sense of disconnect. In Iris Chronicle, there really is no sense of your actions during gameplay having any effect on the world. The characters barely change, there's little to no dialogue as they become sluts. And you can show up to the guild hall naked, with your womb so full of cum it's bulging, and it's barely talked about. There's no discussion between Daliah and Iris during or after getting fucked... I mean personally for me, this is the biggest reason the game doesn't get perfect marks. Some devs can get this part right, and I hope more learn how to do it.

I wish this site had 10 stars to rate by. If it did, I would rate this game an 8/10. It's excellent for what it does, and even if it does reuse assets, the layering on the real 2D is so incredibly hot.

I look forward to the next game from Oiran Ichimi, and hopefully we can see something new next time!

Awful menu navigation paired with punishment for getting porn scenes only SOME of the time. The first time you lose? That's allowed. Plot continues. Second time you lose? Suddenly it's a real game over, meaning the lewd stats are entirely lost and irrelevant. What's the point? Not only does it punish you for seeking the content you're here for, but it does so on a whim. That combined with its awful, entirely tedious menu for navigating areas makes this such a hard and immediate pass.

There might be something here, but I sure as hell don't have time for finding it.

Very high production value game. Every element from the user interface, music, sounds, gameplay and sex scenes are polished and high quality.

Gameplay features turn-based RPG combat with battle rape, mixed with VN style dialogue and moving between different locations. The story is very interesting, but the VN part can be a bit of a drag during the mid-game. The combat is fun and engaging the whole game, if a bit easy (pump up the difficulty in the main menu) and sometimes grindy due to a high encounter rate.

The adult content is simply top tier, although it mostly caters to niche content like monster and tentacle rape (which is 100% my jam, but might not be yours). There are some vanilla scenes tough, at the middle part of the game. Lots of sex scenes with great artstyle, and all are expertily animated and feature orgasmic moans and sound effects.

The minor gripes that I have are that in the end the combat gameplay does not use its full potential, sidelined in favor of advaning the story via the VN parts. And the new game+ method of unlocking the rest of the endings is cumbersome because of the middle part of the game, where you have to replay Nestor's investigation part over and over, which is a big drag.

Other than that, this is now in my top 10 hentai games easily, despite the negatives. The production quality and sex scenes are above and beyond the usual slop of porn games, so even if you're on the fence because of the tags and fetishes, trust me, it's worth checking out this game if only for academic purposes (lol), just to see what an actually high polished porn game can be.

Pros

• Challenging but straightforward fights (if you don't grind).

• Comes with free gallery unlock that does in fact work.
• Very clear instructions telling you what to do to progerss.

• Quite a bit of dialogue.
• Random encounters bog down exploring a lot.
• There's only one good combat strategy, and it gets repetitive.
• Enter key is select, X key is cancel, and you can't remap it within the game. Autohotkey is a must.
• Very clear instructions telling you what to do to progerss shown repeatedly... but it's not highlighted so you might miss it anyway.

Note on the gallery unlock: Close the game, replace the file, then restart the game, in this exact order. If you repace the file while the game is open and restart it afterwards, the unlock won't work.

Gameplay - Turn based battle-fuck with clothes tearing mechanic, and a legit RPG system for consumables, equipment and weapons although they don't really matter too much, you can clear the whole game with the starting items you just need to farm levels cause most enemies just die in 3 hits, 5/5.

H-scenes - filthy monster rape with animations, you can clearly see the kind of messed up H-scenes we are talking about here. There's loads of scenes covering a stupidly diverse amount of fetishes, I am not kidding, even if you are not a fan of like, 40% of the H-scenes, the rest you will definitely like.
Oh and there's also a dating sim around the mid part of the game where you are the male companion and you have wholesome romantic H-scenes with all of the women.

So why am I not rating this a 5/5?

Well...

During the mid point of the game you need to switch to a male character and grind through a STUPID amount of story scenes to ACTUALLY MAKE PROGRESS. The only way to know this is to read the comments under this f95 post. Otherwise, you will be running around the levels fighting enemies, looking for some key item to unlock the gates in the sewer, but NOPE, WRONG WAY.

There's supposed to be alternative endings, but good luck trying to figure out how to unlock them lmao. Spoilers: don't waster your time.

Another big issue is opening the gallery.

Let's say you import a save. Does it work? Nope.

When you clear the game is it opened? Nope, you get a free roam room with each enemy instead.

So, if you use that room, or just play the game and lose on purpose will you unlock all the scenes? Nope, there's many hidden variations of the scenes and you have absolutely no idea how to unlock them.

But wait, there's those wholesome romantic H-scenes with the male companion, surely if you unlock those in-game they are opened in the gallery right? Nope.

But wait, the devs have placed a help file with instructions on how to open the gallery, surely that will work right? Nope.

Surely the issue is the language locale, and to fix this dumb programmer mistake you need to run the Locale Emulator and from there, everything from above will start working correctly again, right? Nope, the Locale Emulator changes literally nothing.

If the gallery is fixed and the mid-game dialogue with the male character is removed, this will be a 5/5 but due to the frustrations from above, this is a 3/5.

Compared to the prequel this game is more a dungeon crawler then a sidescroller, the game and fight mechanics have improved, also the story is better told. Compared to prequel the art is still the same, there are more scenes but some of the old ones got changed to the bad (spider, mimic for example) also the voice actress from the prequel was better imho.

To the scenes itself I miss a bit mouthaction (gag, tentacles etc.) should have been easy to implement that as a scene progression in some scenes. All in all a good game and worth playing.

Excellent game. It's got a large amount of high quality scenes, each with many variations (for clothing, character, and what's happening in the scene) that can be discovered in battle.

Surprisingly, the story is also great. Although it may fall off at certain times, it's still quite enjoyable. As you'd expect, I didn't come to the game for its story, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's also a branching story, so it's highly replayable. There's so much content you could just replay it to see everything and not just the story shaping differently.

The game has a good selection of enemies and cute girls, all with their own animations, attacks and sounds which make combat very fun and the scenes very spicy. There are also many H status effects to explore, progressive clothing damage, and attacks.

Overall, one of my favorite games here by far. I liked it even more than the game it's based on: Iris Action. Highly recommended!

Would have honestly given this a 5/5. it was a great game all around... until the mid part of the game.

You are introduced to this rather normal MC (Iris) and what she does and then she meets the 2nd MC and from this point they had no idea how this will greatly change them. because even though after she saves you in day 1, after a few days the 2nd MC suddenly attacks your base! and yet she somehow under something/someone else's control. and then a magic that sends you back in time! wow going strong in this one author huh? oh you want something even better? the turn back time happens not once, not twice, but 3 times! damn author I thought he's biting more than he can chew.

but no, the author actually delivered! the endings were chef's kiss. let me just leave this little bit: the title drop is amazing. peak 5/5 right there. and yes, it is worth the playthrough even if just for this title drop.

however I have to take one point because of the mid portion of the game, where the POV would mostly switch to Nestor. let's just call him the guild supervisor. and I'm sorry, but the amount of screen transition (among others) in this part of the game almost made me quit. I'm surprised myself that I didn't quit.

highly recommended. just be warned in mid game. but to the game's credit, this game went through 12(!!) years of development hell or so I hear. so don't be too harsh on the game.

A real game finally.
Unlike RPG makers,this game has a storyline with multiple branching paths and endings. The combat is fun and fast. It really gets a bit tiring in the Sewers part(as most sewer levels) but the game doesn't overstay its length.

As for the character, they are likeable, all of the main girls manage to keep a certain interest throughout.
As for the main girl(iris), you can keep her virgin throughout, even do anal first with male deuteragonist. Sadly though, your sexual experiences really do not go deeper, even if you keep her virgin, the main storyline never references anything which is a shame. Doing a sex show also goes to vaginal and not anal.
The CGs scenes are quite attractive and the voice acting is minimal but worthwhile to listen to(finally).
l have reached Ending 3 for the first time. It seems to be the true ending. Thankfully, the game is simple despite the forced loss on the first battle.
For a Unity game, finally, it can be played without any problems.
The final boss though, oh boy, it is surely anti-climatic.

A worthwhile game to play through, it is funny seeing your partner have sex while you're stealing items from the enemy that is having sex with your partner. THis game has good concepts, not all are used correctly but at least the game has some life into it.
l especially loved that you can buy indestructible panties(Big plus) and you can keep wearing them, having stench in it and then you can sell them to a cute girl who is interested in such stench panties. Sadly, she only appears when you need money for a main mission, after that, kaput.

Play the game, very few games l actually recommend.

After 12 years Iris come back with another game. Before with the name "Iris Re action" and now with Iris Chronicles. This game is a retelling of the first game but with a rpg element and a new co-protagonist Dahlia.
The gameplay is solid, you can adjust the difficulty but i found normal to be very easy. There is just a forced defeating battle at the start of the game, but then there are multiple way to achive different finals.
Most of the sex scenes are reused assets from Iris Action but there are new scenes with the new Dahlia and some new monsters.

My only complains are the grinding experience to achive all cg (you need to unlock every single animation with every single set of dresses) and the overall boring sex interaction scenes.

Overall is IC is a good game and a welcome back of an iconic ero game

A long time H game creator having made an ACT before. This is a multiple main character H game with animated sex scenes, a lot of different fetishes and a decent amount of H content with H mechanics such as combat rape and H statistics. By all accounts this should be an easy recommend, however...

A few H scenes are reused assets from the previous ACT H game, focused on the protagonist mainly. There's reset game overs, a couple dialogue choices that lead to an abrupt bad end, and even the menu itself seeks to compromise your progress forcing a reload by having an ESC option that can misled you. This creator being experienced should have known these instances would dirty the experience but they still exist and as such, I believe this was simply a case of laziness similar to his recycling effort.

You can still enjoy playing this game from start to finish ultimately, there's still plenty of faps to be had. Just remember to save often and if you get hard stuck, feel free to use a full save. I imagine it's what this creator would have done as well anyway.

Lot of text and it takes awhile for the game to get going. I also hate defeat scenes but once you get a 2nd party member you can have them basically get non-stop sexed by the monsters.

A lot of great scenes and well animated. The story is ok. The gameplay is actually decent but would have liked an even harder mode because it was still too easy.

This will be a short review because I'm playing this game for like 30/45 minues, so i hope my thoughts about this game gets better while i advance:

In the first/second day they introduce you to a mechanic of quests, but as soon you start doing them the game force you to progress the history (its making me feel that the game is obligating me to rush),

Another thing that i didn't like is that in the first 15 minutes that i played, the game did 2 fights that i forcibly coudn't win just to lead me to a cutscene instead of reward me or even let me keep playing doing another cutscene.

I really hope that this is only because i played some minutes, because the artists made a great job on it and i want to have fun and a good experience playing it.

Though I'm not a fan of "defeat for ero" type of games (need to be attacked in combat for scenes), this one breaks the mold.

Nice scenes, good character design, multiple girls, interesting story, some exhibitionism, and easygoing combat make for a great playing experience.

(V0.50) At present, even if this game stays as what it is, and does not change course I would still give this one of the highest ratings of an RPG Porn game.
The monsters are varied as are the sex scenes, combat is fun and not grindy. It's not specifically overpowering combat like some of the others, but just enough to provide the fun factor with some really hot scenes, and hard enough that you actually have to pay attention at least in terms of boss battles.
I don't expect it to be a game with many choices since, Iris Action, which is what it was based on is a simple side scroller, but it is already shaping up to have a pretty decent storyline and world building.
I seriously look forward to it's release. This time around you get to play the porn scenes instead of them being just a simple game over screen.

I can't give this game anything more than 2.5 starts due to the slow translation going on. It takes anywhere from 2-5 seconds for the translation to show up so you have this very very slow text reading to do. Add to that this game is quite wordy you will spend a ton of time waiting to read at the pace of an elementary. English is readable still a tiny bit of poetry at times but still readable.

It's very rare to play a thief character so just for that it's deserve some view.

For the gameplay, it's pretty much VN with some 2D (N-S-O-E) movement. For the combat. classic turn by turn.

I think this game have a lot of potential.

Not a lot of content yet, but all the main systems seem to be in place and working well, with the combat being extremely smooth.

Combat 5/5: Yeah this system is a banger. It is the best turn based RPG on this website when we talk about flow. The animations are quick, combat is quick and it's impactful what choices you make in a combat encounter.

You can spend MP to empower your attacks or to react to an enemy attack by dodging or counterattacking, meaning you do not want to nuke all your MP at the start. Good stuff.

Clothing Damage 5/5: Yep it's here and the H scenes are all different depending on your clothing level. That's effort.

Battle Fuck 4/5: Pretty good, goes well with the clothing damage but it can act as a janky stun effect that deals damage per turn, prefer if I can see the scene without taking HP damage so that I do not need to reload a save for efficient gameplay.

Art/Animations 5/5: Very good use of layering 2d images and vfx's. The main character is cute and the animations are buttery smooth. Expected nothing else from the dev that made the original Iris Action.

Music-Sound 4/5: Sound effects are ok but the soundtrack slaps for what it is.


The game seems to go for a crafting system where you need to find ingredients. Can be cool if it is not grindy, so I cannot comment on it now.


Overall, very good. Will likely rate it a 5/5 in the future.
