Is getting VR worth it?

Hey guys,

wanted to ask people with VR headsets, would you say you would buy the VR again just to play the few good-ish VR porn games available? Especially the cheaper sets like Quest 2 (I heard it has some real issues with the quality compression, esp. wireless). Do you feel like it improves the enjoyment by that significant margin? Like let's say the VR Kanojo game. Do you think the VR enjoyment is that much of an improvement compared to non VR like Koikatsu? And what about porn? Heard there are issues with scaling and that you are basically just a lying wood lol.

To me it feels like there is actually not much to do yet with VR. Like you basically just have it as a bigscreen. Not many games utilize true VR. And if they do, they are usually without much gameplay, more like just touching in a room and stuff. But I do not own a VR set, so feel free to correct me!

Dunno about porn games but the quest2 is fantastic for for normal porn and there is a Zombie game called Saints and Sinners that is amazing. Never used it wirelessly though.

Valve Index user here. If it broke, would I buy a new one? Absolutely. But would I buy another one just for porn or porn games? Only if significantly drunk. As you said, most of the games are devoid of gameplay: just touching a nearly lifeless character. Outside of Poke Abby there were few that I found enjoyable. But Poke Abby was quite enjoyable. She is in the room with you, your hands are moving around her. It is an altogether different experience from play on a big screen and shows what could be done with VR.

VR porn itself is amusing, but in its current (and likely future) state, not that much better than watching on an oversized monitor and most do involve you seemingly being a wooden plank as you mentioned.

But my time in VR has been filled with many, many "oh fuck" moments, whether in Skyrim or Tilt Brush or Google Earth (as well as other games and apps). And those moments make the price of admission worth it.

Yeah, I was just thinking whether it got to the point of being interesting enough for me to potentially try. I don't really have much desire to buy VR to play normal VR games, I kinda don't think it's worth enough (with all it's issues, not many games, very basic gameplay etc.) since I don't enjoy singleplayer games as much anymore (except for some rare cases) after so many games and years. I need something fresh in them to even catch my attention (I love indie games though for the simple reason of devs trying new interesting stuff and not just some bland copy paste projects AAA companies do nowadays).

So thought I might try VR if at least the porn was in better state to compliment it, so maybe I would enjoy a bit of both worlds, but alas I don't feel like it would be worth it to me. Especially when the better VRs like Index cost an arm and a leg haha. I heard the Quest was great, especially since it's wireless, but also heard the quality being pretty bad due to compression as I said etc. Also having small house with no decent space and some medical issues preventing me to utilize the VR freely and for extended periods of time does not help my case heh.

But I get that seeing gorgeous games in VR must be kinda life changing in a way. Though I take it more like sight seeing, not something for hundreds of hours of fun and novelty. Kinda like travelling to sightsee. Some people love doing that, I would not. I don't really care for seeing stuff I can see anywhere on the internet, it just does not bring me any enjoyment from being there? I dunno, I might be weird. The only sight I would love to see with my own eyes is Space stuff, like basically Elite Dangerous (well more like Star Citizen with it's attention to details, god damn that game is beautiful if we ignore the bugs and stuff) in VR/IRL.
Shame we won't be there when some sort of neural VR gets introduced, damn. I would 100% jump on that. Just zone out and have the VR cram information (dream) inside my brain hole lol.

Specifically for porn games? No, not at all. I've never owned, but I used to borrow one and it's not really that good. Can't remember what I had. I mean logically, you can get it for porn and also use it for other games, however, if ur only getting it for porn then it's probably not worth the money and setup + you can need a decent rig (pc to play a lot of vr games)

The Quest2 plays 8k VR content without a hitch. Its like the ultimate POV porn, you can look around, up down, when there a two girls you can look from one to the other, all without seeing the ugly dudes face in it. Porn actresses look different in it too, meaning they usually look better for some reason. The down side is, you need some light in the room as it relies on cameras on the front of it to track your head movement. Its one of those things you either like or you don't. To try porn use google cardboard on your phone, prick to look around in it and quality is shit, but for 10 bucks you will get the feel of it.

YES YOU DEFINITELY BUY IT! It's wayyyy better. Especially for porn game like Virtamate! It's so realistic and experience is amazing! Just buy it! VR porn is also great experience. Overall VR is totally worth it. For 3D porn game and VR porn. JUST DO IT MATE! I've bought mine almsot 2 years ago and having epic experience with vr porn game. Best porn game is Virtamate!

I've oculus rift s and i got 2 basestation 2.0, 3 vivetracker and gues what? You can mimic your movement in virtamate. Virtually fucking anything you want. Even celebrities. There is almost all female celebrities who totally look alike!

Yeah and advertisements and propoganda getting inserted into your dreams. Before getting too excited about new/future tech, always consider how it can be abused. I feel like there's a Futurama episode about this... but i'm getting off-topic.

I've been interested in VR as well, but for the opposite reason--i want it for normal games. It's just way too expensive since i refuse to have anything to do with Facebook. I'd try some adult VR games if i had a headset but i think it's hard enough to find a decent 3D adult game, much less a decent VR one. I feel like anything currently out there in adult gaming would probably only be interesting for an hour.

I wish I could play this :/ but no Non-VR version =.= I had the PSVR but didn't have the move controllers (which you need to play this on the PS4) You have good taste now they just need to make a regular good Walking Dead game that doesn't require VR lol.

To be precisely accurate Oculus Quest 2 has somewhat low FOV (f.e. in Beat Saber I can't even see notes falling in corners), but I enjoy using it for both default VR porn videos and games. Also Oculus constantly update firmware and stuff, recently they added 120hz support for all owners - just because. And that's great news.
