It can make a full 3D game, but if you have to ask, it's a sign that you should not be thinking of making anything this complex.

No sir im not thinking of anything complex.

Im kind of newbie in game development with only 4 months of experience, im just not sure how much time and money are needed to build a simple open world game.

As redknight said, I believe it's better if you start with a simpler project. Think of it this way, when learning to play a game, usually the first steps are learning how to move around and hit the basic keys. Then you practice using the various interfaces, learn some combos, and after a lot of time, you get to do super complicated combos with arcane items, special moves, etc.

Making a simple open world game with godot is a complex combo.
Right now, you're struggling with moving your character in the game space, because you don't even know which keys to hit for that.

Start with something simple. Like, I'd say, if you want to use godot, start by coding a snake game using the 2d part of the engine, maybe. Once you're able to do that, then maybe you can think about creating more complex projects.

Thanks for the advice.
Maybe I'll start with something small and simple open world game that easy to build.

As a game developer i have to say that any "open world" it's way too complex as a start.
Not only there are tons of 3D models to create, but there way too many system to think about.
Unless your open world it's a "stickman" city or a dead zone this will require months of work for professional programmers and 3d artists.

My advice is to completely change the target and do some small project as start.

Said that i already used Godot, which is a nice engine, but i rather prefer Unreal or Unity.
Even Cocos2dx or Cocos Creator (which still need a lot of fixes in my opinion) are not that bad.

Which programming language you would like to use on your game?

I already have a working proof of concept

Im kind of new in game development. So i think I'll stay with godot for now.
My concern is what if i hit a road block how much time it will take to implement a feature compare to other engine like unity.

My main road block for now is the facial animation.
I have no good idea how am i gonna implement this, i watched some tutorials on YouTube but it's mostly unreal engine.

Godot build in language, gdscript

Unity and Unreal has a good community and a lot of plugins which will help you to introduce new features, i did create and sold some RPG system on UE4 few years ago, as weather system and inventory system.

My main road block for now is the facial animation. I have no good idea how am i gonna implement this .
You could add some bone on the head to do that, but check if there are any limit and if it will cause some issue with the skeleton.

I know that, but since you wrote "Im kind of newbie in game development" i was asking which language you know.

I recently started to play on a Nvidia Shield and on my phone (Android) and I always have problems with godot games.
They randomly crash and have so many bugs and i´ve seen dozens of topics where people complained about the engine on Android and I'm not sure if there is a “newer” version that works perfectly but all the games i´ve played had severe problems.

It is. Better than the alternative and not bond to shitty contracts either.
I´m still searching for Godot games that run on android without crashing randomly or are filled with bugs, so i´m not sure if it´s better just because you don´t have shitty contracts.
