Hi,
I'm in the process of creating a game and i have small issues concerning my game's name.
I had four names in mind, but three of them are already taken.
- the company : already taken by another porn game
- the office : same name of a television series.
- Office Affair : Taken by a book

The last choice isn't already used, but it only refer to an important event that will happen in the intro. But to the overall story isn't really relevant. (i won't say it, it would be spoiling ;) )

So here is, my question:
is it a problem if my game's name is already used elsewhere ?

Why not mix it up, like Company: The Story of an Office Affair or something like that?! (Imho)

If it's another porn game, definitely.
I don't know about the rest.

Just call it "The Sex Company" or something.

A Company Affair. Getting Busy in the Business. Office Hi-jinx. Fuck'nSuck, Inc., Desk Duty: The Ins and Outs of an Office Lecher, etc.
Seriously, get creative. Have some fun. Hell, the title doesn't have to even be descriptive of the scenario. Have the main character have a huge schlong and name him Richard --> title "The Office Adventures of Big Dick".

PS The thesaurus is your best friend when writing.

Just be careful if it's too generic.
If you call it "The Office" and somebody googles it, they are never going to bring up anything to do with your game.
Whereas if you go and put something like "Lida's Adventures" in Google, every single result is for that game.
I made this mistake ^^

I was literally typing this exact message then I saw you already said it. So +1.

The best answers here are the ones that are telling you to be unique so it can be googled.

But just an FYI, titles can not be copyrighted so you can use any one you like, you just run into the problem of your work being confused with another.

I suspect the chances of being sued for trademark infringement for a porno game are remote, but I'll agree that having an easily googlable name is pretty useful. Also, subtlety is for suckers, so go with a name like Sex Office or Fuck Company.

Most titles can't be trademarked, especially if they are for a single work. It is a bit different for say a series/franchise. But single book/movie/game/etc titles are almost always denied trademark requests.
