Is there anyway to search within specific thread?

There are many many threads that last hundreds of pages. Personally I'm not some one sane to read all that.
So to not been a nuisance to asking repeating questions that already been asked numerous times by others is there any method to search for words that got mentioned within the thread?

Like where is the patch notes.
What news new in latest patches.

if you just click on the search icon in the top right you'll se a "in this thread" being automatically selected, though the search engine itself is pretty bad
